Behind the Scenes at the Achieve Conference: Game-Changing Tips, AI Privacy, and Real Creator Strategies In this episode of the Creatives on Fire podcast, I'm recapping the highlights from my recent trip to the Achieve Conference in Waco—and trust me, these takeaways are worth every second of your time. But first—a quick announcement: I'm taking a short break from the podcast for Q4 to focus fully on my business and set things up strong for the new year. While I pause the podcast, I'll still be uploading videos three times a week on YouTube, so be sure to subscribe here if you haven't already! https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode217 Now, let's dive into the top lessons and tips I'm bringing home from the conference: Protect Your AI Content Thanks to Maria Duron, I discovered an important setting in ChatGPT that affects your content privacy. Here's what to do: Open ChatGPT (on both desktop and mobile). Click your profile icon > Settings > Data Controls. Toggle OFF "Improve the model for everyone." This ensures your ideas, courses, books, and business strategies are NOT used to train the AI model. Do it on each device to make sure your data is protected. Build a Brand Story People Remember Gurneet Chhabra of the Savvy Fashion Girl reminded us that authenticity is more than a buzzword—it's a brand builder. Her tips: Regularly share a short, powerful story of who you are and why you do what you do. Create a quick video or Reel version of your story to reintroduce yourself often. Pay close attention to metrics as your audience's way of speaking back to you: Saves = Value Shares = Impact Comments = Connection Link Clicks = Trust Metrics aren't vanity numbers—they're your community's response. Use them to tweak and align your messaging. Practical Creator Tools and Tech Tips A panel of content creators shared some quick, impactful tools and settings every creator should know: Set your phone's camera to record at 1080p HD at 30 FPS for best clarity. Adjust aspect ratio to 9:16 (vertical) for optimal results across platforms. Create content that's doable and relatable, not over-produced. Simple projects often perform better than complicated ones. Fit Content Into a Busy Schedule Sarah Elizabeth (a full-time teacher and content creator) shared her brilliant system for staying consistent: She creates project-specific albums in her phone to track all content—photos, supplies, videos. She stays late at work one hour each day to batch reply, engage, and post, knowing once she's home, life takes over. Her mindset shift: If you're in it for the long haul, why race? Do the content you love. Plan it out. Then share it from a place of purpose. If you take nothing else away from this episode—toggle off ChatGPT content sharing and go back to your content roots. Lead with authenticity, lean into what works, and protect the creative spark that brought you here. Taking a break from podcasting for Q4 was not easy, but it's necessary for me to pour into what matters most right now. I challenge you to do the same—audit your focus and lean into growth this season. 🎧 Catch up on any of the 217 episodes you may have missed, and come hang out with me on YouTube where new content is dropping 3x weekly. If you've ever wondered whether you could actually make money with the Amazon Influencer Program, you're going to love this conversation with Rob Wagener, also known as Fizz. Rob started out blogging in the health and fitness space but quickly realized the potential of pivoting into Amazon's video-based influencer program. In this episode, he shares how the helpful content update actually pushed him to lean harder into Amazon—and it paid off. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode216 From Certified Trainer to Amazon Content Creator Rob walks us through how he got started with a blog, using his certifications in personal training and nutrition coaching to create content that genuinely helped people. His blog grew fast, and affiliate income followed. But when Google's helpful content update tanked his traffic, Rob shifted focus. Already in the Amazon Influencer Program, he took it as a sign to double down—and that's when things really took off. Why On-Site Amazon Videos Work So Well Rob explains how the on-site video strategy works: you create a video for a product, upload it to your Amazon dashboard, and—if Amazon chooses to feature it—it shows up right on the product page. No need to drive traffic yourself. If your video gets watched and helps convert a sale, you earn commission. It's a hands-off approach that's scalable and ideal for creators looking for passive-style income. "I create content, upload it, and move on. Amazon takes care of the traffic." — Rob Wagner Finding the Right Products: What to Look For According to Rob, the key to earning consistently is two-fold: Choose products with proven sales (Amazon even tells you how many have sold). Look for listings with few or no influencer videos to reduce competition. Bonus tip: there are tools (like Rob's own Oink extension) that can help you filter and find ideal product opportunities faster and more strategically. Creator Connections: A Game-Changer for Commission Rates We also talk about Creator Connections—Amazon's internal campaign platform where brands offer higher commission rates to influencers willing to create content. Rob breaks down how this works, why it's worth your time, and how to request free product samples directly from brands to support your content creation. He also shares a crucial mindset shift: those who treat this like a business and work with intention (instead of just creating random content) are the ones who see the biggest returns. Final Advice: Commit to a Strategy Whether you're new to the Influencer program or you've been dabbling and not seeing results, Rob's advice is simple and clear: Commit to a strategy. Solve your product pipeline. Be consistent. There's still money on the table for creators who show up with intention and learn how the program works. If you've ever wondered how to grow a thriving online craft business while raising six kids and staying grounded in faith, today's episode is for you. I'm joined by the inspiring Colette Barron, the heart and hands behind Blessings Craft Therapy. Colette has built a beautiful community of nearly a million followers across platforms by showing up with consistency, creativity, and compassion. From humble beginnings with Facebook Lives to viral videos on YouTube, her story will both encourage and challenge you to step boldly into your calling. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode215 From MLM to DIY CEO Colette didn't start out with plans to be a content creator. In fact, she was working in the medical field before stepping back to raise her family. But with creative energy bubbling over, she began sharing easy, Dollar Tree-inspired crafts online. At first, she joined an MLM company, but it wasn't long before she realized it wasn't the right fit. She felt the nudge to create something of her own—and she did. What began as 3–4 minute Facebook videos turned into a full-time business built on creativity and consistency. Her secret? Showing up every day, sharing something doable, and focusing on quick wins for her audience. A Mindset Shift That Changed Everything One of the biggest turning points in Colette's journey was shifting her mindset from "What can you do for me?" to "What can I do for you?" That simple, powerful change—focusing on serving her audience—transformed how she created content. Rather than selling or pushing products, she focused on making people smile, giving them a pause in their day, and building confidence through crafting. And it worked. The Power of a Tagline and a Smile If you've seen Colette's videos, you already know her signature signoff: "Now it's your turn. Go make something pretty." It's more than a phrase—it's a mission. It invites creativity, encourages action, and reminds her audience they're capable of creating beauty, too. How She Gets It All Done Colette is a mom of six and a homeschooler, but she still manages to create consistent content across multiple platforms. Her secret? Batching. Mondays are for planning and prepping content Tuesdays are for shopping for DIY supplies Wednesdays are for filming all of her crafts The rest of the week is spent editing, homeschooling, and managing her home She also repurposes her long-form YouTube videos into short videos for Facebook, allowing her to multiply her content without recreating it. And her best tip? Record voiceovers in the car—it's quiet, soundproof, and distraction-free! The Platform She Loves the Most While she started on Facebook, Colette says YouTube is her favorite platform. Why? It's easier to manage and schedule The monetization is stronger and more consistent You don't have to feed the algorithm as often She compares it to feeding someone a good meal once a week vs. feeding them fast food all day every day (hello, Facebook). The Secret to Staying Consistent It's not always easy, but Colette says obedience keeps her going. She feels a calling to do this work—not just for her family or her audience, but because she believes God asked her to. That motivation helps her keep showing up, especially when things get hard. She also mentioned that people are watching—her kids, her followers—and she wants to lead by example. Faith at the Core Colette's faith weaves through everything she does. At first, she wasn't sure how to bring it into her business. But after a powerful moment of prayer in her car, she knew it was time to share more openly. Now, she shares morning devotionals in her Instagram Stories and plans to launch a podcast called Created to Create that will blend faith, business, and creativity. One Post Away Colette reminded us that growth often comes from one post that resonates deeply. A Dollar Tree plunger project and a single YouTube video both went viral and changed everything. But neither would have happened without the daily commitment to show up and serve. "You're just one post away," she says—and it's a reminder we all need. Where to Find Colette You can follow Colette at Blessings Craft Therapy on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest. On TikTok, she's @blessedcolette. This week on the podcast, I'm thrilled to welcome back a fan favorite—Kara Ward of Lemons to Lemonade Home. If you missed her first appearance, you'll definitely want to check out Episode 180, where she shared her incredible journey from working with Dave Ramsey to launching a successful YouTube channel all about furniture flipping. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode214 In this new conversation, Kara walks us through the massive shifts she's made in her business—from rebranding her channel to expanding income streams, embracing Amazon's newest tools, and even how she automates her brand partnerships. Let's just say: if you've been looking for real-talk insight on how creators are actually earning online today (without doing all the things), this episode is packed with gold. From Furniture Flipping to Full-Time Creator Kara originally built her channel under the name Lemons to Lemonade Furniture, but recently made the shift to Lemons to Lemonade Home—a change that reflects not only her evolving content, but also a realistic pivot as she shares: "I'm 47 now and flipping furniture in 100° Texas heat just isn't sustainable forever." This rebrand gives her the flexibility to show more sides of her life—motherhood, homeschooling, DIY projects, and everyday home inspiration—while still staying true to her roots in creative content. Takeaway: Your brand name can grow with you. You don't have to stay stuck in a box you outgrew years ago. YouTube: Her #1 Income Source Kara doesn't just dabble in YouTube—she's built a full-time income from her channel. In fact, YouTube ad revenue and sponsorships make up 80% of her monthly income. She shared how she landed a consistent stream of monthly sponsors through a talent manager and how just one viral video landed her a spot on the roster of her dream brand agency. But Kara was clear: you don't need 100K subscribers to get brand deals. Engagement matters more than numbers. "I only had around 60K when they reached out," she says, "but my videos had consistent views and hundreds of comments." What's New on YouTube? YouTube's latest game-changer? YouTube Shopping—a feature that allows creators to tag products directly in their videos. While Amazon links aren't supported yet, other platforms like Walmart and Lowe's are fair game. Kara uses this tool to highlight everything from her go-to sprayer to the pink toolbox in her background. Even her subscribers watching on a smart TV can now shop directly from the screen. Pro tip: YouTube is making it easier than ever to earn while you create. If you're already making videos, this is worth exploring. Amazon: Doubling (and Tripling) Her Income Kara's also crushing it on Amazon with both affiliate and influencer programs. She uses Creator Connections (Amazon's brand-driven bonus campaign system) to bump her commissions up to 20–30%—instead of the usual 2–4%. But digging through campaigns manually was a hassle… until she found Oink. "In my first week using the Oink extension, I made back the $29.99 subscription and then some." – Kara Ward Oink is a Chrome extension that scans your Amazon storefront, identifies what products qualify for bonuses, and accepts the campaigns for you—automatically. Total game-changer. The Truth About Niching Down There was a time when sticking to one niche was the golden rule. But Kara believes those days are behind us. "I don't think you have to stay in a tiny content box anymore," she says. "Once you pull people in, they want to know more about you—your home, your family, your life." While her content still centers around furniture and DIY, she sprinkles in real-life moments—like homeschooling updates and behind-the-scenes snippets—that build connection and trust. How Kara Promotes Her Content Even without a website or email list (yet!), Kara has found success promoting her content using: Instagram Stories – with countdowns and teaser clips Facebook – where she's nearing 100K followers YouTube Community tab – polls, video reminders, and feedback requests Bottom line: you don't need every platform, but you do need to consistently invite people into your world. Kara's Advice for Creators: Monetize what you're already doing. If you're using Amazon products, why not earn on them? Stay focused. Build one stream of income until it's nearly on autopilot before adding another. Don't wait for perfect numbers. One engaged community is more powerful than vanity metrics. Automate what you can. From Oink to brand management, systems make growth sustainable. Where to Find Kara Ward Online You can follow Kara everywhere under her new name: ➡️ YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook: Lemons to Lemonade Home And if you want to try out the Oink extension, you can click here to check it out and use her discount code "LEMONS" for 10% off. Whether you're already earning on YouTube or just now exploring Amazon's creator tools, Kara's story is proof that with consistency, community, and a few smart systems, you can turn content into a career. Be sure to listen to the full episode—you won't want to miss the practical tips (and honest encouragement) Kara brings to the table. Stay creative. Overthinking might be the biggest thing holding you back from growing online. If you've ever stared at a blank screen or spent hours reworking a single caption only to not post at all—this one's for you. In this episode, I'm walking you through exactly why overthinking kills your consistency, how to break the cycle, and how to finally start showing up online in a way that's simple, sustainable, and—most of all—effective. Let's simplify your content strategy together. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode213 Why Overthinking Kills Consistency Here's the truth: consistent posting is what algorithms love. But it's hard to stay consistent when every post feels like it needs to be perfect. Maybe you've: Spent days crafting a single post Torn apart your own captions before hitting publish Ended up never posting at all That's the overthinking trap. And the only way out is to start taking action—even if it's not perfect. Remember: done is better than perfect, and most of your audience missed your last 10 posts anyway. Reuse What's Already Worked Think back—what post got the most engagement in the past? Instead of reinventing the wheel, lean into what's proven. Reposting successful content every 90 days (or more often!) is a smart strategy. Your new followers have never seen it, and your current followers probably don't remember it. This is your permission slip to repurpose boldly. Pro tip: I've never had someone comment "you already posted this." And even if they did… who cares? You're showing up. Create an Album System on Your Phone One of the best ways to eliminate overthinking is to create a visual content vault right on your phone. Start organizing images and ideas into albums: B-Roll Amazon Stories Quotes Memes Logos Pinterest Inspiration These folders become your grab-and-go toolkit—no more starting from scratch or spiraling into analysis paralysis. And if you're a member of Facebook Fuel, you're already a step ahead. Save those templates and meme packs into albums so they're always on hand when you need them. Accountability Helps You Hit Publish Still finding it hard to post? Try these two mindset shifts: 1. Get a content buddy. Ask someone to check your page at specific times to see if you posted. Their accountability (even a quick "I see it!" text) can make a huge difference. 2. Hire yourself. If someone paid you to post, you'd do it, right? So show up for yourself like you would for someone else. No excuses. Create a Weekly Content Rhythm Another great way to beat overthinking is to set a loose structure: Monday – Ask a question Wednesday – Share a tip or how-to Friday – Behind-the-scenes or throwback Rotate these or create your own. The key is to remove daily decision fatigue and simplify your posting routine. Action Beats Inaction Your audience doesn't expect every post to go viral. They just want to hear from you. Let go of the pressure to be perfect. Here's what to remember: Most of your followers missed your last few posts. Reposting is smart strategy, not laziness. Having content organized and ready removes the stress. Showing up imperfectly is better than not showing up at all. So I dare you—stop overthinking your content and start creating with clarity and confidence. Until next time, Stay creative. the holiday season has you dreaming of more blog income with less hustle, you're not alone. Q4 is the busiest (and most profitable) time of year for content creators—but it can also be the most overwhelming. In this week's episode of the podcast, I'm walking you through three smart, simple ways you can start making passive income from your blog right now—so you can spend more time with your family and less time stressing about sales. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode212 Each strategy is set-it-and-forget-it, designed to help your blog work for you while you sip hot cocoa and watch Christmas movies. 1. Update and Republish Your Seasonal Blog Posts with Affiliate Links If you already have holiday blog posts on your site, this is the easiest passive win. Here's what to do: Head to your WordPress dashboard and search for posts that include "2024" or are clearly seasonal. Update or add affiliate links where it makes sense (Amazon, LTK, Walmart, etc.). Refresh your intro paragraph and schedule the post to republish this season. Pin the post now so it has time to gain traction on Pinterest. And don't worry—this doesn't have to be a huge job. Just focus on your top 5 to 10 seasonal performers. If you notice a strong traffic post that doesn't yet have affiliate links, now is the perfect time to add them. Want to take it further? Create a new holiday gift guide and publish it now. It can be niche-specific like "Gifts for Teen Girls" or broader like "My Favorite Amazon Finds for the Holidays." Then remember: pin it now so it's already circulating when people start searching in October and November. 2. Add a Low-Ticket Digital Product to Your Blog Digital products are one of the most underrated sources of passive blog income. Start simple: Create a printable checklist, holiday planner, cookie cookbook, or gift tag bundle. Upload it to Flodesk (or your email platform) and set up a simple opt-in and thank-you page with payment. No fancy funnel needed. Just a link to the product and automatic delivery upon purchase. Design a basic promo graphic and pin it now so it has time to gain reach before the holidays hit full swing. You could start with one seasonal product—or create several (one for fall, one for Black Friday, and one for Christmas). Just keep it simple, useful, and focused on solving a seasonal problem your audience has. 3. Increase Blog Traffic to Boost Ad Revenue Sometimes the most passive money-maker of all is right under your nose—your ad revenue. If you're with an ad network like Mediavine, Raptive, Journey, SHE Media, or Ezoic, then Q4 is when RPMs are at their highest. That means more money per pageview. Here's how to maximize that traffic: Make a list of your top-performing holiday posts. Save the direct links in your Notes app so they're easy to access on the go. Share those posts regularly across your social media (especially in Stories and Facebook). Create new pins or fresh Facebook captions for each post to drive traffic in different ways. Bonus Tip: Use tools like Facebook Fuel to simplify this process. Inside Facebook Fuel, I provide ready-made Amazon collages and high-converting product roundup graphics that can be uploaded to your blog sidebar or embedded within posts to increase both traffic and affiliate conversions. Your Weekly Action Plan To make this totally doable, break the steps into weeks: Week 1: Update and pin your best seasonal posts with fresh affiliate links. Week 2: Create one low-ticket digital product and pin it with a simple promo image. Week 3: Build your traffic plan by organizing your top post links and promoting them weekly. By the time October rolls around, you'll already have the systems in place for your blog to generate income on autopilot through Q4—freeing you up to actually enjoy the holidays. You don't need a complicated strategy to make your blog profitable this season. You just need to take action now. Choose one of the three methods above—affiliate links, digital products, or ad revenue—and take 30 minutes this week to set it in motion. Your future self (and your holiday calendar) will thank you. If this episode inspired you to take action, I'd love to hear what you're implementing first. Send me a DM or tag me in your pin so I can cheer you on. Stay creative and keep planting those income seeds, friend. Let's face it—showing up on Facebook consistently can feel overwhelming, especially when you're juggling a million other things. That's why this week on the podcast, I'm sharing a Lazy Girl's Guide to showing up on Facebook (or any social media platform) when you don't feel like it. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode210 This isn't about hustle. It's about hacks that make consistency easy, take the pressure off, and work with your energy, not against it. So whether you're in a rut, burned out, or just busy, these simple steps can help you stay visible, grow your audience, and engage without the overwhelm. Here are the 3 lazy girl–approved ways to stay consistent on Facebook in less than 5 minutes a day—plus a bonus hack that might just blow your mind. 1. Reshare a High-Performing Post to Stories One of the easiest things you can do each day? Head to your most popular recent post and hit "Share to Story." That's it. Facebook Stories are a great way to keep your name top of mind, and by resharing what's already working, you don't have to reinvent the wheel. This is your minimum viable effort strategy—and it counts. 2. Use Facebook's Automatic Invite Feature Inside your professional dashboard, there's an option to invite people who've interacted with your content to like your page. It's a built-in growth feature that takes less than 10 seconds. Just tap it. Let Facebook do the rest. No more worrying about spamming people or over-inviting. This tool does it safely and smartly—and it works. Want to see exactly how to do this? I shared a quick demo over on the Creatives on Fire Facebook page. (Link in the show notes.) 3. Grab a Templated Post from Facebook Fuel If you're really crunched for time or energy, having done-for-you post templates is a game-changer. That's why I created Facebook Fuel—a plug-and-play library of high-engagement posts ready to go. Just choose one, schedule it for tomorrow, and boom—you've already shown up. If you're a blogger, creator, or small business owner who wants engagement without effort, Facebook Fuel was made with you in mind. Bonus Hack: Use Reels and Stories Smarter Here's the ultimate trick I've discovered: Film one short video and use it in three ways. Record a one-minute face-to-camera video (can be as simple as pouring your morning coffee or sharing a quick tip) Post it as a Reel to your page Then reshare it to your Stories Want to go next-level? Record that video as a live, then repurpose the clip into a reel and share to Stories. That's 3 powerful pieces of content from one simple action—and it's what the algorithm loves. Consistency Over Complexity The biggest takeaway from this episode is this: It doesn't have to be complicated to be consistent. You don't need to be everywhere, do everything, or spend hours online. Just pick a few intentional actions and do them regularly. Even on your busiest days, you can: Reshare a post to Stories Tap "invite" in your dashboard Schedule a pre-written template Reply to a few comments Record one short video and use it three ways That's all it takes to stay top of mind, keep your audience engaged, and build momentum—even when you're short on time or motivation. If you took some time off this summer — whether it was intentional or just happened while life got busy — you're not alone. Reentry can be tough, but this episode will help you hit the ground running without burning out. Here are five fresh, feel-good ways to ease back into your business after a break. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode209 1. Time Block Your Week (And Your Next Break!) One of the easiest ways to feel in control of your business again is by deciding ahead of time when you'll work. Not just the day — but the specific hours. Choose time blocks that are non-negotiable, distraction-free, and easy to stick to. Then do something fun: plan your next break! Whether it's a weekend getaway or an afternoon off, putting something on the calendar to look forward to makes a huge difference in staying motivated. 2. Change Up Your Workspace Sometimes the best way to spark new energy is to move your desk, buy a cute new candle, or even just grab a new notebook. Freshening up your space helps you mentally reset and signals your brain that it's time for a new season. Even small changes can breathe big energy into your workday. 3. Evaluate Your Plan Before You Dive In Instead of jumping into that big idea that came to you while sipping beachside margaritas, start small. Make a list of the familiar things that actually move the needle in your business and plug those into your time blocks first. Then, take that dreamy big idea and break it into baby steps you can start adding in without overwhelm. Focus on the platforms you're most excited to work on, and use that excitement as fuel. 4. Stack Your Habits (Personal + Business) James Clear calls it habit stacking — and it's brilliant. Attach a small personal goal to your work block. That could be finishing a Stanley full of water, taking a 10-minute walk before or after your session, or prepping a healthy snack so you're not tempted to graze your way through the pantry. When you combine work time with a habit that supports your life, you're more likely to show up consistently and feel good doing it. 5. Automate Everything You Can This one's a game-changer. Imagine your business running while you rest. It's possible when you automate strategically. Here are a few of my favorite ways: Facebook Fuel gives you ready-to-post content you can schedule for consistent engagement (even on days when you forget to show up). The Evergreen Email System runs Monday/Wednesday/Friday emails automatically each quarter, sharing your best content and driving traffic to your blog — without you lifting a finger. Batching + Scheduling content in advance frees up brain space and energy, especially during busy seasons. Automation isn't just about saving time. It's about creating freedom — and that vacation-mode feeling — even while you're working. Final Thoughts You don't have to come back from summer at full speed. Easing into your business with intention is how you build momentum without burnout. Use these five steps to reset your rhythm, protect your energy, and prepare for the most profitable season of the year. f you've been showing up on Facebook but your blog traffic isn't budging, you're not alone. This week on the Creatives on Fire podcast, I'm sharing the top five reasons Facebook may not be sending your blog the love it deserves—and what you can do about it right now. Let's stop posting and praying—and start showing up with purpose. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode208 1. You're Not Posting with a Plan You can't wing it anymore, friend. Gone are the days of tossing up a random post and hoping it sticks. Here's what works: Theme your week: Stick to one core topic (your zinnia garden, sourdough recipes, Halloween decor—you name it). Post at peak times: Morning, midday, and evening are good starting points. Use a mix of content: Images, text, video, polls—variety keeps people (and the algorithm) engaged. Be consistent: 3 posts/day for pages under 50k followers; 5+ for bigger pages. 💡 Need help staying consistent? Facebook Fuel has you covered with plug-and-play templates every single week. 2. You're Stuck in a Content Rut If you're only posting one type of content (especially just static images or links), you're likely being overlooked. Add variety and movement: Try face-to-camera videos (growth explodes with this!) Use a montage of blog images set to music Share behind-the-scenes clips or take followers with you (even if it's just to your kitchen) Video content doesn't need to be fancy—it just needs to be real. And remember: what's in it for them? 3. You're Not Repurposing Your Blog Content Stop working so hard to create content... and then only using it once. Do this instead: Share your blog post in multiple ways the same week: video, image, text post, quote, story Reshare it again in 90 days (especially if it's evergreen) Pull pieces from the post and stretch them across your feed and stories You're probably sitting on gold you haven't even dusted off yet. 4. You're Linking the Wrong Way Facebook doesn't love outbound links, and it definitely doesn't want you dropping them in your caption. Try this instead: Use the first comment for your link Or ask people to comment a keyword (like "link" or "blog") so you can reply with the link manually or via automation On video? Say the keyword out loud and tell them where to go Small changes in how you share your blog links can lead to big jumps in visibility. 5. You're Not Collecting Emails Consistently If you're not asking for emails every single week, you're leaving money and traffic on the table. How to fix it: Keep a featured post pinned with a freebie or email CTA Post a weekly opt-in reminder using a keyword (mine is "NEW") Always link to a simple landing page or link-in-bio page with your email opt-in front and center Let your content work overtime by getting people on your list where you own the connection. Final Thoughts Here's the deal. Facebook still works. It just takes more intention than it used to. Stop posting and praying—post with a plan Repurpose everything—make your content work harder Prioritize video, variety, and value Ask yourself weekly: what would make this more shareable? And if you're tired of trying to figure it all out alone, come join me inside Facebook Fuel—your once-a-week creative boost to grow your audience and your income using what's working now. 👉 Join now at CreativesOnFirePodcast.com/Facebook If This Episode Helped You… Please leave a review! This week on the podcast, we're having a kind of part two of our Facebook strategy series—and trust me, you're going to want to take a good look at your page. Because if your Facebook isn't converting or growing your audience like it used to, these four smart tweaks just might be the facelift it needs. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode207 4 Smart Fixes to Boost Engagement These aren't complicated or tech-heavy changes. They're simple, intentional updates you can make today to boost engagement, grow your audience, and build trust—without burning out. 1. Fix Your Facebook Page Name (Yes, Really) Did you know your Facebook page actually has two names? One is the public-facing title (think: "Melanie Ferguson DIY Home Decorating"), and the other is your @handle (mine's @southerncrushathome). Here's why this matters: Your title should be keyword-rich so that when someone types "DIY home decor" in the Facebook search bar, your page comes up. Your handle should ideally match across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) to keep your brand cohesive and easier to find. This one small change could make a big impact—just remember, Facebook only lets you change your page name every 60 days, so choose wisely. 2. Update That Profile Picture It might feel easier to use a logo or an avatar (guilty!), but if you are the brand, then your face should be front and center. A clear, smiling photo of YOU builds: Trust Connection Confidence in your brand In today's AI-heavy world, showing up as your real, beautiful self is one of the best things you can do to stand out and build credibility. 3. Use Your Cover Photo Like a Lead Magnet Did you know your Facebook cover image can include a clickable description? Most people don't take advantage of this—but you should. Here's how to optimize it: Add a link in the cover image description to your freebie, email list, or product Include a short message for first-time visitors Make it super clear how they can stay connected with you This hidden gem is a great way to capture warm traffic right from the top of your page. 4. Post More Than You Think You Should I get it—we don't want to sound repetitive. But most of your audience isn't seeing your content the first time around (or even the third time). Here's what works: Post the same message in multiple formats: feed, stories, live video, reels Reuse evergreen posts every 90 days—no one's keeping track but you Mix your media: still images, short text posts, videos, polls, and more And if you're not sure what to post or how to plan ahead, I've got you covered… Want Help Planning All of This? 🎉 Facebook Fuel is officially here! 🎉 It's a brand-new private Facebook group + weekly support system designed to give you: Plug-and-play post templates Weekly engagement tips and training Real-time support for questions and strategy A full content library of viral post ideas (ready to go!) If you've ever felt like Facebook was working against you, you're not alone. In this week's episode of Creatives on Fire, I'm walking you through 3 powerful (and easy!) updates you can make to your Facebook page so it actually helps you grow your audience, drive traffic, and generate income. Whether you've seen a pop of activity that fizzles out fast—or you're stuck wondering why no one's engaging—this episode will walk you through what's really in your control. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode206 Fix #1: Your Featured Posts These are the posts you pin to the top of your Facebook page—make sure they're working for you, not just filler content. You want featured posts that: Introduce who you are and what your page is about Offer a freebie or paid product to drive conversions Spark engagement with a high-performing or conversation-starting post Avoid pinning random "Happy Monday" posts. Instead, use these top spots to build trust, create connection, and lead people to your offers. Fix #2: Your Intro Section This one is often overlooked—but it matters. Your Facebook intro is where the algorithm pulls information about who to send to your page. Make sure your intro is: Filled with keywords that explain exactly what you offer and who you help Linked to a single call-to-action like a freebie or weekly email Short, punchy, and benefit-driven You can even use ChatGPT to help you craft it! And don't forget about the Collections section—use this to showcase affiliate links, reels, and popular posts that reinforce your brand. Fix #3: Your Content Plan Do you have a plan for your next season of Facebook content? If not, now's the time. Many creators lose momentum simply because they don't know what to post or when. And when consistency drops, so does reach. That's why I created Facebook Fuel—a weekly resource that gives you everything you need to grow with confidence. Inside Facebook Fuel, you'll get: A once-a-week email with my best Facebook growth tips Plug-and-play Canva templates you can post immediately Mindset encouragement and marketing prompts Access to my custom-trained AI assistant, built from all my past trainings, courses, and expert interviews A monthly video training showing you what's working right now on Facebook And the best part? This week on the podcast, I'm opening up about something I've been struggling with lately—decision fatigue. If you're a creative entrepreneur, you've likely felt the weight of too many choices, too many paths, and too little clarity. Whether you're stuck in analysis paralysis, asking everyone you know for their opinion, or overthinking every possible outcome—this episode is for you. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode205 Why Decision Fatigue Is Holding You Back Let's be honest. Indecision isn't just frustrating. It's a dream killer. You may not even realize how heavy that unmade decision is until you finally make it—and feel the relief wash over you. I've been there too. In this episode, I break down the three common types of indecision-makers: The Fence-Sitter: waiting for more info, more clarity, more certainty. The Overthinker: paralyzed by possibilities and worst-case scenarios. The Info-Seeker: crowdsourcing input from everyone (even unqualified people!). And if you're like me, you might be a mix of all three. 3 Simple Solutions for Decision Fatigue 1. Decide Ahead of Time Have key pillars in your business that guide your choices. When the shiny objects pop up, you already know your direction. Think of it like meal planning—but for your business. 2. Start Small Can't decide on a big move? Make smaller, low-risk choices first to build confidence. Choose something reversible or less impactful and get used to taking action. 3. Use a Pros and Cons List—or Just PICK Yes, I literally wrote my options on slips of paper, dropped them in a cup, and prayed over the choice. It sounds simple (and maybe a little silly), but it worked. And that decision lifted a weight off my shoulders. Your Next Step If you're facing a decision right now—big or small—know that inaction can be more painful than making the wrong choice. It drains your energy, stalls your progress, and keeps your goals at arm's length. You don't have to wait until it's perfect. Just take the next step. This week on Creatives on Fire, I'm sharing something real and personal—why I completely disappeared from social media for a month, what happened when I did, and why you might want to consider doing the same. This episode is a candid look at burnout, boundaries, and what it really takes to build a sustainable online business. It's rooted in insights from Chapter 4 and the Mindset Matters Bonus Chapter of my new book, Creatives on Fire: 71 Secrets to Making Money Online. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode204 What Happens When You Stop Showing Up Online? Truth bomb: Out of nearly 400,000 followers, only one person noticed I was gone. Yep—after posting consistently for seven years across multiple platforms, I finally hit a wall. I took the entire month of June off. No reels, no videos, no stories, no pins, no lives. And here's what I learned: The break didn't break my business. It saved it. If You're Feeling Overwhelmed, Here's Your Permission Slip We talk so much about growing an audience, staying consistent, and showing up daily—but not at the cost of your mental health. Let this episode be your reminder: You're allowed to rest. You're allowed to reassess. You're allowed to pivot. And yes, your business will be okay. 3 Real Strategies for Sustainable Social Media If you're ready to get intentional with your online business and reduce overwhelm, here's the strategy I recommend: 1. Pick One Platform and Go All In Stop trying to be everywhere. Choose the platform where your ideal customer actually spends time, and master it. Know the ins and outs, post regularly, and let it be your home base. 💡 Example: My mom is only on Facebook. My mother-in-law is only on Instagram. Know your people. 2. Repurpose Your Content Strategically Once you've built a solid foundation on one platform, start repurposing that content elsewhere. Tweak it to fit the vibe of the platform, but don't reinvent the wheel. 📌 If you've got a seasonal business, you already have a year's worth of content—use it! 3. Automate Your Workflows Automation isn't lazy—it's smart. It keeps your business running even when you need a break. 📥 I'll be linking my favorite automation and repurposing tools in the show notes. BONUS: A Mindset Reset for Creatives From the Mindset Matters chapter of my book, here's one excerpt I read in this episode: "Whether it's constant notifications or the negative loop of the news cycle, this external noise can invade our internal peace. Protecting our peace of mind is essential for managing stress, staying motivated, and focusing on our goals." Your peace is not optional—it's the foundation of your productivity. In this episode of Creatives on Fire, we're diving into one of the most powerful (yet often overlooked) tools in your business: your email list. If you're building an online brand, trying to launch a product, or just want a stronger connection with your audience—this is for you. This week, I'm breaking down a few highlights from Chapter Three of my book Creatives on Fire: 71 Secrets to Making Money Online to help you get serious about email marketing. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode203 Why Email Is the Key to a Thriving Business If you've ever built a business on social media (like I did in the early days), you know how risky it is to rely entirely on a platform you don't own. One day I woke up and had lost access to everything—my page, my people, and my peace of mind. Lesson learned: an email list is not optional. It's essential. And building one doesn't have to be complicated. The 3 Simple Steps to Get Started with Email Marketing These aren't fancy tactics or high-tech automations. Just real, doable steps that can make a huge difference: Step 1: Create a Freebie That Solves a Tiny Problem You don't need a 10-module course. You need something quick and valuable—think: A checklist A printable A one-page guide The key? Solve a specific and tiny problem that makes your audience say, "I need that!" Need ideas? Just ask ChatGPT or grab my free guide: 👉 7 Ways to Share Your Freebie and Grow Your List Step 2: Make It Impossible to Miss Put your freebie everywhere your audience is: Your blog Your Instagram bio Your Pinterest pins Your YouTube video descriptions Your podcast show notes (like this one!) The goal is to make signing up a no-brainer. Step 3: Set Up a Welcome Series (Even Just One Email) Don't overthink this. A welcome series is just your way of saying: Here's who I am Here's why I care Here's how I can help you If nothing else, send a single welcome email that thanks them and invites them to stick around. I've linked a few helpful resources below for welcome email examples. YouTube Alert: New Email Marketing Tutorials Playlist! If your email list growth has been a little "meh" lately, this episode is your sign to shake things up! In today's episode of Creatives on Fire, I'm sharing 7 proven strategies to help you grow your email list fast—without needing complicated tech or paid ads. Whether you're just getting started or ready to scale, these ideas will spark fresh inspiration for getting more subscribers today. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode200 1. Swap Freebies with a Biz Bestie Partner with someone in your niche (or a complementary one!) and promote each other's freebies to your email lists. It's a win-win way to grow your audience with warm leads who already trust the person sharing you. Try this at least once a quarter! 2. Join a Bundle, Blog Hop, or Online Event Group events like seasonal blog hops or digital bundles can put your opt-in in front of hundreds—if not thousands—of new people. I've grown my list by tens of thousands this way over the years! Keep your freebie super simple and easy to access (no multi-step signups, please). 3. Automate a Keyword on Social Media Set up a simple automation using tools like Instachamp or Minichat and invite your followers to comment a keyword like "connect" or "email" to get your freebie. Use this in both your posts and stories—set a reminder to do this weekly. 4. Create a Fun Quiz Everyone loves a good quiz! Whether it's "What's Your Crafting Personality?" or "Which Business Model Fits You Best?"—use a quiz to deliver personalized results via email. This strategy converts really well because it's engaging and tailored to the reader. 5. Host a Giveaway (But Do It Smart) Run a giveaway and require an email opt-in to enter. Make the prize digital—like an Amazon gift card or downloadable bundle—to keep it simple. Pro tip: Host the giveaway on your blog to drive traffic and collect subscribers. 6. Offer Bonus Content in a Private Group or Channel Whether it's a weekly message, tutorial, or just encouragement—give your email subscribers access to a private Facebook group or broadcast channel. It builds loyalty and community fast. 7. Turn Your Top Blog Post Into a Freebie Check your Google Analytics to find your best-performing post and add a relevant, useful opt-in right to that page. Think: checklist, printable, or mini tutorial based on the post topic. Bonus Action Tip: Don't try to do all of these at once. Choose 1–2 ideas and schedule them on your calendar each month. Consistency, not overwhelm, is what will grow your list fast. Mentioned in this episode: My upcoming book: Creatives on Fire: 71 Secrets to Making Money Online – coming soon! If you've ever wished you could sit down for coffee with successful creatives and just ask them what's working—this episode is for you. I'm bringing you a behind-the-scenes sneak peek into my new book, Creatives on Fire: 71 Secrets to Making Money Online, with rapid-fire wisdom from three powerhouse women featured inside. These are creators who have not only built businesses that thrive but also show up online with purpose, strategy, and heart. Their insights are short, sweet, and incredibly impactful—each in 3 minutes or less.  https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode199 Meet Sara McDaniel of Simply Southern Cottage You've seen her on HGTV and followed her charming home makeovers online, but Sara's real genius? Consistency. Her advice: Don't feel pressured to post every single day in the feed—find your rhythm. She's in Instagram Stories daily, building deep trust with her audience. Use stories as a "mini blog" with a beginning, middle, and end. Bring your followers into your day, even if it's unplanned—it creates connection. 👉 Pro tip: Consistency doesn't mean constant. It means reliable. KariAnne Wood of Thistlewood Farms on Affiliates If affiliate marketing feels overwhelming, KariAnne is here to simplify it with a strategy that works. Her advice: Assign a purpose to each affiliate platform. Amazon = everyday products LTK = outfits + home tours ShopMy = targeted brands like Target & Anthropologie Film quick clips in the moment and store them for later (no pressure to post right away). Challenge yourself: just one post per platform a day is enough—and it adds up! 👉 Pro tip: Slow and steady affiliate marketing can turn into significant income when it becomes a habit. Brooke Riley of Re-Fabbed on Facebook Brooke built her online business from the ground up—starting with Facebook, where she still dominates. Her advice: Nurture your audience like gold—they followed you for a reason. Don't be afraid to reshare your content. Facebook's algorithm may not have shown it the first time. Engage with every comment you can. If someone takes the time to talk to you, talk back. Even when you grow, make engagement a priority—it's what builds loyalty. 👉 Pro tip: Treat every follower like a VIP guest. It's what turns audiences into community. This rapid-fire episode was just a taste of what's coming in my new book, Creatives on Fire: 71 Secrets to Making Money Online. Each expert inside shares real, raw, and doable strategies that work in today's online world. If you're wondering how creators are really making money online in 2025—beyond the hype, the hustle, and the ever-changing algorithms—this episode is for you. I'm pulling back the curtain on the top three ways I've consistently earned income from my creative business, and I'm also sharing three things I'll never do again. Whether you're just getting started or trying to scale, I hope this gives you a dose of clarity (and maybe a nudge of encouragement, too). https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode198 Hosting a Quarterly Online Event That Leads to a Membership Hands down, one of the most successful strategies I've used is hosting virtual events that funnel into a membership. It started as a fun way to bring people together around a shared interest, but it quickly became a reliable system for launching and growing a loyal community. Quarterly events bring urgency and energy. They give people a reason to show up, engage, and—most importantly—take action. When your event naturally leads into a membership or recurring offer, it removes the awkward sales pitch and feels like the next logical step. Tip: If you're considering this model, focus on serving first. Create something fun, helpful, and highly relevant to your audience—and the right people will want to stick around for more. Consistent Monthly Brand Deal Partnerships One-off sponsorships are fine, but long-term brand partnerships are where the magic happens. Not only do they provide steady, predictable income, but they also allow you to go deeper with your audience while staying in alignment with your values. I've learned that you don't need to say yes to everything—in fact, you shouldn't. Choose partnerships that genuinely make sense for your brand. The right deals feel like collaborations, not compromises. Tip: Once you've found your rhythm, pitch brands you already love and use. Consistency builds trust, and trust builds income. Blogging Ad Revenue Let's not underestimate the power of your blog. Even today, blogging is still one of the best ways to create evergreen, scalable income through ad revenue. It didn't happen overnight. I had to stay consistent with posting, learn SEO, and be patient with the process. But now? My blog works for me, even when I'm not working on it. If you're sitting on a blog that's been collecting digital dust, this is your sign to dust it off and get back to creating. What I'd Never Do Again Every lesson comes with a story. Here are three money-making tactics I've tried that I wouldn't repeat: 1. Accept Free Product Instead of Pay Unless the product is truly life-changing (think: dream vacation, high-end tech, or something you'd genuinely invest in), don't trade your time and energy for "exposure" or free stuff. Your skills have value. Your time is money. 2. Try to Monetize Everything at Once I used to believe that doing all the things would lead to faster growth. In reality, it led to burnout and half-finished projects. Now I focus on one stream until it runs smoothly, then move on to the next. Focus leads to income. Multitasking leads to overwhelm. 3. Depend on Social Media for Income Social media is a tool, not the foundation. It's unpredictable, exhausting, and entirely out of your control. These days, I use social platforms to direct people to where the real magic happens—my email list, blog, podcast, and products. Final Thoughts The best way to make money online isn't the trendiest or flashiest—it's the most sustainable. For me, that's looked like building systems, leaning into consistency, and choosing depth over distraction. Which one of these income streams are you focused on right now? I'd love to hear from you! n the Episode: FUEL Mastermind is HERE Free Guide: Start Your Blog Today You can GO HERE to subscribe and review (On mobile, scroll down past the episodes to "Ratings & Reviews" section, tap the stars, then scroll down to "Write a Review") 2025 Content Planner for Content Creators SUBSCRIBE AND REVIEW I am honored to share a new Blogging Creative on Fire each week on the podcast to bring you inspiration, behind-the-scenes secrets, and quality tips.
