Description
Creativity Wasted is a podcast where a group of creative people get together, and we each share an idea that we're not planning on pursuing in real life, such as an invention idea that's outside our area of expertise, a futuristic sci-fi movie idea, or an evil prank idea. And rather than just letting the idea quietly slip away, we get some fun out of it by joking about it together.

Idea: Genetically-engineered miniature goats that live in your house as pets and only need to be fed the boxes and packing materials from your Amazon deliveries. Also: Amazon could use hay as packing materials if it knows you ordered one of their goats, and/or they could automatically ship you nutrition supplements and give you veterinary reminders to make it easy to care for the goats; maybe you could train the goats to use a doggie door to go outside and grab your package off the porch, bring it inside, and eat the box, so by the time you get home from work, the only thing there is the product that you ordered; being chastised by AI for asking whether a goat can live solely off of cardboard boxes

Idea: Holograms that perform improv with you, so you can do improv if you don't have friends or it's too difficult to coordinate with them (and so you don't have to bug stand-up comics to do improv). Also: the holograms could be AI, could be controlled remotely by a real person in another location, could disguise a real person who's actually there, and could be things like horses that move around the stage; the odd animosity of stand-up comics towards improv; being an improv bully to your holographic AI improv troupe; kicking a holographic AI out of the improv troupe for not performing "on the same level" as everyone else, and then convincing the AI to go to a real therapist

A loose conversation about pranking telemarketers/scammers and pranks in general, including a couple ideas for pranks and Michela's style of pranking telemarketers which risks her getting SWAT'd by the police. Also: examples of military pranks; an idea for a software prank ("Easter egg") where you trick someone into putting their head up next to a computer to listen for something and then eject the CD tray into their face; "pranking for good", such as pulling a prank on someone to make them realize they need to be more cautious about a risky aspect of their life

Idea: To become a scam therapist for pet reptiles. Also: a TV show like "The Dog Whisperer" for reptiles, but where you actually whisper to the reptiles, with your head right next to an alligator's jaws; Tim's anecdote of accidentally traumatizing a reptile; to make money helping reptiles relax before being "factory farmed" (so the meat tastes better) or before being smuggled into the US along with 40 other reptiles inside a guy's trench coat; to hire a former reptile hunter/catcher who had a career-ending injury and can no longer physically do his job as a reptile therapist

Idea: A camera on a thumb glove that you wear while brushing or flossing which pairs to a tablet or smart mirror to show you live video of the inside of your mouth so you can see where you're failing to clean properly (stuck food, receding gums, etc.) so you don't develop a cavity there over time. Also: you'd probably momentarily pause brushing/flossing to look inside your mouth and then resume brushing/flossing afterwards; it would come with a base station for an electric toothbrush, the thumb glove, and a mount for a tablet on which you watch the video of your mouth; AI could find problem spots in your mouth and/or pester you if you don't floss; you could use the thumb camera for other things; paying for dental bills by withdrawing from your retirement account early or getting dental work done overseas
