Mind-Body Spirituality Through Sports and Athleticism with Alexander Meyer, UX Designer and Archery Coach

Alexander Meyer is the Junior National Team Head Coach of Archery Ireland as well as a User Experience Designer. These two expertises may not seem like they have a great deal of overlap, but Alex has found many commonalities between the two in his simultaneous career in both fields. Originally from New York City, the son of a painter and an interior designer who raised him to be artistically inclined, Alex has lived most of his life in Austin, Texas, having recently moved to Ireland in summer of 2019 to coach archery for the national Olympic-level team. Making it to become one of the 10 highest qualified Olympic-style archers in the world hasn't happened without tremendous and seemingly insurmountable setbacks, the greatest of which being the relationship he has had to forge with his own body, transforming that relationship from one that is adversarial to one that is collaborative only through open communication to and from the physical body, which for Alex has served as a portal to his own understanding of his spiritual nature. Here's the TEDx talk referenced in the episode with Tim Harford. Alexander can be found at: alexmeyer.design instagram.com/archeralexmeyer
