It is part of a series on the implementation of a credit flexibility policy in Ohio school districts. This web conference specifically addresses the Highly Qualified Teacher requirements and how these requirements should be coded in the Educational Management Information System (EMIS) for high school credits earned through credit flexibility options.

The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) is the government agency that oversees and supports primary and secondary education for Ohio's 1.9 million public school students. ODE works with the State Board of Education, Governor and Ohio General Assembly to shape educational policy and law and provide support to Ohio schools. Through the efforts of Ohio educators, the state has set high expectations for what all students should know and be able to do to succeed in the 21st century. ODE measures results and works to ensure educators, families and communities have the skills, knowledge and resources for helping students reach high levels of achievement, graduate and succeed in life.

The Great Lakes East Comprehensive Center, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, is operated by Learning Point Associates. Great Lakes East, which focuses its work in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio, is part of the network of 16 regional comprehensive centers and five national content centers. The regional comprehensive centers provide technical assistance designed to raise the capacity of states to help districts and schools meet the goals of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act.
