Money can lead people to devious ends. This was the case for Daniel Serafini, the ex-Major League Baseball player who was found guilty of shooting his in-laws at their home in Lake Tahoe, California. Instead of being sentenced, a judge recently granted a motion that could lead to a new trial. For the second case, Katie breaks down the scientific evidence that led to the acquittal of Christopher Wolfenbarger, a Georgia man accused of killing and dismembering his wife, Melissa. Melissa was the daughter of Carl Patton Jr., better known as the “Flint River Killer,” a convicted serial murderer responsible for five killings in the 1970s. With both her husband and father tied to violent crime, Katie asks: how did tragedy come to define this Georgia family? Crime House Daily is a Crime House Original Podcast, powered by PAVE Studios.
