88: INFAMOUS: Alice Crimmins

2019-07-0801:05:0599

Long before Casey Anthony there was another mother America loved to hate... Alice Crimmins. When her children went missing from their room one summer night, the police and the press were quick to point the finger at the "sex-crazed" mother. At the start of the women's lib movement, Alice stood for everything that threatened status quo of how a wife and mother should behave. But over 50 years later we can re-examine the case and her multiple trials to see if there really was a case against Alice or if she was the victim of a witch hunt. Learn more about your ad choices. In August of 1976, the bodies of a young man and woman were found in rural Sumter County, South Carolina. BUT the Crime Junkies have a chance to change that. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

My theory is that he sold her into sex slavery and took the money. That's how he was able to live without a job for 6 months!

I wish Ashley would do these by herself. Britt is annoying and moronic.

Britt made some really solid points/contributions to this one! I hope she keeps building that confidence to participate, and not just barely speak. She really adds to it!

Guys, people who look more deeply into this case tend to believe that Adnan is guilty. I haven't gone through all of the documents/records myself, but please at least take a look online (like on Reddit) and read the arguments from people who believe in Adnan's guilt.

My question is why is it so hard to believe that someone invented a device that detects human remains? How do you think every other type of device or technology began? This doctor could very well be on to something and people need to be more open minded and objective, rather than jumping on the bandwagon. The police are hiding something in my opinion if nothing has been spoken of in 7 months, and the fact that the officers report was never located in the beginning. The fire chief had inside connections apparently.

Interesting that the first "bag" that was found in the small pond was turned over to police and they took it, whereas the second backpack wasn't taken seriously until they revealed the contents of it. Just a side thought.

I'm sure Britt is a very wonderful and sweet person, and I can imagine she does a ton of work behind the scenes for the show, but her commentary doesn't add anything. It actually ruins it and it's incredibly distracting. I'm always taken away from the story and wonder 'what was the point of saying that?' and why do the interjections always sound so scripted? The show would be a thousand times better with one narrator, similar to Casefiles.

my grandpa was framed for a drug charge in Sonora, MX and spent like 4 years in the prison in Nogales, MX trying to prove he was innocent. Interestly enough- his lawyers office and all his files were burned too. Must be a typical Mexico M.O. It was AWFUL for my family.

This is incredible. It makes me think of True Detective on HBO. Now that we have tools that can help us see the info the vastness is dawning on us. This is the news I keep tabs on that appears to have gone very quiet, do y'all remember this? https://amp.news.com.au/national/canadian-investigation-leads-to-arrest-of-65-australians-among-341-charged-world-wide-for-child-sex-website/news-story/3335d7bd4e53f1e77c32d9aa9438af2c
