Since 2014, the mysterious deaths of Joyce and John Sheridan have been a major topic of conversation in Skillman, New Jersey. And as you might expect from the title, the story I have for you today is not as cut-and-dried as certain city officials would have you believe. In fact, the deeper I dove into this story, the more confused, shocked, and angry I became. This case could be a simple mishandling of an investigation, or it could be a corruption cover-up… time will tell.Listen to WNYC Studios podcast Dead End: A New Jersey Political Murder Mystery.National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: If you or someone you know is in crisis, call 1-800-273-TALK (8255) for support and resources.988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources, and best practices for U.S. professionals. Source materials for this episode cannot be listed here due to character limitations. NEW SHOW: Three

NEW SHOW: Three

2024-03-1341:137

After midnight on July 6th, 2012, three teenage girls walked into the thick Appalachian woods somewhere along the Mason-Dixon county line. Hours later, under the glow of a nearly full moon, only two walked out.The very last time Dave and Mary Neese saw their only child Skylar was in a grainy black-and-white video. In it, she's sneaking out of her ground-floor bedroom in the middle of the night, her purse over her shoulder, her brown hair swinging as she hurries across the small parking lot to a waiting car. What happened to Skylar Neese has become gothic American lore: the odd girl out in a vicious teenage triangle. But in the ten years since that fateful night beneath the West Virginia stars, a fuller portrait of what happened has emerged. From award-winning journalists Justine Harman and Holly Millea comes a gripping 10-part series featuring Skylar's family, closest friends, and law enforcement who lived the case—and are still living it. Make sure you follow Wavland’s new series, Three, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts so you’re the first to know when the rest of the series drops. And don’t forget, there are already 4 more episodes waiting for you right now!

i believe he got off work and went to Beth's, and she told him she had a new boyfriend and was leaving him. He got angry, killed her, and then went home with injuries. Viv takes him to the hospital after agreeing to stay together for the kids. When they get home, he kills Viv and frames Viv. That explains most things, even the 2 knives, one with Beth one in the car. Everything after the hospital is part of the cover-up it also explains the semen that is fresh, which he says no sex that day.

there is no justice in our country, esp for people of color, and even more for indigenous people.

first off, I'd like to start by saying India has the dumbest police force and government in the criminal justice system I've ever heard of. next off I would like to say that hemorrhoids and a noose were probably secretly making Whoopi and the family found out about it and killed them both because who wouldn't have keys to these doors and they're pretending like they don't. I don't know the whole thing sounds stupid and their government sounds like they're morons

so I was diagnosed with depression and put on meds and my mood swings got WAAAAAY worse, and both my doctor and my therapist were like "Nope! you're not depressed, you're bipolar!" and immediately changed my meds.

This is my favorite crime podcast, perhaps favorite podcast per say. But this episode, The Frog Fellow was a God awful terrible waste of time, boring, scripted, already known, utterly pointless.. Just an abject meaningless. If a recapitulation of everything we've seen to date, none of which strikes me as relevant, hopeful or meaningful... if these are the voices that you want to put yourself to sleep, play on. nothing compelling here
