Do you ever promise yourself that this time will be different… only to slip back into old patterns and feel like you’ve failed again? Maybe it happens after a long day, a wave of emotions, or a craving that just feels too strong. Suddenly you’re thinking, “Why can’t I just stay on track?”If you’ve been stuck in this loop, I want you to know this: nothing is wrong with you. The problem isn’t your motivation, your discipline, or your desire to change. The real issue is the idea of “the track” itself — a rigid, unrealistic concept diet culture created that sets you up to feel defeated before you even begin. In this episode, we’re unpacking why this belief feels so true, how it’s been silently shaping your behaviors around food, and what you can do instead to finally feel grounded, confident, and free.In this episode, you’re going to walk away with practical tools and compassionate insights that will help you understand your cravings, honor your emotions, and reconnect with the version of you who genuinely wants to feel better — not punished, pressured, or judged. Here’s what you’ll take away from this episode:🌟Why the “on track/off track” mindset keeps you stuck in guilt, shame, and all-or-nothing thinking🌟 How engineered foods and diet pressure have shaped your relationship with hunger and cravings🌟 The deeper emotional patterns that shows up when you feel overwhelmed or disconnected from your goals🌟 How to identify the parts of you — including your protective “Broken Heart Island girl™” — that reacts to stress and emotional eating🌟 Practical steps to rebuild consistency with kindness instead of criticism🌟 A gentler, more sustainable way to approach weight loss, through self-care, and your relationship with yourself. This episode is your permission to stop striving for perfection and start building a healthier, more compassionate path forward with YOU as your teammate, not your enemy. When you release the pressure to be flawless, you create space for real growth, honest self-love, and the confidence you’ve been craving. 💛Thank you for tuning in to this episode of the Crush Cravings with Confidence podcast!Grab your Free Self Discovery Mindset Guides Here!Free Self Discovery Mindset GuidesHere are the ways to work with me and take immediate action now: ⬇️⬇️⬇️FREE Food Freedom Discovery CallMindset Makeover: Stop Eating Your Emotions in 21 DayConnect with me:Coach Lisa Callahan Facebook PageInstagramWomen's Emotional Eating Community Support Group on FacebookSubscribe, Turn on Notifications & Share:Don't miss an episode! On today’s Crush Cravings with Confidence podcast, I’m opening up about the sneaky habit of blaming food — and why it’s one of the biggest reasons women stay stuck in the cycle of emotional eating and food cravings. We’ve all been there… blaming processed foods for being addictive, blaming our culture or upbringing for our habits, even blaming ourselves for being a “foodie” or a “picky eater.” But here’s the truth: as long as we’re pointing the finger at food, we’re ignoring what’s really driving our cravings. And that’s exactly what keeps the cycle of binge eating, guilt, and self-sabotage alive. In this Episode, You’ll Learn:✨ Why food isn’t actually the problem when it comes to emotional eating.✨ The truth about how processed foods are engineered to hit your brain’s “bliss point” and make you crave more.✨ How calling yourself a “foodie” can sometimes be denial in disguise (and what it really means to love food).✨ The sneaky way labels like “picky eater” or “sugar addict” protect you from facing the deeper issue.✨ A powerful question to help you uncover what’s really underneath your cravings.✨ How to stop reliving the same year over and over with the same guilt, shame, and food obsession. This isn’t about giving up your favorite foods or forcing yourself into another restrictive diet. In this episode, I’m diving into something that so many of us deal with—whether we talk about it or not: the invisible food rules that run our lives. You know the ones I’m talking about…The rules that say what time you're “allowed” to eat. I get it because I’ve been there. For years, I believed that if I just followed the rules hard enough, I’d finally feel good in my body. Spoiler alert: that never happened. But something shifted. And now, I want to walk you through exactly how to let go of those old, exhausting rules and start building a new kind of relationship—with food, and with yourself. What You’ll Learn in This Episode:🌱 What the diet mentality really sounds like : That sneaky voice in your head saying “you already blew it, so who cares?”—we call it out and gently show it the door.🧠 How conflicting food rules mess with your mind : I share how 30 years of stacked-up diet advice left me confused, frustrated, and scared to trust myself around food.💡 The 3-step system I teach my students : Simple, practical tools to help you pause, reflect, and choose a better path—one tiny decision at a time.📖 The truth about emotional eating advice : Why just asking “what am I feeling?” doesn’t always help—and what to explore instead for real change.🧡 The power of neutral language : We talk about ditching “good” and “bad” labels and practicing kinder, gentler self-talk that leads to healing.I hope this episode feels like a soft place to land. You’re not broken, and you’re not alone. You’re growing—and that’s beautiful.Until next time, keep showing up for yourself. Today’s episode is a tender and eye-opening one because we’re talking about something that sneaks into so many of our lives without us even realizing it — self-sabotaging with food. It’s about emotional patterns, unspoken needs, and sometimes… a fear of what happens when things do go well. Yep — success and safety can feel scary when we’ve never truly had them. But the good news? You don’t have to stay in that loop. One of the most powerful moments in this episode is when I talk about what it really means to connect with your soul — not through a routine or a list, but through the simple act of being present with yourself, even for two minutes. I also share a sweet bedtime practice that’s helped me rewrite my mornings, and a breathwork tool you can use anytime you feel a craving or spiral coming on.What You’ll Learn in This Episode:✨ The Real Reason Behind Self-Sabotage with Food: It’s not about willpower—it’s about protection. Welcome to part 4 of our special 5-part series on changing your relationship with food — from the inside out. In this episode, I open up about how emotional eating is often rooted in deep, subconscious habits and identity loops. You might think you’re just “craving sugar,” but really, your inner wiring is leading you down the same emotional path, over and over. But here’s the magic: you can rewire it. And today, I’ll show you how. 💛I share some really personal stories in this episode, including one about how I used to dread the grocery store cookie aisle — and what changed in me so that now I can walk through with total peace. That’s what happens when you do the deeper work, and that’s exactly what I want for you. What You’ll Learn in This Episode:🔄 How your subconscious identity drives your behaviors — and how changing “who you are” leads to automatic new habits📖 A powerful visual metaphor (the sidewalk story!) that makes understanding emotional habits so much easier🙈 Why I used to hold my breath near the cookie aisle — and what helped me finally walk through it without a second thought💡 The shift from “trying to avoid” cravings to simply not hearing them anymore — because you’ve become someone new🌟 The beauty of walking down a new street — and how you can begin creating that path for yourself, one choice at a timeCravings don’t mean you’re broken. They mean you’re human. And the more we understand ourselves, the easier it gets to make empowered choices instead of automatic ones. I’ve walked this road, I get how hard it can feel — and I promise, there is freedom on the other side. This work is about so much more than food… it’s about finally feeling at home in your own skin. You’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself. We’ve got this. Before you go, don’t miss out on my FREE "Habit Buster" Masterclass on May 20 at 3:00 PM EST!
