In this episode, Tim and Jo speak to Dr. Cecilia Bukutu, CUE's Dean of Science. Cecilia is Chair of the Department of Public Health and one of that department's Professors. She also administers the cross-institutional Mentorship and Resilience Program (MRP) to help Black students find impactful career mentorships and networks.
Cecilia tells the story of her own journey as a woman of colour navigating the twists and turns of a career in science, adapting to the unexpected with the help of a network of colleagues and friends. Her story is inspiring for its honesty and emphasis on relationships.
In this special International Women's Day episode, Tim steps aside for a panel of four women, centring their experiences in professional settings and beyond.
Beverly Wainwright is CUE's Supervisor of Custodial and Security Services, Glenda Stirling is an Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator for the Drama program, and Dr. Barb van Ingen is Vice President Academic & Provost.
