Description
Hello! I'm Daniru and I'm a Sri Lankan living in Australia currently in the final year of my bachelors. Tag along as I talk about moving countries at 16, the importance of perspective and how hope should not be belittled. But also about pop culture and things YOU'VE always wanted to talk about.

In this episode I discuss the reality of our existence basing it off of Cartesian skepticism, using The Truman Show (1998) to move it along more colourfully. How can we be sure we exist? Can we be sure? You do exist, but there are some things that we might never know about how we exist. Listen in to find out more!

Sometimes you're happy to build something knowing its got to come down :)
This is a re-upload having adding a new part to the episode to clear-up a misinterpretation of a metaphor used in the initial version. I only made this addition as it reflects my true intentions behind what I was trying to say at the time more clearly. Don't take these things too literally, everything else remains unchanged x.

Ever think about what could have happened when a human who had never met another human met for the first time? This is my take, and it happens in a world that I want you to picture as illustrated by Salvador Dalí.

In this episode I address the sudden uncalled-for existentialism that comes with figuring out our purpose (is there one?). Isn't it curious how all of nature bar humans come into this world fully aware of what their life's purpose is? I also (very) briefly touch on some philosophical concepts by Sartre, Nietzsche and Descartes but the main idea is for you to come to your own conclusion.

A country too proud for its pride. Sri Lanka is hell-bent on barricading its culture, which means it can’t adapt with the times. What does this mean for the LGBTQ+ community of the country? Also I talk a little about how ironic and pretentious our use of Buddhism is to continue this barricade, not even for regression but for a tragic stalemate.

Do you ever get scared that it’ll be too late? In this episode I try to talk about how fast the current world is moving and how difficult it can be for our generation to keep up with it all, and how the exponential rise of ‘trends’ can take the universality out of society unbeknownst. It also sucks to be young but to not feel it.

Why do we need reasons? What do we chase in life? Is the grass really greener on the other side? Does the other side exist? Is the grass even green? This episode is not about grass, its about the awful sense of dread that creeps up on us that whispers “you’re going to have to keep doing this for the rest of your life”.

In this episode I talk about the potential of the human intellect, and how even though there should never be a barrier to its endeavours, the morality behind these endeavours should always be thought about twice. Have you ever been doing something that you’re really good at but also feeling as if you need to stop but you just can’t figure out when to or how? Maybe I can help you out!
In this episode I talk about power relations and how devastating power abuse can be. A little bit of philosophy from Thomas More and Michel Foucault will help us and anecdotal accounts to attest to everything as always. Imbalance is realistic.
The cultures surrounding menstruation is extraordinary. It’s got its ups, but it’s got a lot of downs, especially if you hail from South Asia. This is my experience of what I think is a criminally unjust discriminatory practice that exists because it chooses to.
