Seed oils. Chemicals. Processed Food. Make America Health Again. There is a lot of noise out there across social media and the entire country about these topics and this week we're address these topics, Cut The Crap style.
We are joined this week by Dr. Jessica Knurick. Jessica is a PhD Nutrition researcher, Registered Dietitian, Science Communicator and women's advocate.

While talking about MAHA, we discuss how the movement started in the first place, what it's gotten wrong (and right), and the policies behind the problems that are impacting our health as a society.

Do you have a victim mentality or survivor mentality? The main difference between a victim mentality and a survivor mentality is that a victim mentality focuses on the past and a sense of powerlessness, while a survivor mentality focuses on the future and a sense of personal responsibility.
It's been said that telling stories where you are the perpetual victim keeps you from healing and moving forward. The answer, then, is being radically honest with yourself and accepting responsibility for your healing.

Whatsup friends!! This week we are catching up and getting into some heavy conversations about life! Traveling and eating out is so prevalent in today's society and we talk about how you can start to change in this area.
We also had an impromptu Q&A as we both answered questions from our Instagrams: What did Matt do to rehab is ankle, and what did Beth do to improve her cholesterol?
As always, health and fitness is not one size fits all so we discussed what worked for us!

Mental toughness! This week we are exploring a couple of key themes lately: mental toughness, taking initiative, and sustainable weight loss.
So often with fitness we focus on the physical side of our transformations, but one of the greatest transformations we can make is with our mental f*cking fortitude! Grit. Perseverance. A "can-do" attitude.
The mental side of fitness can be holding you back from reaching the next level or it can be the catalyst for change!

Offer solutions, not problems! This week, after catching up with each others personal lives, we get a bit deep and have a conversation about the real problems facing people in everyday life.
Hint: It's not the food! We rant and rave about going deeper than just surface level problems so we can begin to understand one another. Get to to the root cause of problems and stop applying band aids to them!
We talk about real issues such as childhood obesity and some factors that contribute to it. This is a topic heavy on our mind lately and it's one we are going to be exploring a bit further here on Cut The Crap.
Let's get to it!

Health doesn't have a f*cking look! This week we are diving into the world of dieting, disordered eating, and health stigmas associated with the way we look. We are joined by Registered Dietitian Jessy Baron who shares her own journey of struggling with her own eating disorder and how that shaped her health and behaviors.
So many people struggle with an unhealthy relationship with food without even realizing it. This is because of society's standards for beauty and health and if you don't fit that picture, good luck.
This was an incredibly moving interview full of healing, laughter, strength, and so much more.
If you or a loved one struggle with having a healthy relationship with food, know that you aren't alone, and you CAN heal!

Episode 150!! Wow! What better way to celebrate 150 episodes than by chatting with our friend Luc Zoratto! Luc is a sober warrior, father, and runner here to spread his love for running and his story of sobriety. In this episode we discuss Luc's decision to stop drinking and the burden he carried for 5 years after that.
There can be a lot of shame when someone decides to stop drinking and we are grateful for Luc for sharing his story and the shame he felt when he decided to stop drinking.
The conversation naturally turned to running, marathons, ultra marathons, and more! This was a high energy episode, so let's dive in!
