Stitched Up Heart began in 2010 in LA and since has become a force in the female-fronted metal band world. When their second album was released right at the start of a global pandemic it seemed like the wind may have been taken out of their sails without the ability to bring their brand of heavy music to the masses on stages worldwide. Now they are ready to right the ship as their 3rd album To The Wolves is almost ready for release and our taste so far is, shall we say, aggressive. Mixi is back on the Cutting Edge Countdown and Cutter's Rockcast and not only to we get into about music and touring, Mixi opens up about her vocal chord surgery and her passion of doing some animal rescue.

Joining us from outside his home in Finland just before coming to the States to kick off the Dance Devil Dance Tour it's Johannes Eckerström, lead singer of Avatar. The album of the same name is out and we go deep on metal philosophy, satan, the stage show, his chihuahua, and how to keep metal rock.
The band Saving Abel jumped on the scene in the early 2000s and put out what is still a mainstay song "Addicted." Since then the band has had it's challenges. 18 months ago founding members Jared Weeks and Jason Null reunited and decided it was time to right the ship. With new music out and a tour calendar that is filled for 2023 I catch up with some old friends. Saving Abel's new song is called "Baptize Me" and it's available everywhere now.
Rory is the lead singer for the '80s-tinged metalcore band Dayseeker. It has felt like Dayseeker has been on the cusp of greatness for years but with their latest album Dark Sun that dream is coming to fruition. They are about to head out on the road with Silverstein, they've been booked on all the big summer music festivals and their latest single "Without Me" is now a top 20 rock song. We discuss all these things, say congrats to their peers Bad Omens on a number one rock song and even get into why Ronnie Radtke is now the biggest rock star in the world.
On the Rock Resurrection tour kickoff weekend, I went backstage at The Epic Event Center in my hometown of Green Bay, WI with John Cooper from Skillet, Tyler & Dave from Theory of a Deadman, and Adam Gontier of Saint Asonia. We caught up on details about the tour, their new songs, the love of rock and roll, and maybe told some dirty jokes along the way. This episode features quick conversations with all three bands in order of show opener to headliner
Daughtry lead singer Chris Daughtry just put out a cover song. Now normally that's not a big deal but when you release a cover on the song's 40th anniversary and include Lzzy Hale from Halestorm, it's a big deal. Plus, it's really good. The song is "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) by Journey and it's definitely a modern/heavy take on the classic rock song. Chris is back on the Rockcast to discuss why this song exists, working with Lzzy, how he keeps his voice in shape, and his take on full albums vs. singles.
Earlier this week Disturbed announced their touring activities for the year. The Take Back Your Life Tour will also feature Breaking Benjamin and Jinjer. Dan Donegan is back to go through this tour with us and catch up.

If you've been following along you may know the band Sleeping With Sirens and their singer Kellin Quinn well, but if not then let me introduce you to your new favorite rock band. Based originally out of Orlando Florida Sleeping With Sirens were put right into the fire with their debut album and have been churning out quality metalcore/hard rock since. It's been 19 years since the debut album from Alter Bridge. A band that was formed by the three members of the band Creed but with then, not as well-known singer Myles Kennedy. Alter Bridge quickly removed the idea they would be a Creed re-hash to become a powerhouse of hard rock and heavy metal. All this band has done is get better and better with every release and every tour. Now with their new album 'Pawns and Kings' they are taking another step forward. Myles is a humble dude who just loves music which is proven not just in Alter Bridge but with his solo releases and as the lead singer of the legendary Slash's band. I'm always happy to catch up with the talented Myles Kennedy.
Since their debut album in 2011 Rival sons have been nonstop and have made a giant fanbase in the process worldwide. On June 2nd they will release their 8th studio output called Darkfighter. An album that Scott says has the vibe and the music they were truly aiming for, but not to judge it on their first single "Nobody Wants to Die." As 2023 sets up to be the biggest year yet for Rival Sons we cover everything from sobriety and coffee to finally being let out of the cage to truly do what they love, play music and tour!
As we enter a new year there is nothing wrong with taking a look back. The legendary Edgar Winter joins us to go in-depth on his tribute album to his brother Johnny Winter. The album is called Brother Johnny and features a whos who of rock's biggest stars like Joe Walsh, Billy Gibbons, Ringo Star, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and more. The one that hits home the most though might be a vocal appearance by the late Foo Fighter's drummer Taylor Hawkins.
Now that the Young Guns tour has kicked off with Mammoth WVH and Dirty Honey. Now after having Wolfgang on last week our old friend Marc Labelle lead singer of Dirty Honey joins us. It's rock and roll and it's all about rock and roll, songs, songwriting, touring, live sound, and covering Prince songs. Oh and hockey, lots of hockey.
The name Van Halen and rock and roll go hand in hand. Wolfgang is continuing to prove that. With the self-titled release, Mammoth WVH is a piece of just sold hard rock with great songwriting. Featuring number one singles with one of those songs being a dedication to his dad Eddie, Mammoth WVH has definitely gotten people's attention. The album was 100% recorded by Wolfgang and has put together a killer live band to go out on tour. Next up is the Young Guns Tour with Dirty Honey.
Bad Omens are getting set to release their 3rd album 'Death of Peace of Mind' on February 25th. The music has grown and has been turned a little on its side since their first album in 2016. Briton Bond and Cody Quistad of the metalcore band Wage War join us from their tour bus just before wrapping up their mostly sold out with Falling in Reverse. The story of Wage War follows the path of a band that has earned the respect of everyone in the scene and then rises up the ranks. Proving they aren't just pure brute and might Wage War have toyed with a more mainstream sound in the past, but now for whatever reason, their fourth album 'Manic' has put them over the top.
You know Mike Protich as the lead singer of Red Sun Rising. Right before the pandemic had hit Mike along with Pat and Dave from Red Sun decided to start over as a three-piece band and do things a bit differently.
