What are the advantages and disadvantages of traditional methods of learning compared to the use of technology? How has the availability of information changed over time, and what impact has it had on education? The podcast episode features a conversation between a great-grandfather and his great-granddaughter, which provides a unique perspective on the differences in seeking and learning knowledge across generations. They compare the traditional methods of preparing for tests and seeking information used in the past to the methods used today, which involves the use of AI and Google. One of the most interesting aspects of this conversation is the great-grandfather's extensive knowledge in math, physics, biology, and other subjects, despite his advanced age. This demonstrates the importance of lifelong learning and the value of acquiring knowledge over time. It also highlights the importance of memorization as a tool for learning, which has been somewhat lost in the age of technology. On the other hand, the great-granddaughter represents the younger generation who rely heavily on AI and Google for information. While this may seem like a disadvantage, it is important to remember that technology has made vast amounts of information available at our fingertips, which has revolutionized the way we seek and learn knowledge. However, there is a downside to this reliance on technology, which is a decline in general knowledge and the ability to sit down and learn. This is because the ease of access to information can lead to a superficial understanding of complex topics without going into depth. In conclusion, the podcast episode provides a fascinating insight into the differences in seeking and learning knowledge across generations and the impact of technology on education. It highlights the importance of lifelong learning, balance between traditional methods of learning and the use of technology, and the value of acquiring knowledge that can last a lifetime. After listening to this podcast episode, consider the following questions:How can we balance the use of technology with traditional methods of learning to enhance education? What steps can we take to encourage a deeper understanding of complex topics and avoid a superficial understanding of information?

The importance of goal-setting and planningMany of us have asked our family members, friends and colleagues this question. Some of us may also have asked ourselves what our goal should be for the coming year. But have you reflected on what goal-setting actually is, and what it would take to achieve what you have always dreamed of? In episode two, D&Adi give some useful advice:To achieve your goals, tracking your progress should be a priority. Ask yourself; where did I do well, and where did I fail? What did I learn from my setbacks? Once you have gained some clarity on where you need to improve, it is easier to get into a good flow.Block out everything that does not serve you, and narrow your vision on the end-goal. Focus on producing quality work, instead of getting distracted by quantitative measures. Set your mind to it, and go all in with your whole heart. Focus on raising your minimum standards every day. If you can get 1 percent better today, that will amount to a lot in a year. Go to bed with a commitment for tomorrow. For many of us, this will entail letting go of some of our down-time activities, such as scrolling mindlessly on our phones. Think 80% education and 20% entertainment, not the reverse. Reflect on who you want to be, and the identity you want to create. Then execute accordingly. Do not be afraid of “no”, instead your should pursue it. Aiming high does not necessarily mean falling hard. You have to learn how to handle rejection, or else you will be at a standstill for the rest of your life.Remember; if you are not getting rejected, you are not executing to your full potential. First things first. Connect with god, and your family. Embrace your loved ones, and let them be your inspiration for success.Recommended book: 12 More Rules for Life by Jordan B. Peterson
