The bike is a tool for connection, and this common ground has served as a doorway for Professional Cyclist Peter Stetina to meet some truly inspirational characters who love to ride, but are masters in their own right. Join Pete as he sits down with craft brewers, wine makers, coffee roasters and chefs, as they share anecdotes of these two shared passions.

Kevin actually owns 2 breweries: The Healdsburg Beer company which he started in his garage and still runs today, and AVBC, of which he recently stepped into the CEO role. We sat down before the podium ceremony of the Fish Rock gravel road race, of which they hosted the entire event on their sprawling grounds, replete with a full disc golf course.
Katie rides some, but most her experiences come from the support crew side of things. Being the partner of my mechanic, Big Tall Wayne, she has traveled the world with him to locations such as Japan for races, and has insights and views from the other side of the barricades. At home she manages the communal kitchen in Truckee and can often be found on the infamous MogRog Food Truck, an old Unimog overlander converted to a food truck. The food is so good that I had to make sure they were the food purveyor for my Paydirt event.
Rawley founded Rouler as a way to blend his 2 favorite things. He is a keen cyclist and has quickly created the gathering place in San Diego for the post-ride beers. Rouler is a bike-themed brewery with all the names alluding to the bike, either in a romantic or tongue in cheek way. His beer is top notch too, proven by his recent opening of a satellite tasting room, in North Park near the beach in San Diego.
Tomme Arthur is the owner and master brewer of both The Lost Abbey (BWR host) and Port Brewing. As one of the most respected craft brewers in the nation he regularly judges beer competitions as well as continues to push the envelop in terms of beer perfection. He's an avid cyclist constantly challenging himself near his San Diego home and is a big reason the BWR is such a successful event.
Bill Shufelt left a career and lucrative lifestyle on Wall St. with the simple belief that non-alcoholic beer can be better, and that it has a place in society. Now, Athletic Brewing is known by many as the category leader. I'm proud they sponsor my gravel racing gig and even more proud to have gotten to know Bill personally. Enjoy his story of betting on himself and bringing a good idea to market.
Avery Brewing are mainstays and category leaders in the Colorado scene and American Craft Beer in general. Adam is also a keen road cyclist with an affinity for the BWR. Plus, we discover we'd actually met years before, on a wild beer-fueled night, with a heap of international pros letting loose!
Chris Cosentino is a Celebrity Chef who is an OG of the 24hr MTB race scene. He's an idea tank and an entertainer. Pete got to sit down with him at an event where he blends his 2 favorite passions into the ultimate experience.
Matthew Accarrino is one of the fastest chefs around. He owns SPQR, a Michelin starred restaurant in San Francisco, and is a regular at cycling events across the nation where he regularly is competitive and then hops straight into the kitchen to cook for all the tired, sweaty, and hungry souls.
Duncan is perhaps the perfect guest for this podcast's theme, he traveled the Pro XC MTB race circuit during the heyday of MTB and is a self taught wine maker. Today he makes up one half of the illustrious Arnot-Roberts Winery, and has found a way to blend life, work and sport without sacrificing on any of them.
I sit down with my friend, personal attorney, and fellow MTB ripper Don Winkle who happens to be one of California’s leading legal experts on the beer industry. He also gave legal advice to pro cycling teams in a former life. Listen in!
Today I sit down with my friend and manager of Trail House Santa Rosa, a community gathering shop and taproom that revolutionized the way a taproom could serve its community--so much so that it was recently voted best bike shop in the US. Go figure.
