DAY TWENTY ONE - Be Friendly, Happy Kwanzaa, A Special Press Conference, and moreWelcome back to Day 21 - we are happy to have you back again!Big news announcement today on the show, we talk about the special Kwanzaa Celebrations and we look at being a friend to othersWelcome to the Daily Santa Podcast - this is Day 21This is the podcast where together, we countdown to Christmas one episode at a timeFor the latest on the show or to find out more about us,Head over to our websiteToday we are going to be talking about: Being a FriendOne of the best gifts that you can give someone this year is friendship - whether you are an adult or a not, being a friend to someone could make their life better and yours as wellHere are 5 friendship keys.1. Be open, kind and understanding.Always be open to being someone’s friendEven if someone is different than you - you can still be their friend2. Be inclusive.“Don’t let anyone sit alone!”“When I taught little kids, we had a buddy bench where you could sit if you were looking for a buddy on the playground,” she says. “Just that tool alone let us really talk about what it means to be friendly with someone.”3. ‘Be there’ for your friends.True friends depend on each other. They have each other’s backs. They are a source of comfort to one another.Reminding them that you want to be there, in the good and bad times, to support them (and) showing them you care means so much.”4. Stand up for your friends. One of the bravest — and kindest — things a kid can do is to stand up for a friend. And although it’s an important part of friendship, sometimes it can be a bit scary to do if a bully is involved.5. Understand that friendships aren’t always perfect. We all do better when we have a friend in our life - is there someone that you can be a friend to?that new friend needs you , just as much as you might need them!Podcast created by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/https://dailysantapodcast.com/--- Send in a voice message: https://www.speakpipe.com/HelloDave
DAY TWENTY - Give First, Happy Hanukkah, Merry GIVE-mas, Santa news and moreWelcome to the podcast! We are on Day 20 - this is going by really fast! Our topic today covers Giving to OthersToday we look at giving to others being a giving person is very specialChristmas can be a time of great excitement and mysteryWe can't wait to see the gifts piled around the treeWe enjoy giving and receiving giftsbut what if there was a gift that did not come wrapped in a box with shiny christmas wrapping paper, no bow, and it didn't rattle around in the box when yo shook it?Giving first before getting isn’t always easy us to understand when we are young. When we give, we focus on others and today we are going to look at 4 ways that we can continue to be generous throughout the year.1. The Joy of Givingcan you be just as happy giving a gift this year as you are receiving one?when we find joy in giving we unlock joy in our livesgiving to others is not just a one day christmas event - it can be everyday2. Share your TalentsGiving doesn't always require money, a store or a purchase - you can give something that nobody else can give - you are unique and special.what is one thing you are awesome at doing - play the piano, write a poem? Be creative - because giving does not always cost money3. Generous with TimeWe love to do, what we love to dowhen we put away the things that we want to do - like our phones, tablets and gaming - we create time for otherstime is valuable because they don't make more of itwho can you give more of your time to?4. Generous with KindnessBe generous and kind with your wordsyour words can make people strong or weakgive back to others by building them up and making others around you importantLet's give our best this year, even if it does not come from a storePodcast created by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/https://dailysantapodcast.com/--- Send in a voice message: https://www.speakpipe.com/HelloDave
DAY NINETEEN - Be Helpful, Selfie shares a Santa Secret, Listener messages, News and moreSelfie shares the secret to how Santa's sleigh is powered! We get some listener messages today, Big news out of the North Pole and Santa is caught napping! We learn about being helpful todayare you a helpful person?Do you help others? Helping provides them the opportunity to grow up to be a better person.when we help others we build up our character.Christmas is often associated with giving and sharing. There is nothing more meaningful and fulfilling then to be generous to those in need especially this time of the year. This is why Christmas is also the best time to help others. Here are five reasons why helping others will actually benefit everyone:1. Helping others will help us to see life differently.Helping others will allow them us to see the world beyond our daily life.Being helpful will help to teach us to be thankful for what we do have and to be happy in the simple things. This Christmas, help them realize this by donating their old toys to someone that does not have what we have.2. Helping others will teach us about sharingSharing their time, talent and treasures will help them realize that Christmas is not about how much they will receive but how much they can give. That whatever material or financial “excesses” we may have in life will have more meaning when shared with others in need.3. Helping others makes us aware of our communityMake it a Christmas tradition to do random acts of kindness such as giving a bottle of water to a tired security guard in a mall or sending a greeting card to a neighbor or friend who may be alone this season.4. Helping others creates more compassion and humility.we need to learn to care.Being exposed to helping others will help us to be humble instead of thinking too highly of ourselves. We will also learn to be more sensitive to the needs of others rather than being too pre-occupied with what will only benefit them.Make a list together as a family of the people they wish to help and how they think they can help them.5. Helping others will lead to real happiness.Helping others creates happiness for all.Knowing that we have made another person happy will allow everyone to experience real joy in their hearts.Try this!Try being a “secret Santa” to one person that you wish to make happy.Start with someone in your family, or a neighbor, or even a playmate.you are never too young or too old to be helpfulSanta is watching, let's be helpful today!Selfie, how do you help others?Santa how can we help at home? What can we do?Thanks everyone - let's be super helpful today!Podcast created by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/https://dailysantapodcast.com/--- Send in a voice message: https://www.speakpipe.com/HelloDave
DAY EIGHTEEN - Forgive Others, A Post Turtle, Selfie's Story , North Pole news and moreWelcome back to Day 18! Today we look at forgiveness - why it is important for all of us to forgive others!Selfie shares a story about a carrot and a lieWe find out what a Post Turtle is and we look at our topic of forgiveness by talking about...10 Ways to to Forgive others1. Forgiveness with no conditionsforgive regardless of the other person’s response - forgiving someone for what they have done or said is more for us than for them really - we stop letting what they have done hurt us when we forgive and let it go2. It’s Not About Being RightWhen you forgive someone, it should never be about being right.3 No rulesBy placing rules on our forgiveness, we are not truly forgiving.“If you make my bed for the next week I will forgive you.”That’s not forgiveness.Forgiveness is given without rules or conditions.4. It might take timeforgiveness can't be forced.when it forced, we really don’t mean it, nothing gets solved.Give it time.5. there are always 2 sides to forgivenessWe really only see our side of an issue. We need to be able to see things from the other side. Our side is only part of the story.Forgiving is much easier when we know the whole story and not just half of it.6. Don’t hide forgivenesswhen we don't forgive, it can lead to all sorts of future problems.we start to not like people that we haven't forgivenwe see someone that we haven't forgiven and we turn and walk the other way - we don't even want to see them, or talk to them, ever again.this can be painful for you and the other personForgiveness is like a bridge that connects two people that have been separated7. The Inside Eventually Comes Pouring Outwhen we don't forgive people it can change us and make us not a fun person to be around - we become part of the problem over time8. Teach Them To ServeGiving forgiveness helps us to be humble and not proud.be mindful of the needs of others.9. The Golden Rule“Treat others as we wish to be treated ourselves.”what if we made a mistake and dis something wrong - how would we want the other person to treat us? Would we want their forgiveness if we made the mistake?however we want to be treated, we need to treat people in the same way10. forgiveness doesn't Keeping scorewe all want to be forgiven. Then tell them to do likewise.Forgiveness is not like sportsIn sports we keep score of the points - we put the score up on the board so that all can seeSome people keep score of all the bad things that other people have done and do not forgive and let it go! When we throw away the bad thing that happened, it means we don’t remind the person again that they did it. It means we start over. Our homework today - to think of one person that we need to forgive and then tell them that we forgive themforgiveness is a great way to stay on Santa's nice list.Podcast created by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/https://dailysantapodcast.com/--- Send in a voice message: https://www.speakpipe.com/HelloDave

DAY FIFTEEN - Self Image - Christmas Traditions, A Special Call, News, and moreIf you are going to be nice to others you need to be nice to yourself! Who do you see when you look in the mirror? Today is all about liking the person you see in the mirror we have special homework for you to do here on Day 15! Are you up for the challenge? Here is more about our topic... Creating a Positive Self-Image What is self-image? Self-image is the personal view, or mental picture, that we have of ourselves. Self-image are the words that describe the who we are, including such things as intelligent, beautiful, ugly, talented, and kind. The image we see in the mirror may be a real or fake view of who we really are. Based on this view, we develop either a good or bad self-image. A good self image shows us what we do well and what we can do better. A bad self image only looks at the things that we do not like when we look in the mirror How we think and feel about ourselves affects those around us How can we create a positive self-image? Self-image is not permanent. A healthy self-image starts with learning to accept and love ourselves. It also means being accepted and loved by others. How to develop a positive self-image Has someone given you a label? Is it good or bad? Make a list of your positive qualities. Ask significant others to add to that list Don't compare yourself to others what are you good at? Love yourself - you are special, there is no one like you you are unique Here is something that we want you to do today. Get a piece of paper and a marker or a pencil write down something about you that makes you smile I am smart, I can ride a bike, I can play the piano, I am a good friend, I take care of my dog, I love people, I am special, I make people smile, I am silly, I give great hugs Write down something about yourself and then stick that message on a mirror in your home. Every time you look at the mirror, read that note out loud - every time see it, say it and hear it - over and over and over you are unique, special and important there is only one you in this entire world. That makes you special - you are special see it, say it and hear it will you try this today? Ask your parents to help you - try it and see what happens!Podcast created by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/https://dailysantapodcast.com/--- Send in a voice message: https://www.speakpipe.com/HelloDave
DAY FOURTEEN - Be Creative, Meet the Elf DJ, Santa Question and Message, Selfie Loves Elf TubeWe share our podcast studio with the morning drive DJ - he drops by during our podcast to see what we are up to! Selfie tries "Elf Tube" - did you know there are tiny elf cats? Apparently there are - we didn't believe it either! We answer more Santa Questions on today's episodeWe also look at being creative6 Ways to become more creativeBeing creative allows us to be more flexible and become better problem solvers. When you can solve problems you are able to help others at the same time!1. Allow time to dream and wonderOne of the main ways to become creative is to wonder. Like why is the sky blue? Why does the ocean water have waves and not the water in lakes or ponds? How does gravity work? And so on. Find the answer to what you are curious about - this is a great way to be a better student - you will learn many things if you never stop wondering!2. Share what you learnSome kids are awesome at music, some kids are great playing sports, or reading, maybe math is your superpower! Help those around you that might not be great at the piano, or can run as fast as you, help your friend read better, or show your classmate how to understand a math problem. If you learn and do not share, you are not helping others!3. There is more than one way to Solve Every ProblemThere are multiple ways to solve a problem and also different perspectives to look at everything. Be open to others, how they do things, how they think - you can learn a lot from others around you4. Be CuriousWe are born curious. When you are thirsty you get a drink of water, when you are curious you fill up your knowledge tanks with information that will help you for the rest of your life!5. Read for funLimit TV or other screen time of your kids to make room for creative hobbies like reading as it encourages thought activity which in turn promotes creativity. If you can read for fun and not because you have to, you will fall in love with books6. Try something newTry something new - something that you have never done, you might find that you could unlock a fun new activity, sport or hobby that you would have never known about if you had not tried it for the first timeBeing creative is very important - it helps us to think big, accept others and their differences and become a better personBe creative today - try something new!Podcast created by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/https://dailysantapodcast.com/--- Send in a voice message: https://www.speakpipe.com/HelloDave
DAY THIRTEEN - Be Positive, Selfie's New Toy, Santa News and FactsSelfie plays with his new Elf-Alexa, we look at how we can be more positive, check out our Christmas Song Choices this year and much more! Here are four ways that we can be more positive:Always Give Your Best Effort – If we give our best effort in all that we do and think we will be able to realize what they are truly capable of. Trying hard can lead to more confidence, and help us to develop a positive attitude about the world around usGive Back To Your Community – Volunteering as a family can help us to connect with others. Even activities as simple as helping others, spending time with someone that is lonely or giving to people in need, these acts help us to focus on our community Our actions can make a positive difference in the world, buy helping others we will be more positive about who we are, and about our community.Practice Positive Self-Talk – We need to use gentle words when talking to others. A great way to develop this skill is to talk to ourselves as if we were talking to our best friend. If we wouldn’t say something mean to our best friend or loved one, we shouldn’t say it to ourselves. The way we think directly impacts our behavior and feelings about the world. If we can think positively about ourselves, we will likely feel the same way about the world around us.Take Ownership & Responsibility For our Actions – We all need to realize that we have control over the outcomes of the challenges that we face. Reducing anxiety and practicing problem-solving skills at a young age can have a huge effect on how we think and act for the rest of our lives. Being confident is one of the best ways to help encourage positive thinking.Podcast created by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/https://dailysantapodcast.com/--- Send in a voice message: https://www.speakpipe.com/HelloDave

We hope this has been elftastic fun for you so far!Candy Cane Cookies have arrived, or have they gone missing? We are going to talk about patience, but you will have to wait for it!Doctor Wait, Santa's family Doctor drops in with some great advice for us at this busy time of the year!Patience is a skill. And like all skills, patience can be learned.Just like learning to walk, ride a bike or playing a pianoWe can learn patience, and get better at being patient as we work on itThe best way to learn patience is to practice patiencePatience is not simply the ability to wait. It’s how we behave while we’re waiting. Here are 4 things to consider about patience - talk about these things with your family to see how you can add these to your dayONE - When learning patience, start smalljust like learning anything, you will not be great at something if you never trylittle babies are not very patient - when they want something, they want it right now!we have to learn patience - that is a lot of workTWO - We have to learn how to wait for what we wantWe need to take turns, allow someone to go first, put someone else ahead of usTHREE - realize that being patient is hard workWe wait for a bus, wait for dinner, wait for our friend to catch up, we do a lot of waitingFOUR - learning patience is not just for adultswhen we start learning and practicing patience as a child, we will use what we learn as an adultit is no fun to be asked to wait for our turn, but if we can learn how to wait, we will see it pay off in the futureSo I told you to wait to find out what patience was, didn't I...do you know, that waiting to hear what patience is, that waiting to the end to find out what it is was actually being patient?Patience is simply being calm, realizing that there are other people involved and allowing others time and spaceat this busy time of year there is very little patience, honking car horns, pushing and shoving, angry responses to people in our way, or doing things that make our day worse - those are the people that need patienceRemember you have to learn it patience is not free!See you tomorrow! We would love to hear form you!!Podcast created by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/https://dailysantapodcast.com/--- Send in a voice message: https://www.speakpipe.com/HelloDave

DAY SIX - Don't Make Others Feel Small, Santa shares Secrets About His Sleigh, New Streaming Service Elf FlixToday we talk about - walking in someone else's shoes, - how to make others feel better about themselves, - we share a secret about Santa's Sleigh- Santa answers some messages from listeners- The Santa Daily News,- and a new streaming service, just for elves called - Elf FlixOk everyone, Santa has provided his suggested topic for today's show - Santa wants to remind us that we should always make others feel big, and never make people feel small.Well Selfie, that is interesting - yes elves are small, and that makes you and the rest of the other amazing elves here at the north pole special. For the adults and kids listening, making someone feel small is something that many people around the world do to each other - and it is really sad.You can make someone feel small, or not important just by the way you treat them. We all remember the story of Rudolph - remember, he wasn't included in the games that his friends were playing - so he felt like he didn't belong, that his friends didn't want him to be apart of the group - he felt small, not like an elf small, just small or not as important as everyone else. Some times people can be mean - they say or do things that don't include other people - sometimes, these people end up on Santa's naughty list and they don't even know that they are making others feel small. We need to be gentle with others around us - our friends at school, brother or sister, adults and teachers, we should never treat someone in a way that makes them feel small - or another big person word is - insignificant or meaningless. Everyone is significant and full of meaning - even if they don't look like, act like, think like, play like or come from the same place that you do.Santa wants us all to think about others first - to look at the world through their eyes, understand how they are different and unique - what makes them special.to do this some people say that we should walk a mile in someone else's shoes - have you ever walked in someone else's shoes before selfie?Put Yourself in the Other Person’s ShoesWhen you are playing with your friends and they have an idea or a new way to do something - are you willing to listen and to try their way or does it always have to be your way? Sometimes their way might be better, or more fun - sometimes your way might be the best choice, but how will you know if you never listen to others and try their ideas - see the world as they see it and learn from others.Let's look for ways to be more considerate of othersAnd that, is how you can stay on Santa's Nice list - it really does work. What will you do today to make others big instead of making them feel little. If you want more info about the podcast, have your parents help you and go to DailySantaPodcast.com and there you will find Santa's Spotify Playlist, Producer Dave's Movie Pick, Selfie's coloring pages, and even a way for you to get your voice and questions on the show!Your parents can help you - head over to DailySantaPodcast.com today!See you tomorrow!TwinklePodcast created by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/https://dailysantapodcast.com/--- Send in a voice message: a...

DAY TWO - Let's Be Honest, First Listener Voice Mail, A Santa Joke and Santa is HidingWelcome to Day two! We are counting down to Christmas with Santa and his friends! Thanks for joining us!Our big topic for today is about honesty! Let's be honest, we need to be kind and not lie to adults and to our friends or family - when we are not honest we hurt people around usLet's Be HonestImagine that you broke your mom's favorite item because you were playing soccer in the house. When she comes home, she asks for an explanation. What are your choices in this situation? You could tell her that you have no idea how it happened, or you could be honest and tell her exactly how the item was broken.Honesty is telling the truth even when it may be tempting to tell a lie. Many times in life, you may be faced with the choice of telling the truth or telling a lie. Sometimes those lies might be extremely tempting! You might want to lie so you won't get in trouble, or in some cases, to avoid hurting other people's feelings. No matter what the situation, being honest and telling the truth is typically the best choice.A person who is trustworthy can be counted on to tell the truth. If you look at the two words that make up the compound word of ''trustworthy,'' it makes sense: Telling the truth makes you worthy of someone's trust. You want your friends and family to be able to count on you at all times. If you lie often, people will begin to question the things you say and may not believe you. In fact, they may think you're lying all the time, even when you're actually telling the truth. We have our first listener call in, a joke submitted by a listener, news updates and yes, even a few bloopers! Hope you enjoy the fun!If you want more info about the podcast, have your parents help you and go to DailySantaPodcast.com and there you will find Santa's Spotify Playlist, Producer Dave's Movie Pick, Selfie's coloring pages, and even a way for you to get your voice and questions on the show!Your parents can help you - head over to DailySantaPodcast.com today!See you tomorrow!TwinklePodcast created by: https://truemediasolutions.ca/https://dailysantapodcast.com/--- Send in a voice message: https://www.speakpipe.com/HelloDave
