The sheer amount of racism, misogyny, xenophobia, and homophobia spoken loud and clear with Kamala Harris's defeat is staggering. My prediction? Trump will probably last six months to a year before Vance moves to have him replaced under the 25th Amendment. The guy’s a rambling, dementia-addled buffoon, so that shouldn’t be too hard. Project 2025 will start checking off every box on their agenda from day one. Now that SCOTUS has handed the president king-like powers, I wouldn't be shocked if this administration takes over all media and silences others, building its own propaganda machine. NATO will be dissolved, we'll pull out of the Paris Climate Accord, Putin will wipe out Ukraine and start moving on former NATO allies, and China will seize Taiwan. Trump or Vance will undo the Chips and Science Act, which poured nearly a trillion dollars into bringing chip manufacturing back to the U.S. Abortion bans will go nationwide, and with our Senate lost, Justice Thomas and Alito will step down and be replaced with younger ideologues, sealing white nationalist control over the highest court for a generation. LGBTQ rights? Gone. Contraception? Banned. Education will become a luxury, and kids will be working fields once every immigrant, legal or not, is deported. If Trump enacts a 20% tariff on all imports and 60% on anything from China, expect everything — including food — to quadruple in price. And that's just the beginning. There's a religious agenda waiting in the wings, and we’ll see soon enough how that nightmare unfolds. I debated whether to release the latest two volumes of the Throwback series since they were meant as a Victory Dance Party. Honestly, I’m relieved I didn’t pull the trigger early. There's absolutely nothing to celebrate — unless you're part of the 50% of bigots who are just fine with these fanatics targeting others, at least until it boomerangs back to you. And it will. For now, I’m cutting all unnecessary expenses for this podcast. I’d already planned to make this my final year, but you may see some slowdowns on the website and a loss of translation services as Rick and I figure out our next steps. For now, we’re stuck in this shitshow along with everyone else. If I can keep it together, I’ll continue my regular releases through the end of the year. Until the next time... I hadn’t realized just how dominant the Rock Dance influence was during this time, but looking back, it was everywhere. Many tracks from that era didn’t make it into these two volumes, but one that certainly stands out (next to Kelly Clarkson’s “Since You’ve Been Gone” on Volume 2) is the Jacques Lu Cont Thin White Duke remix of “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers. This song was massive, and you practically couldn’t escape it. This period also marked the rise of another French DJ besides David Guetta: Bob Sinclar. Though he’d been honing his craft since the late '80s, it wasn’t until this era that he seemingly exploded onto the scene with hits like “Love Generation,” “World, Hold On (Children of the Sun),” and “Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now).” His meteoric popularity even led to him headlining one of Hugh Hefner’s parties at the Playboy Mansion. The event was later released as a two-volume set of House and Disco, aimed at the jet-set crowd. David Guetta, of course, is also in the mix here with some of his early work, including Juliet’s “Avalon” and the huge “Love Don’t Let Me Go.” As promised, we replaced the rock version of Roger Sanchez’s “Turn On the Music” with the Axwell Electro House remix, which was the go-to version at the time. Paul Oakenfold (another 90s mainstay) was enjoying renewed success during this era, hitting #1 with “Faster Kill Pussycat,” featuring the incredible vocals of Brittany Murphy (may she rest in peace). For those wondering where this year’s earlier hit “Perfect (Exceeder)” originated — it’s straight from this time period, and we’ve included the Martijn Ten Velden remix, which stays true to the original but is more DJ-friendly. We also have to give major props to Peter Rauhofer (may he rest in peace) for his prolific output during this time. His remixes, which blended Progressive and Electro House, had wide appeal across dance floors. We’ve highlighted his stellar work on “Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera, “Killer” by Seal, and “Maneater” by Nelly Furtado — all of which hit #1 on the Dance Club charts. While we wanted to include his remix of the Vanity 6/Prince-penned “Nasty Girl” by Inaya Day, we decided it was a bit too much from one producer. Two DJ duos that went on to achieve massive success are Moto Blanco, represented here with Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You” (originally credited as Bobby Blanco), and Freemasons, who shine on Beyoncé’s “Deja Vu” and Faith Evans’ sassy “Mesmerized” — a personal favorite.

This set specifically focuses on 2005-2006. Electro House had already been bubbling up from the underground, but by 2005, we saw the rise of future DJs who would later become household names. People like David Guetta, Axwell, Kaskade, Fedde Le Grande, and Dave Aude, to name a few. This period also brought me back into the scene after having dropped out because the music from 2002-2004 had become too druggy, dark, and frankly, depressing. I just wasn't feeling what Stephane K & Creamer were putting out at the time. It wasn’t until Rick was out of town, and I went to a gay club in Atlanta with my bestie, LeAnn, that I realized the music was shifting. Hearing the Freemasons mix of "Lovin' You More" and "Mesmerized" lit a spark in me, and I knew the landscape was changing—bringing back my excitement for the scene. By this time, the big room stylings of Thunderpuss (Barry Harris and Chris Cox) had come to an end. However, Chris Cox carried on with their big tribal sound, while Victor Calderone, Hex Hector, Tony Moran, and Ralphi Rosario continued topping the Dance Club charts. Peter Rauhofer ventured into darker, progressive sounds—sometimes hitting the mark, other times not—but he was still in high demand, commanding high prices for his shows. If you're craving those memorable hits, Party Favorz has you covered. Check out our Top Dance Songs of 2000-2009 and Top Dance Songs of 1996-1999 sections, where you'll find the biggest chart-toppers in the U.S. For those more into the circuit anthems from this era, head over to our Classic Circuit Anthems section, where a 4-volume set awaits to blow you away. Over the next several years, the production styles of these early 2000s pioneers began to fade, making room for newer DJs like Avicii, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris, Soul Seekers, Wideboys, Freemasons, Moto Blanco, Seamus Haji, and soon after, Swedish House Mafia, among many others. The following decade was truly an exciting time for the Dance Club scene, with EDM becoming the dominant genre, alongside massive festivals that resembled rock concerts. One thing that didn’t change was the length of the songs. Unlike today’s musical landscape, where dance tracks often clock in at under 4 minutes, DJs back then continued the tradition of long, epic songs, just like their predecessors. I did very little editing here to let listeners experience true club mixes, with full builds and progression, instead of the short, catchy hooks that dominate now. It’s worth noting that while Electro House didn’t completely dominate the ...

For those who ignored what I wrote in our Gay Pride Edition 2024, the pieces are falling into place. Unless you've been living under a rock, SCOTUS has just made homelessness illegal, legalized obstructing Congress in counting electoral votes to confirm a President, sanctioned bribery for politicians and judges, and dismantled federal agencies overseeing our environment, food safety, consumer rights, and LGBTQ+ protections. In doing so, they've seized decision-making power from career federal experts, overriding the Chevron Doctrine that traditionally deferred to their expertise. After dragging their feet on whether former President Trump has total presidential immunity for absconding with Top Secret classified information back to Mar-a-Lago — something several people are currently in jail for while awaiting trial — on Monday, SCOTUS will hand down their decision. It's likely to be narrowly tailored, aimed solely at Trump, to avoid granting President Biden any special powers. This case highlights a crucial argument against presidential immunity: presidents are not kings. Granting them immunity from legal consequences undermines accountability and equality under the law, principles foundational to Constitutional Republic. This is just the beginning. If you haven't read up on Project 2025, wake up. It's already underway. All they need is for you to stay home, not vote, and let MAGA control all branches of government. That's the message. You might be encountering a surge of tracks labeled "Afro House." But hold on a minute – isn't that what Progressive House used to be called? This trend of rebranding classic genres isn't new. Remember when Deep House morphed into commercial House, then Future House? Great music deserves recognition on its own merits, not through constant relabeling. Speaking of great music, the recent TikTok wave has unearthed some fantastic reworked Progressive House classics. Think genre pioneers like John Creamer & Stephane K, Deep Dish, Scumfrog, and artists who masterfully used heavy percussion – Chus & Ceballos, Oscar G & Ralph Falcon, Friburn & Urik, Peter Rauhofer, and many more. Tracks like Rui Da Silva's timeless "Touch Me" are getting a fresh spin for modern dance floors, and the results are phenomenal! Back to the Future: Revisiting Millennial Dance Music The cyclical nature of dance music trends is undeniable. Right now, the spotlight's on late-90s and early 2000s classics, with artists sampling or revamping entire tracks. It's a trend we wholeheartedly support, and you can expect to hear these gems showcased in future Club Fusion and Peak Hour sets. This trend sparked a trip down memory lane for us here at Party Favorz. Remember our BackSpin series from way back in our early years? Last year, we aimed to revisit the glory days of 2000s dance music, following up on our popular Ultimate 90s House Classics series. We started with a Millennial Dance Classics series, but the sheer diversity of the decade made it tough to curate a cohesive set. After all, massive hits often land in our Top Dance Songs of the Year anyway. So, we decided to resurrect the BackSpin series! This allows us to delve deeper into specific genres that defined the 2000s dance music scene. Each BackSpin release will focus on a distinct genre, with a sprinkle of Trance and Electronica thrown in for good measure. These sets will typically span a five-year period, featuring a mix of crowd-pleasing favorites and some hidden gems ripe for rediscovery – think "It's Love (Trippin')" by Goldtrix and Andrea Brown or "Addicted To Bass" by Puretone featured in volume 1. For those seeking classic remixes by the likes of Thunderpuss, Hex Hector, and Victor Calderone, fear not! We've already covered those in our Classic Circuit Anthems series from 2014. The BackSpin Reboot: A Journey Through Millennial Dance Music Genres The rebooted BackSpin series will explore the vast and vibrant landscape of Millennial dance music, beyond the big remixes.

This year, we've meticulously selected and revamped classic tunes, infusing them with a fresh, danceable energy. A Festive Fusion of Classics and Contemporary Beats We've included timeless holiday favorites, ensuring this collection resonates with all our listeners. Mariah Carey's iconic "All I Want For Christmas," remixed by Low Sunday, headlines our lineup, followed closely by Kylie Minogue's "Every Day's Like Christmas," given a Stock, Aitken & Waterman twist. Donna Summer's 2009 special remix "Rosie Christmas" for Abercrombie & Fitch, and the powerful Cahill remix of Leona Lewis' "One More Sleep" add to the festive flair. The set continues with Bananarama's "Baby It's Christmas" in an Almighty remix, the CLX remix of the charity classic "Do They Know It's Christmas" by Band Aid, and Kelly Clarkson's "Underneath the Tree" in a vibrant Morlando remix. We culminate with the Illicit remix of Kristine W's "Oh Holy Night," bridging Christmas past and present. New Additions and Exclusive Remixes This year also welcomes newcomers to our Christmas dance series. Ariana Grande's "Santa Tell Me," in a unique mashup with Adam Turner, and the Choppe Davila remix of Ed Sheeran and Elton John's "Merry Christmas" showcase the evolving landscape of Christmas music. We also feature "Santa Clause Is Coming To Town" in a Dirty Disco and Traig remix, and the song that inspired this year's set, Cher's timeless "DJ Play A Christmas Song" in a 7th Heaven remix. A Balanced Musical Journey Our goal was to maintain a cohesive, engaging set, balancing classic Christmas lounge songs to provide a soothing interlude between the energetic first and second halves. This approach ensures a dynamic, yet harmonious musical experience for our listeners. Exciting Upcoming Releases Looking ahead, Party Favorz is excited to announce a special double-expanded Diva Series set next week you won't want to miss, leading into our annual Jingle Electric, Holiday Edition, and our year-end compilation of the Top Dance Songs of the Year. Sure, we've sprinkled in a few gems from the late 70s, but the spotlight is mainly on the 80s. Let's jump into it. Opening with a Bang: "Driver's Seat" Kicking off the set is "Driver's Seat," a 1979 classic from Sniff 'n' the Tears. Block & Crown bring it to 2021 with their House remix. It's a tune that has graced numerous commercials and TV shows. Although it peaked at only #15 on the U.S. charts, many of this remember this earworm fondly. Unexpected Remixes: "Sultans of Swing" One delightful surprise here is Block & Crown's fresh take on Dire Straits' 1979 mega-hit "Sultans of Swing." They titled their version "Swingin Sultan," and it's a beauty. This remix stays loyal to the original while adding a modern twist, making it a perfect throwback. Rock Classics Reimagined Speaking of rock, we've got more. The Knack's 1979 hit "My Sharona" gets a Funky House twist, thanks to Grooveband and Ghostmasters. Block & Crown also rework Ram Jam's rock staple "Black Betty," ensuring that these remixed songs from the 80s and late 70s keep the dance floor buzzing. Disco Gurls on Tina Turner's "The Best" Disco Gurls dazzle us with their modernization of Tina Turner's anthem "The Best." Titled "U're Simply The Best," it preserves the original's spirit while injecting it with a new groove. If only this had been available for our Tina Tribute set. This isn't your usual fare. We're talking about songs that evoke nostalgia, remixed by familiar names like Block & Crown and GhostMasters. Interestingly, these creators are mixing it up—literally. They're giving a fresh beat to songs that you probably never thought would belong in the Dance, Disco, or House categories. In fact, our buddy DJ Freddy Greene started paving this route a while back. Remember his Disco and '80s Dance edits? He was all about those DJ-friendly versions. However, he also began adding beats to pop songs, and I must admit, it left me a bit puzzled. Hits and Misses: A Mixed Bag of Remixes Now that others are jumping on this trend, the results are, let's say, a mixed bag. Take Heart's iconic Rock ballad "Alone." Now picture it with a House beat. Sounds odd? That's because it is, and even we're curious to see how you'll react to these new mixes. You'll notice the first volume spreads its influences across several decades but leans heavily towards the '80s. Volume 2? It's almost exclusively an '80s fiesta, with a sprinkling of late-'70s tracks to keep you guessing. There are definitely some throwback songs that will not only surprise you but knock you off your feet. Keeping Up With the Prolific Output of Dance Edits Just try to keep pace; these artists are pushing out songs faster than you can say "remix." All the selections in these volumes have been amassed since our Summer Throwback in June. There's enough material for a third volume, but we're saving those gems for a spring release If these revamped classics tickle your fancy, head over to Beatport and look under their Funky House category. You'll find a plethora of these tracks, and other DJs entering this realm. Spotify and Apple Music are also good platforms to follow these artists. Trust us, the tracks we're showcasing barely scratch the surface of what these DJs offer. Here are their Spotify and Apple Music pages: Block & Crown: Spotify Apple Music GhostMasters: Spotify Apple Music Measuring Success of this Throwback and What Lies Ahead We'll be keeping a close eye on the success of these latest Throwback offerings. Their performance will shape the future of further releases in this niche. Our first two original volumes were big hits, and we're hopeful these will follow suit. But only time will tell. And don't forget, Party Favorz thrives on your support. If you're digging what we're putting together, think about making a donation today. Your contributions help us keep the dance floor alive. This collection showcases some of the biggest dance hits and hidden treasures that defined this pivotal period in dance music. Among the influential contributors of this period were Gabriel & Dresden, whose transition from progressive to trance remixes provided a darker edge to club music. Their remix of Jewel's "Intuition" still ranks high among the Top 2000s Dance Music Classics. Jewel, known as an alt-folk singer, proved that thought-provoking lyrics could coexist with pop's perceived superficiality by transitioning into pop music. Mainstream hits of this period include Christina Milian's "Dip It Low", Janet Jackson's "All Nite (Don't Stop)", and Justin Timberlake's "Rock Your Body". These songs not only dominated pop charts but also set dance floors on fire, particularly Sander Kleinberg's progressive house mixes, a distinctive part of the Top 2000s Dance Music Classics. Lesser-known but equally impactful tracks such as Nina Sky's "Move Your Body" and Mylo's "Drop the Pressure" gained classic status in this era and received renewed interest with remix treatments in 2022. This period also saw ONO, John Lennon's widow, venture into dance music. Her abstract poetry, turned into dance remixes, was a successful experiment, with "Walking on Thin Ice", remixed by Pet Shop Boys and Danny Tengalia, topping the club charts. An unforgettable entry to our Top 2000s Dance Music Classics is the Heaven & Earth remix of "Clocks" by Coldplay. Despite not being an official release and charting low, its profound impact on club music was later acknowledged by Coldplay itself. For a comprehensive list of the best dance tunes from this era, explore our Top Dance Songs for 2000 — 2009, focusing on the 2003 and 2004 releases. Stay tuned for our regular programming next week. A rich compilation of some of the biggest dance hits from 2003 to 2004, this offering is a must for any dance music enthusiast, featuring unedited epic tracks allowing you to relive the era of massive remixes. One standout DJ/producer from this era encapsulated in this Top 2000s Dance Music Classics collection is Dave Audé, a preferred choice for remix production. With an abundance of rock remixes from artists like Jacques Lu Cont, Thin White Duke, Les Rythmes Digitales (a.k.a. Stuart Price), Jason Nevins, and Lindbergh Palace, this set offers a diverse mix of genre hits. Interestingly, all these remix artists have worked with Madonna at some point, with Stuart Price being instrumental in producing "Confessions On a Dance Floor" and leading her "Confessions Tour". This Top 2000s Dance Music Classics volume also showcases other noteworthy DJ/producers like Gabriel & Dresden and Junkie XL, recognized for their progressive remixes that harmoniously blend Trance music with rock-dance. The period also saw the rise of Electro House, with Benny Benassi's remix of Goldfrapp's "Strict Machine" and his debut single "Satisfaction" pioneering the genre into mainstream popularity. While Electro House was gaining prominence during this period, Party Favorz hasn't overlooked the underground hits from genres like Trance, Progressive House, and House music. However, most of the mainstream hits are reserved for our 'Top Dance Songs of the Year' series. We are geared up to release Volume 3 of the Top 2000s Dance Music Classics mid-week, followed by a final volume next weekend. Expect some Disco House and Peak Hour tunes to keep the party vibe alive. This period was a time of transition, with progressive and electro house emerging as popular genres while DJs like Thunderpuss, Victor Calderone, and Hex Hector became household names. While some of the top songs of the time had a darker sound, this series focuses on the alternative versions of the dance hits and an emerging sound that would inspire a whole new group of superstar DJs in the near future. This series runs adjacent to Party Favorz's Top Dance Songs of the Year from 2000 - 2009 companion series, showcasing the diversity of dance music that was not always present in what promo services were promoting to DJs. This compilation provides an appealing mix of familiar favorites and rare gems among popular disco songs, each carefully remastered for today's audience. A standout track in this volume is Chemise's "She Can't Love," an underground masterpiece from 1982. Its catchy riff might ring a bell due to its frequent sampling over the years. Purple Disco Machine meticulously remastered this classic, keeping its original charm intact while adding a touch of their disco-funk signature style. Another treasure among popular disco songs is "New York Moving" by Ahzz, given a fresh lease of life by DJ Disco Cat. The version included here is not only polished for enhanced sound quality, but also rearranged to create a more immersive listening experience. No collection of popular disco songs is complete without a tribute to the French band Ottawan and their iconic hit "D.I.S.C.O." Originating in 1979, this song has been sampled numerous times, even being covered by N-Trance and The Young Professionals. An interesting piece of trivia is that one of the song's authors, Daniel Vangarde, is the father of Thomas Bangalter, one half of the legendary French house duo Daft Punk. This eighth volume of the series is released with a heavy heart, marking the recent passing of Irene Cara, the phenomenal singer behind the theme songs of 1980s hits like "Fame" and "Flashdance...What A Feeling." Cara, whose powerful voice and infectious energy left an indelible mark on disco, passed away at 63. This final volume is dedicated to her memory and her contribution to popular disco songs. Irene Cara Escalera (March 18, 1959 – November 25, 2022), may you rest in peace. Until the next time...ENJOY! Album: Thank God It’s Disco Vol. 8Artists: VariousGenre: DiscoLength: 04:07:31 1. Party Favorz has been diligently curating a fresh collection of the best disco tunes for over a year, and we are excited to announce not just one, but two forthcoming releases. For those new to this journey, the 'Thank God It's Disco' series is a carefully curated compilation of the best disco tunes from the 70s and 80s. These classics have been intricately remixed, reimagined, or subtly updated to align with contemporary musical tastes, while faithfully preserving the essence of the original track. It's not rare for us to feature different versions of the same song, remixed by various DJ/producers, each bringing their unique perspective to the remix. Although there might be some unintentional duplications by the same artist, these are rare and typically occur due to a re-release appearing in my DJ Pool without prior knowledge of its previous inclusion. The upcoming volume is filled with lesser-known classics, exciting the most ardent disco enthusiasts. You may discover that the rhythm of many tracks has been sampled and used in other songs from the 90s or even more recent hits. Even for a seasoned disco aficionado like me, the joy of recognizing these reused beats in newer compositions is always surprising and rewarding. For instance, "She Can't Love You" by Chemise, featured in volume 8 of this series, is a great example. This underground house classic from the early 80s was the inspiration for Sean Biddle's "Get Up and Dance" in the early millennium. Now, Purple Disco Machine has remixed the original, spotlighting it in all its 80s synth glory. These unexpected remixes are like a pleasant shock to the system, revealing the depth of crate-digging these DJs must undertake to discover these gems. The age of these best disco tunes should not deter anyone from enjoying their infectious charm. Many of these songs form the backbone of today's hits, such as Beyonce's "Renaissance." Furthermore, these tracks have been carefully updated and optimised for today's listeners, ensuring their relevance and enjoyment. So, prepare to reignite your passion for D-I-S-C-O with these masterfully reimagined best disco tunes. It's time to hit the dance floor and ENJOY! In our previous post for Volume 1, we discussed how many of these iconic 2000s Dance Classics have become foundational in today's club scene. Hits like ATB's "9PM (Til I Come)", Alice Deejay's "Better Off Alone", and ATC's "Around the World (La La La La La)" have been reimagined into chart-topping hits recently. Moreover, the track "Blue (I'm Good)" by David Guetta & Bebe Rexha, which samples Eiffel 65's "Blue (Da Be Dee)", also known as "Blue (I'm in Need of a Guy)", is a key feature of this set. This collection also includes Afro Medusa's "Pasilda" and Earth, Wind & Fire's "September", tracks that have seen countless reworks since their release, with the Phats & Small 1999 remix starting the trend. Some of my personal favourites from this era, like Rui Da Silva's "Touch Me", Puretone's "Addicted To Bass", and Pete Heller's "Big Love", are also part of this collection of 2000s Dance Music. This set is packed with diversity, ranging from House to Trance and Progressive House, and includes works from several high-demand DJs of the era such as Knee Deep, Robbie Rivera, Roger Sanchez, and Illicit. These artists, still relevant today, continue to show their mastery of the craft. As we enjoy the cool days following the sweltering heat, stay tuned for the heat to return with our annual HW series next week. Until then...ENJOY! I took a different approach to this series, which immediately becomes obvious with the title. First, I started with 1999 because it is possibly one of the best years in dance music history. Many of today's biggest hits have reworked samples that have been turned into massive anthems for a new generation of partygoers. Everything from the late Paul Johnson's "Get Get Down," "Lady (Hear Me Tonight) by Modjo," "9 PM (Til I Come)" by ATB to "Around the World (La La La La La)" by ATC and "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eifel 65 have been plucked from the dance music annals breathing new life into the originals. Heck, even our lady Bey's smash album "Renaissance" is packed with samples from bygone eras. The other thing you'll notice is that this first set spans 4 years. The millennium was a great time for the evolution of dance music from Progressive House which began in the mid-90s and exploded by the end of the decade, to Trance, Techno, Hard Dance, French House, Filtered House, Funky House, Electro House and music that combined elements of all these genres. Of course, the advancement of technology had a lot to do with the abundance of offerings but it was human ingenuity that pushed the boundaries of what House Music could be. Needless to say, it's difficult to focus on just the hits because there were so many memorable underground hits as well depending on where you lived and the bars you frequented. If you're looking for the big room progressive sounds by Hex Hector, Victor Calderone, Peter Rauhofer, Thunderpuss, Junior Vasquez, or Jonathan Peters — you're better off revisiting our Top Dance Songs of the Year series, which starts in 1996 but it's 1999 and beyond you're after. Frankly, 1999 needs to be expanded but I haven't gotten around to it. Equally, five out of the six DJs mentioned have their own Legacy series linked in this article. Depending on what decisions are made with the future of Party Favorz next year — I may go back and do a series with just the big room progressive house anthems featuring these DJs and others. That could be a lot of fun. However, for this series — they were not included. I wasn't sure how this would turn out but this and the upcoming volume 2 have been on repeat in my car for several weeks now as I worked out the final track selections and I'm pleasantly surprised. There is a good deal of House Music styles here with some more Progressive House as it got redefined along with some long-lost gems that even I had completely forgotten about.

However, as time grew short, I had to place this project on hold. With the 4th of July holiday weekend upon us, I found the perfect opportunity to delve into my vast archive of classic mashups and bootlegs, fusing them into an unforgettable 'Summer Throwback Dance Party'. Their tunes have sporadically surfaced on Dance Club, Peak Hour, and Disco House compilations over the years, and acted as a treat for the discerning ear. What binds these tracks together is their shared love for the pulsating rhythm of dance music in all its vibrant forms. You'll discover old melodies reimagined, classic disco or 80s dance tracks seamlessly blended with iconic 90s Hip Hop. The vocals often echo the original artists, though sometimes they introduce a new voice that closely mirrors the original vocalist. While the titles may not instantly ring a bell, the moment you hear them, you'll find yourself saying, "Wait a minute, I know that tune!" While Block & Crown have owned this Funky House Music space for a while, others, including Richard Grey, Softmal, Nari, Lissat, and more, have also carved out their space in the throwback dance party landscape. More recently, Ghostmasters, The Soul Gang, Ghostbusterz, and Disco Gurls have made a noticeable impact. I suspect Nacho Chapado & Ivan Gomez are the creators behind these aliases, sharing these remixed gems via their Guareber Recordings brand. Their focus primarily lies in the realm of 80s dance, with occasional explorations into different eras. In tune with the early summer season, I've curated a playlist of dance classics that are the heartbeat of the 'Summer Throwback Dance Party' - the perfect backdrop for BBQs, family outings, or lazy afternoons by the pool. Spanning from the 60s to now, with a few fresh current songs with a retro feel peppered in, this compilation perfectly captures the essence of old school music. Some are straightforward reimagined classics tailored for today's dance floor, much like our 'Thank God It's Disco' series, but with a broader chronological canvas. Regrettably, some tracks couldn't be included due to their abrupt endings, which posed a challenge for a continuous mix set. Despite this, the 'Summer Throwback Dance Party' has been my constant companion for the past week, promising a timeless party vibe for all. If you're seeking an escape, this set is your ticket to a temporary paradise. It's a veritable sonic feast! Keep an eye out for the forthcoming Beach House series - all the tracks are compiled and ready to launch next week.
