Hi friends, happy Wednesday! I learned about a place in Alaska where more than 20,000 people have vanished — planes, hikers, politicians — and almost none have ever been found. And I had to do an episode on it.  It’s called the Alaska Triangle and it's a remote stretch of wilderness bigger than California and notorious for swallowing people, aircraft, and evidence whole. No wreckage. No signals. Just… POOF... gone. Today, we uncover the chilling stories behind those icey disappearances — from a massive military plane that vanished mid-flight, to a congressman investigating JFK's assassination who mysteriously disappeared and may have been silenced.  But... here's the thing... the deeper you go, the stranger it gets. Search crews swear they hear voices in the darkness, rumors swirl about an underground pyramid and apparently there's a government site there that some claim can control the weather. Is this just a deadly stretch of wilderness? A Cold War cover-up? Or is something far stranger hiding in plain sight? Forget the Bermuda Triangle. Because the Dark History of the Alaska Triangle is going to mess with your head. ________ FOLLOW ME AROUND Tik Tok: https://bit.ly/3e3jL9v Instagram: http://bit.ly/2nbO4PR Facebook: http://bit.ly/2mdZtK6 Twitter: http://bit.ly/2yT4BLV Pinterest: http://bit.ly/2mVpXnY Youtube: http://bit.ly/1HGw3Og Snapchat: https://bit.ly/3cC0V9d Goodreads: http://bit.ly/3IVnO7N Discord: https://discord.gg/BaileySarian RECOMMEND A STORY HERE: cases4bailey@gmail.com Business Related Emails: bailey@underscoretalent.com Business Related Mail: Bailey Sarian 4400 W. Hi friends, happy Wednesday! So the other night I was deep into my usual bedtime routine of doomscrolling, and I stumbled across this headline that said: “DID YOU KNOW: The Last Witch Trial Was in 1944.” And I was like… I’m sorry, what? 1944? Like while the rest of the world was fighting Nazis, someone was in a courtroom yelling, “She’s a WITCH”? Be for real. That sent me down one of the craziest rabbit holes yet. And I quickly realized… wow. Everything I thought I knew about witch trials… Changed. Forever. Not only was witchcraft something you could go to court for less than a hundred years ago, but the *FIRST* witch in America wasn’t even in Salem! The first witch trial in America happened DECADES before Salem! Yeah. So turns out, witches never really went out of style. And it all started way before you think. So I’m here to set the record straight on the witches no one talks about. Welcome to the dark history of Witches Who Got Away. ________ FOLLOW ME AROUND Tik Tok: https://bit.ly/3e3jL9v Instagram: http://bit.ly/2nbO4PR Facebook: http://bit.ly/2mdZtK6 Twitter: http://bit.ly/2yT4BLV Pinterest: http://bit.ly/2mVpXnY Youtube: http://bit.ly/1HGw3Og Snapchat: https://bit.ly/3cC0V9d Discord: https://discord.gg/BaileySarian RECOMMEND A STORY HERE: cases4bailey@gmail.com Business Related Emails: bailey@underscoretalent.com Business Related Mail: Bailey Sarian 4400 W. Hi friends, happy Wednesday! So the other day, I was googling jelly beans. Don’t ask why, I was in a mood. But I ended up falling down a rabbit hole, and suddenly… I was reading about Ronald Reagan.  Apparently, Reagan was *obsessed* with jelly beans. I guess he started eating them as a way to quit smoking. He swapped cigarettes for jelly beans. Inspired.  But once he was hooked, he never looked back. There were jelly beans on Air Force One. Jelly beans in the Oval Office. Jelly beans sent to space with astronauts, I am not joking.  At this point I stumbled onto a quote about his wife, Nancy Reagan, and let me just say...America may have called her the First Lady, but Hollywood had a slightly different title for her. If you know, you know. So today, I’ve got quite a story for you. Blow jobs, secret weapon deals, astrology, and a very intense power couple.  This man ignored a literal pandemic, while letting his wife schedule national security briefings based on his horoscope. So join me for the Dark History of Ronald Reagan. Let’s get into it. I sometimes talk about my Good Reads in the show. So here's the link if you want to check it out. Hi friends, happy Wednesday!  The other day I was craving a big fat bowl of Honey Smacks cereal with whole milk. When I was a kid, that was luxury to me. But I hadn’t had them in forever so I didn’t even know if they were still around.  You know me - I googled “HONEY SMACKS… DISCONTINUED??” Good news, they’re around. Bad news… I found out about Kellogg’s, the company that makes them, has been in some hot water lately.  We all know inflation sucks and it’s affecting *everything*, especially food prices. Tons of families across America are struggling to put food on the table.  So the media asked a Kelloggs CEO for his reaction on that. And his response? He essentially said, [SARCASTIC] “MAYBE THEY SHOULD EAT CEREAL FOR DINNER.”  Awkward. But this did get me thinking - why *do* we eat cereal for breakfast? Well I looked into it, and I stumbled into the world of John Harvey Kellogg, the man behind Kelloggs. And my mind was blown.  Because behind that sweet little box of Honey Smacks is a freaky origin story. We’re talkin’ culty health retreats, yogurt enemas, and a crusade against masturbation.  So buckle up if you dare, for the Dark History of …Kelloggs.  I sometimes talk about my Good Reads in the show. Hi friends, happy Wednesday! Listen… I know it’s not *officially* Fall yet, okay? But we all know Fall means Halloween, and Halloween is my favorite holiday. So I wanted to get started celebrating a little early this year.  I did a soft launch on my decorations. Put out a few pumpkins and spider webs. The crows in my backyard approved. And I decided this weekend, I was going to see a scary movie. I found out the last Conjuring movie was coming out and I was so excited.  This one is all about Ed and Lorraine Warren, the demonologists behind all the other Conjuring movies. And even though there have been *so* many Conjuring movies, I realized that I never looked into Ed and Lorraine Warren myself.  And listen… I’m left with nothing but questions. Were they legit? What made them so famous? And what was the reason they left the spotlight? Was it really because of one terrifying case, or, was the reason much darker? I need your opinions!  Welcome to the Dark History of Ed and Lorraine Warren!  I sometimes talk about my Good Reads in the show. So here's the link if you want to check it out. Hi friends, happy Wednesday! Did you guys ever see those ads for the Rejuvenique face mask? It was this electric face mask that looked like it was straight out of Friday the 13th.  The guy on the infomercials was like “imagine what doing 8 situps a second could do for your abs! Well, Rejuvenique is doing exactly that… but with your face!”  Well, apparently, years later, the FDA issued a warning about this miracle device. Turns out, the Rejuvenique face mask was actually causing their skin to sag and age *more.*  I could be wrong, but it makes me feel like it will only be another ten years before someone realizes that LED lights are *ALSO* doing more harm than good.  And this sent me down a rabbit hole of beauty devices that are secretly, silently, killing us. From UV lights at the nail salon to asbestos in hair dryers… I have some questions. So today, we are dipping our polished little fingertips into the world of deadly beauty tools. Because it turns out some of the stuff we do to feel cute - like the innocent little gel manicure - might come with a major dark side. Buckle up for the dark history of deadly beauty tools! Hi friends, happy Wednesday! I always wanted to date Robbie Sinclair from Dinosaurs. Anyone else? [CRICKETS] So whenever I drive by a Sinclair gas station, you know, the one with the dinosaur logo? I always think of him. His spiky hair. That letterman jacket.  I don’t care that he was a foam puppet. I was eight and I knew what I wanted. And what I wanted… was Robbie.  I was so distracted by my thoughts of Robbie that I never realized Sinclair Oil had a dark secret. And the whole time it was hiding in plain sight.  Back in the 1920s, oil was the new gold. Because out of nowhere, all of a sudden, everything was running on it. Literally. Cars and airplanes were taking over. And if World War 1 taught us anything, it was that we needed an emergency stash of oil for the military… Just in case.  It was like a gold rush… but with oil. And when there’s money on the table, somebody’s gonna get greedy. This is how a *huge*  government scandal happened. I’m talking corruption, shady deals, and millions of dollars stuffed into a black briefcase.  Today we’re diving into one of the dirtiest scandals in U.S. history. Before Watergate, before Enron, before Bill Clinton and Monica, there was… Teapot Dome. And yes, it involves a teapot. Kind of. Welcome to the Dark History of Teapot Dome. Hi friends, happy Wednesday! I don’t know if this is happening to any of you out there, but suddenly, everyone I know is having a baby. Which means I’m looking at one baby registry after another. Honestly I don’t mind, I love buying baby stuff. It’s so little and cute.  But lately, I’ve noticed that the stuff people have on their registry is *next level.* Now, everyone gets wipe warmers… so the wipes that touch the baby’s butt aren’t cold.  There’s toy subscriptions for infants, so your baby’s mental development stays on track. They even make these mini dishwashers just for baby bottles. What else will they think of?? The baby industry is worth over *$358 billion dollars.* I me an, things have come LONG way. But it was always like this, it used to be *way* simpler. But does that mean it was better?  Turns out, there is a shocking history behind baby products I had never heard about. Many products that were marketed to parents to *help* their babies actually ended up seriously hurting or even killing them.  And with new baby products popping up every day, I’m wondering… are we doomed to repeat the past?  I can *not* wait to hear your thoughts on this one - whether you’re a parent or not. Hi friends, happy Wednesday! One of my friends is having a baby, so we’ve been talking about baby stuff a lot. And of course… my stupid phone is listening. So now my TikTok feed is filled with all these freaking baby videos.  Usually I just scroll past it, but the other day… one of them caught my eye. It was a viral video all about how this girl got pregnant because she took Mucinex. You know, the medicine for chest congestion? I know… so random. I thought this was a fake video but as I did more research, turns out *thousands* of people have tried this, and tons of them swear by it. But here’s the thing: this is nothing new. Since the dawn of time, humans have been trying desperately to multiply. People have been drinking strange potions, and performing controversial rituals, and even worshipping a metal penis for *centuries*. When it comes to making babies, people will try anything. So today, we’re diving into the weird, wild, and sometimes terrifying Dark history of fertility.  I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History. Hi friends, happy Wednesday! The other day I woke up starving — like, hangry. So I wandered into the kitchen and stood there, just… staring. Eggs? Too much work. Pancakes? Ehhh Toast? Meh. I mean why is choosing breakfast this complicated? It’s supposed to be “the most important meal of the day,” right? At least that’s what we’ve all been told. But who decided that? Who made the rules on what we should eat first thing in the morning? So I started digging — and what I found is, breakfast has never been just about food. It’s been a battlefield. A PR stunt. A marketing goldmine. And sometimes… even a political weapon. From early doctors who thought bland breakfasts could stop “sinful urges”… to the government pushing a food pyramid on America… to movements that fought for kids to actually have access to breakfast …it’s messy. Like spilled coffee on your white shirt messy.  So let’s dive into it. Hi friends, happy Wednesday! You know, lately I’ve noticed something strange. It feels like every celebrity these days is... jacked. Like, not just in “good shape.” I’m talking veins popping out of places I didn’t even know veins existed. I mean, back in the day, you had, what? 2 or 3 action stars. But now? Even the comedians are huge. Like, why is Jim from the Office looking like he’s training for the Olympics?? All this got me thinking… When did we get so obsessed with muscles? Because I don’t remember Leonardo DiCaprio or Harrison Ford being jacked. They were just normal dudes. Where did it start? And is it even healthy to be so muscular? Today, we’re taking a little trip back in time to talk about the sweaty, sexy, and strange and Dark History of… bodybuilding. I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History. I sometimes talk about my Good Reads in the show. So here's the link if you want to check it out. Hi friends, happy Wednesday!  So you guys know I love dictators. And you ended up *LOVING* the Caesar episode… So it made me wonder what other, *older* dictators were out there who I assumed were boring but actually had these scandalous lives.  And that’s when I found out about a certain emperor we’re gonna talk about today. Not only did he mass murder an entire group of people, but he *personally* killed just about everyone who got close to him.  And you might think okay, typical bloodthirsty tyrant. Been there, done that. But … no. No one has ever matched this guy's freak.  Some of the dictators we’ve talked about are actually failed artists. And then they take revenge on the world by taking it over.  But this guy… it’s almost like he didn’t care about being in power at all. All he wanted to do was sing. And dance. And have insane orgies with eunuchs. But instead… he was forced by his mother to rule Rome.  Today I am coming to you with the insane TRUE story of one of the world’s first tyrants. This is the Dark History of NERO.  I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History. I sometimes talk about my Good Reads in the show. Hi friends, happy Wednesday!  For some reason, female nudity feels *way* more common than male nudity. In pop culture at least, we’re way more used to seeing women being naked and sexualized.  Think how many times you see titties on tv. And then think about how everyone loses their minds when there’s a penis on HBO or White Lotus. It’s rare!  Back in the 1950s, it was only men who had bachelor parties. Bachelorette parties? Not a thing. In those days, women would have bridal showers. And men got to have their wild night out.  But by the 70s, feminism was going strong. Women were feeling a little more liberated. They wanted equality, and that meant that we wanted bachelorette parties, baby. Like, we want exactly what the guys are having.  And this story is really about a few guys being in the right place at the right time. Because they started something over in Los Angeles that overlapped with the rise of porn, *and* female empowerment. Because what do you need for the perfect bachelorette party? Booze, penis straws and… strippers. Hot, naked, dancing men. I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History. I sometimes talk about my Good Reads in the show. Hi friends, happy Wednesday!  Do you guys remember earthquake drills? I grew up in California… So earthquake drills were just part of my life growing up. It seemed like we did earthquake drills nonstop. And despite that, I can never seem to remember what to do during an earthquake. Like, do I go to a doorway? Do I hide under a desk?  Do I stop, drop, and roll? Oh right, that’s for fires. Some earthquakes are so big they have literally changed the size and rotation of the earth. The whole thing terrifies me because I learned that sometimes, an earthquake is just the *beginning* of a disaster.  Earthquakes can trigger *other* events - like tsunamis, fires, and even… human sacrifice. And once upon a time, an earthquake almost caused a nuclear disaster. So let’s get into it.  I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History. Hi friends, happy Wednesday!  Do you guys remember that movie “Where the Heart Is?” It’s all about this girl who secretly moves into the store without anyone noticing, then she gives birth in the mattress department… and again, no one notices… It stars Natalie Portman, it’s great.  When I was a kid and I saw this movie, it was 100% believable to me. I mean when I think of Walmart, I think of this ridiculously *HUGE* store with everything you could possibly need.  I’m talking late night tampon runs, trashbags, nail polish removers, hot Cheetos and cream cheese… if you know you know. I honestly don’t even remember a time in my life when Walmart didn’t exist.  Millions of Americans depend on their low prices just to get by in this economy. Walmart is a savior to some people.  Others believe it’s the reason millions of Americans are in debt. I know… plot twist. Whatever you believe… Walmart is the biggest company in the world and *everyone* has an opinion on it.  So of course I had to get the tea for us. Welcome to the Dark History of WALMART! Hi friends, happy Wednesday! As a country, America has always had a complicated relationship with dairy. One month we hate it, the next month, some weird cottage cheese recipe goes viral, and we’re all over it again. But here's something I thought was a little strange. You never hear about dairy farmers or the dairy industry going bankrupt. It made me wonder why. Turns out… the dairy industry is in bed with the government.  Why? Because the government desperately needs them not to fail. And that’s just the tip of the string cheese. We’ve been brainwashed into thinking we *need* dairy from the time we were kids. And there’s a wild reason for that.   It involves Marie Antoinette, cheese caves, and… Dominoes? Guys… this is a wild one. And I’m not going to lie… you might think twice before ordering your next Taco Bell burrito.  Welcome to the Dark History of Big Dairy!  I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History. Hi friends, happy Wednesday! You know, after living in Los Angeles for a few years, I’ve learned a lot. Like, for example, if you tell people you live in LA, the first thing they ask about is celebrities.  Who have I seen? What were they like? Am I friends with Kris Jenner? It’s always the same question. LA is huge and a lot of people don’t realize it has a *crazy* history. Hollywood and celebrity culture is just one small part of it.  We’ve covered some LA history here on Dark History a couple of times. We did an episode on the Chicano Movement, and we even did one the Zoot Suit Riots.  During my research for those episodes, I came across an event I had never heard of… the Chinese Massacre of 1871. You might think by the name, this massacre happened in China.  But turns out, it happened right here in Los Angeles. It was essentially a mass murder killing spree, targeting Chinese American communities.  I wanted to do this episode because it’s one of those stories where I thought to myself: why aren’t they teaching this in school? Why has it gotten brushed under the rug and lost to history? Well, today we’re going to find out.  Welcome to the Dark History of the Chinese Massacre of 1871.  I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History. Hi friends, happy Wednesday! The other day I was watching Monster In Law - remember that movie? It starred J Lo, her character falls in love with this dream guy, they get engaged, and everything is perfect until… she meets her mother-in-law.  The mother in law is played by Jane Fonda by the way, she’s so good in it. And the whole movie is essentially about how this mother in law makes her future daughter in law’s life hell, so she can break up the marriage.  I caught this movie on TV, around mother’s day. Which made me laugh, because when most of us think of mother’s day, we think of flowers, chocolate, cards that say I love you. But for so many people, that’s not the case.  Sometimes moms can be the worst. Which got me thinking… who *are* the worst mothers in history? And what did they do to be considered *so* bad?  Well, let me just say, I wasn’t expecting to find *so* many crazy stories. I had to keep it to two. So let’s get into it. Welcome to the Dark History of Momsters. Get it? Moms who are Monsters?!  I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History. Hi friends, happy Wednesday! I love Wendy Williams. She’s an icon, she’s a legend, and “she is the moment.” From 2008 to 2021 Wendy hosted over 2,000 episodes of her show, got an Emmy nomination for best host, and honestly gave us some of the best memes and clips of all time.  Then, in 2021, Wendy kind of… Vanished. No one really said what was going on. Just that she was dealing with “health problems.” Turns out, Wendy was put under something called… a“conservatorship.” Now this was allegedly to help her manage her life and money in this difficult time. But a lot of fans, myself included, were left wondering… who’s really calling the shots here? And is Wendy in trouble?  It seems like we only hear about conservatorships when it comes to celebrities. But after I did some digging… it turns out, it’s *WAY* more common than we think. So let’s get into it. I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more Dark History. Just found this podcast and love it! Nestle sucks so bad and I will never buy another product of Nestle again! In April 2020, I bought a box of Nestle ice cream drumsticks for my 90-year-old parents. When I dropped off the groceries to my parents, I thought I would eat one of the drumsticks. After a couple of bites, I got a rusty, dirty paperclip in my mouth! I contacted Nestle and they were so generous (not generous!)! They sent me 3 coupons for $1.00 off my next boxes of drumsticks. Big BS!!!

I work at a Jewelry Store and we have been getting more and more requests for "Ash-Holder" pendants. They are usually shaped like a heart, but you can really get any shape or design, they are hollow and you can place some of the ashes of your loved one inside. The pendants get screwed closed and glued.

I dig Bailey's whole personality, the little quirkiness, and the fact that she's doing her makeup makes it feel like I'm just sitting there with her, listening to a really interesting story. I only came upon her last night, and have actually binge-watched several episodes already

I can't believe they let that go. 0.050" is HUGE. It's a twentieth of an inch. At places I've worked parts can get scrapped for being out of tolerance by a tenth of a thousandth of an inch. NASA was being grossly negligent.

As a Russian I ofc knew all of this. except the Wayne story xD hilarious. Some facts were a bit off, like you said in 1917 the Soviet union... the USSR was founded in 1922. Also USSR was not a country lol. Maybe that was a joke. Re the Hitler backstabbing, I guess it was just a misjudgement of timing, not that Stalin was actually super naive nad trusting lol. And you know, a matter of who does it first. But then again, I wasn't there. Maybe he did cry hugging a Hitler pillow (I was laughing so hard at that). Why people still love him... my theory is he looks like a nice guy, Hitler just is a lot less cuddly looking. However, if you ever visit any former Soviet state or Russia you will notice that there are Lenin heads and statues everywhere, with a bizillion street and other public location names with Lenin. All the sculptures of Stalin were cancelled a long time ago. I think some of the older generation remember life back then, and if it was good for them, then, it was partly thanks
