We went on a summer trip up to the Smokey Mountains.  I had no expectation that I would see or do anything that related back to Disney.  But of course, I was wrong.  I seem to always have this lens that is on the lookout for Disney-related things. And I saw a bunch that I call out in this podcast. The Gargoyle at Denver InternationaL https://youtu.be/fKVOtx7BlfkGlass blowing: https://youtu.be/BKOaRdxFfRkDon't forget about my video series: Lost and Found in WDWhttp://feeds.feedburner.com/LostWdwYouTube direct linkAnd hit me up on Twitter anytime @DisneyView
I haven't made it out to DisneyLand to see Galaxy's Edge, but I have watched a lot of videos and read a lot of blog posts about the new land - so I thought it'd be fun to provide my own perspective.  I'll be honest and say I don't love what I see so far....but there's still time to make some adjustments before it opens at Disney World. Of course, remember to checkout my video series, Lost and Found in WDW!http://feeds.feedburner.com/LostWdwAnd hit me up on Twitter anytime @DisneyView
Long before the Disney Skyliner, there was another skyway at the Disney theme parks (DisneyLand, the Magic Kingdom, and Tokyo DisneyLand).  I talk about the design, how it worked, and reminisce a little about riding it.In the show I mention Bob Gurr. You can find the show he appeared on here: https://anchor.fm/dashboard/episode/e3m1r3Hope you enjoy this look back in history.
Disney had never managed hotels before, but they decided to get into the business when they opened Walt Disney World.  I take a look back at Disney getting into the hotel business in central Florida.  There are two parts - the addition of hotels along Hotel Plaza Blvd, and the Hilton Inn South that taught the new Cast Members how to run a hotel. Two of my videos (Episodes #10 & #16) cover some of this story as well.Of course, remember to checkout my video series, Lost and Found in WDW!http://feeds.feedburner.com/LostWdwYouTube direct linkAnd hit me up on Twitter anytime @DisneyView
As I intended to, I visited Walt Disney World last week, and spent a couple of days doing some fun things.  Hopefully, I caught some of the things you asked me for....by far my favorite part of this visit was people watching: we had some amusing interactions.I also give you some updates about construction (there's a lot), talk about the monorail, and share some observations. We also had a chance to see the Blue Angels and I was churro guy!Hope you enjoy!Of course, remember to checkout my video series, Lost and Found in WDW!http://feeds.feedburner.com/LostWdwYouTube direct linkAnd hit me up on Twitter anytime @DisneyView
On this episode, I've got some personal updates - I share a couple of interactions with Guest Services online, and talk about my podcast move.   Then its on to Disney updates - the Gondola system, a temporary replacement for Illuminations, Star Wars updates, and some info on Vegetarian/Vegan Dining. Picture from the KingdomInsiderVegan Disney World did a nice writeup about the brochures I mention in the podcast - its so new not all of them are printed yet!And of course, remember to checkout my video series, Lost and Found in WDW!http://feeds.feedburner.com/LostWdwYouTube direct linkAnd hit me up on Twitter anytime @DisneyView
Overview:  I was giving some thought to one big reason Disney is successful, and that's "big data" - Disney uses a wealth of information to help you to have a magical time. I explore the concept on this podcast.Notes: On a future show, I'll have to delve into more of how this data is used.Don't forget to checkout my video series: Lost and Found at WDW! http://feeds.feedburner.com/LostWdwhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ6ZFPqt9Lv2WU3bq9DKf1g
Overview:  Today’s main theme is the announcements about  Star Wars Galaxys Edge. We have dates, and know many of the shthings that will appear in the land.  Plus, I’ve got some other news and notes to share.Notes: Galaxy's Edge will either be terrific or it will merit a yawn....hard to say which....but they've invested a lot of time and effort (not to mention money) into the parks to make it happen, and the sheer size is massive.  So it certainly has the potential.  I can't wait to see it.My pressed pennies app for iOS is now available for free.  Hope you enjoy!Pressed Penny app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wdw-pressed-penny/id712615447?mt=8Checkout my YouTube channel: lost & found in Walt Disney World. http://feeds.feedburner.com/LostWdwhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ6ZFPqt9Lv2WU3bq9DKf1g
Overview:  I’ve got a couple of personal tales to tell along the way - about a trivia contest I was in, and a friend’s question about a birthday celebration.  Then, I talk a little about Dave Smith and his recent passing, and some proposed changes to state legislation that could impact Walt Disney world. Notes: IMHO Dave Smith was a Disney legend for the way he preserved history.  Of course, you can learn more about the history of Disney’s relationship with the state in my video series: lost and found in WDW! http://feeds.feedburner.com/LostWdwhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ6ZFPqt9Lv2WU3bq9DKf1g
Overview:  Back in 1989, the Disney MGM Studios opened as a real working movie studio. They let us in on some movie making secrets and featured some cool little shows that showed how things work. Soundsation was a booth where you could hear Holophonic sound. I explore the history and play the audio for you.Notes: This was a simple pleasure. So technically simple, yet very powerful in its presentation.Checkout my YouTube channel: lost & found in Walt Disney World. http://feeds.feedburner.com/LostWdwhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ6ZFPqt9Lv2WU3bq9DKf1g
