[dpr_xs_podcast_130_kiyotaki]
The final podcast of this year was mixed by someone whose presence on Soundcloud offers little information beyond the music they publish. It may come as no surprise that we feel quite comfortable with this kind of online appearance, one that places the music rather than the person behind it at the forefront. For that reason, we’ll limit ourselves here to describing what we heard during our research: 水 demonstrates—both in numerous original productions and in mixes—that genre boundaries, even if there is a clear penchant for jungle and drumfunk, seem to play no central role. And so you’ll find a wide variety of drum-driven tracks and mixes alongside some great autonomic and ambient releases, with the connecting element appearing to be a tendency toward the atmospheric.
Thank you for the mix, @Kiyotaki.

[dpr_xs_podcast_129_rrrobyn]
Before the age of today’s constant, hectic video content production, people used to share their interests and inner worlds through a simpler, more restricted format: the *checks notes* blog. One of those blogs was www.robynthinks.wordpress.com, where @rrrobyn1 reliably supplied bass music enthusiasts with the latest releases, special mixes, niche discoveries, and more. Beyond that, rrrobyn also curated the label Through These Eyes Records. While both the blog and the label may now be formally inactive, rrrobyn certainly isn’t — which is why we’re happy to welcome him back with a second mix for our podcast. Big thanks! Enjoy the journey.

[dpr_xs_podcast_128_behind_the_curtain]
The 128th episode of our podcast series is brought to you by a deeply rooted figure in Dresden’s electronic music scene — someone who has contributed to this scene over many years, in various roles and at various locations. Most of the time, he worked behind the scenes rather than in the spotlight, and his new alias, Behind the Curtain, captures this role quite aptly.
Thank you for this immersive 147-minute ambient odyssey.

[dpr_xs_podcast_127_molekühl]
We are back with a selection by molekühl, a Zurich based and very talented woman. She has been in love with music since she was a young girl. After learning to play the piano and already building her own music compositions in her young years, she graduated her musicology study and is now a professional multi genre artist. Occasionally, you can experience her live performances, where she takes you on a trip through experimental sounds with her synths and keys. If you catch her playing at club night, she leads you on a journey through her favorite vinyl selections, spanning from techno and 90s trance to breaks and bass music. And with the first rays of dawn she creates some slow morning ambient spirit for the dancer's dream preparation. These diverse musical facets are intertwined within her, much like how a molecule is composed of countless tiny particles.
So stay tuned for this mix of molekühl. We don’t want to reveal too much, but she will give you a deep drive into the last summer days of the year. Or in her own words: She will lead you deep down the rabbit hole! Thanks a lot for being part of our series molekühl!

[dpr_xs_podcast_126_mʊdʌki]
Our 126th episode comes from @mudaki, who we first discovered last year, when she was playing a driving and diverse mix, full of breaks and a serious dubstep part, at a techno party we were attending. This diversity in sound is what we also heard when we listened through her musical output, which ranges from field recordings, ambient and electronic experiments over techno and trance to bass music in all its facets. Besides being a music producer and sound designer, she is also part of the @phononcrew, which is „focused on experimental electronic music, sound art and contemporary electroacoustic music mediated through events, releases, workshops & research“.
The mix mʊdʌki prepared for us is again a driving, breaky and bassy one hour trip, which very much reminded us of the night we first met in a musical way.

[dpr_xs_podcast_125_aikanã]
Aikanã is one of the few good things the C-19 Pandemic has created. In the first lockdown two well-known artists of the dark and jungle drum and bass scene started a collaboration to work on a new sound. So the project Aikanã was born. They have already released music on labels like @kurnugu and @zod-dnb. But until now the real identities behind Akainã are unknown.
Enjoy the anonymous 1 hour ride into the darkness together with Aikanã!

[dpr_xs_podcast_124_hórnbęrg]
September is the time of transformation. Green switches into yellow. Warm tea instead of fresh drinks. Adventure leads into Coziness. In our podcast number 124 Hórnbęrg underlines this wind of change musically. In a fascinating way he draws sound pictures of falling leaves, skin reproduction, sunny clouds, shaky grounds. A vibe of something new.
Born and raised at the Baltic Sea area, Hórnbęrg moved to Berlin where he devoted himself to music. He started a podcast series named Gramofonowa., acted closely together with STAUB, Intergalactic Research Institute For Sound or Art Bei Ton and worked at the JustMusic Store Berlin. As a DJ he is a true record digger and is equally comfortable playing bizarre, left-field sounds and ambient as he is in the field of techno. He developed his ear within the rich cultural context the city of Berlin provides.
Now after 20 years back in Rostock he doesn’t think about leaning back. He is the Co-Host of Kyr, a monthly ambient series of Callshop Radio and is always on the go to spread the big facets of electronic music.
Let’s welcome Hórnbęrg and with him the new reality of autumn.

Bass focus - this name represents exactly what our this month’s guest @lona_my stands for. From Drum and Bass to Dubstep, Bassmusic has a special place in her heart for nearly her whole life. Accordingly she started DJing three years ago and co-founded the eponymous crew @bassfocusleipzig. In times of lockdowns they have organized livestreams together that are focused on a balanced line-up to give Flinta*DJs more attention than before.
In her selection for this Podcast she focused on deep Dubstep tracks with varied harmonies. A wonderful mix - something between hood or summer hat. So big thanks to @lona_my from Leipzig!

[dpr_xs_podcast_122_yin yang audio]
Today we invite you to join this musical ride through different genres. Behind the wheel you can find Yin Yang Audio - a producer and also selfcalled conjurer of bass music. We would definitely underline this, because he adroitly takes different elements of many genres and combines them to a deep and big sound. So it comes with no surprise that he curates Descent, an event night in Houston which showcases the darker and more experimental sound of electronic music. With his releases on Onset Audio, Kornarion, Syhda Music, or Diffuse Reality, as with his whole music, he tries to produce something special, something that words are not enough to describe.

The next podcast episode is contributed by the musician k.o straight outta Poland. She is involved in the projects DrumObsession and Dungeonbeats, frequently throwing events in Poland and celebrating the music we appreciate. Her musical output ranges from almost all deep subgenres of dnb, uk beats, garage, dubstep… Well, she represents a high consciousness for the music with that certain kind of feeling. Big up k.o. & thanks for your lovely arranged musical journey.

In these worrisome & dark times we want to send you a pain reliever to stay strong. Therefore we invited @djibu600. He started his musical career in his hometown Rostock, where he bought his first Innervisions and Life and Death vinyls. With a record bag and two turntables in his luggage he moved to Dresden, founded his crew @otterworld and started Radio Sabor with his friend @ dario-de-la-rosa. They also released their first track two month ago.
His atmospheric ambient mix helps to switch off our heads and transforms them into DJ IBU 600s prepared world. A guaranteed break for our aching hearts. His name says it all. Exactly what we need today. Stay strong!
[dpr_xs_podcast_116_paracusia]

Also brace yourself for his new music project coming soon. We are ready & very excited for that. But now close your eyes and enjoy listening - maybe you’ll adumbrate a little paranormal activity.

Our last guest mix for this year comes from a local vinyl digger and truly versatile selector who chose to go by the name of our local public transport company. DJ DVB was born in Tenerife and is now settled in Dresden (Germany) where he paints the city red with his own chosen family the Miami Weißeritz Crew. From this home base he is spreading his music all over Germany from “Miami Dahlen” over “La Dolce Döbern” to the “Promenadendeck” in Berlin. With his seemingly endless musical facets he has also won the DAVE-Festival DJ-Contest in 2020 and is since then a well-known and vivid part of our local scene. Have a good trip with DJ DVB and his unbent vibes.

Glassz is the Head of music editorial & programming at Radio LUZ 91.6FM, where he is hosting a radio show named "Burn The Roots" every Thursday for 5 years already & he is also one of the promoters behind a party series called "SPLOT".
We stumbled upon Glassz when he made an appearance at Hör Berlin. He instantly catched us with his well curated selection of music. So we are super glad to have him in our podcast series. His mix shows how much this guy loves diggin, exploring and playing new electronic music in a wide range of styles and tempos.
We hope you enjoy the musical journey as much as we did.
