Delayed x Perpendicular: Camu

The night had turned cold by the time Camu began, but inside La Cabaña, everything felt suspended: warm light, still bodies, a low hum stretching through wood and pine. People settled into corners, wrapped in layers, quieted by the vibration that marked the start. The music felt transmitted, its slow-moving drones drifting through the wooden walls and into the forest beyond. The sound rolled out like fog under moonlight, patient, opaque, its motion too subtle to measure. It was music to dissolve into. Minutes became air. The cabin started to tremble. Camu’s sense of space was uncanny, each drone a line drawn in mist, each pause a small release of gravity. Later came the fragments: field recordings, faint acapellas, echoes of the forest replayed from another world. By then, the cabin no longer felt grounded. It was a stationary vessel, hovering somewhere between the trees and the stars, surrounded by invisible energy. Somewhere, just beyond the clearing, Pablo’s bass murmured like thunder in a parallel world. When silence finally returned, it wasn’t emptiness; it was the echo of what had passed through. tracklist: Submersion – One William Basinski + Richard Chartier – Aurora Liminalis Kreng + Svarte Greiner – The Night Hag Oren Ambarchi – Wednesday TVS – BlackMS Owl – Entheogen Riddim (feat. Delayed x Above Below: Timesplitters

The fire at the center of the floor was more signal than warmth against the countryside chill. Sparks shot upward into the night as dancers circled around, bodies locked into the pulse spilling from the booth. Above Below Festival thrives on these elemental juxtapositions: a rural valley transformed into a site of intensity, a cocoon-like booth channeling waves of sound that felt larger than the space itself. With every kick drum, the edges of the night blurred, and for hours the crowd existed in a suspended orbit around light, heat, and rhythm. It was here that Timesplitters, Jake and Pat, took hold. Their set drove forward on cavernous bass, but the force alone wasn’t what bound the floor; it was the shifting mid-range voices, synth lines and melodic sequences mutating like smoke from the fire, wrapping dancers in a narrative of tension and release. They approached the set less as selectors and more as authors, tracing the night with a balance of discipline and wildness. Despite their name, there was no split in time, only the sense of one continuous current, shared in firelight, smiles, and unbroken motion. https://soundcloud.com/timesplittersmusic https://soundcloud.com/abovebelowfestival Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

PREMIERE: Jin Synth - Signal [KR3 Records]

Jin Synth is a Taiwanese sound designer, producer, and DJ whose name has been a long-time fixture in the London scene. Her artistic delivery is characterised by ambience, experimentation, and a never-settling nature. This four-track project on Italian label KR3 marks five years around the sun for the label and showcases the distinct yet complementary visions of Jin and Marco Maldarella, and mastered by Peter Van Hoesen. A recipe for success? We think so. "From many strange places and by many strange roads" is the label's message to us on Bandcamp, and this EP ‘The Neural Abyss’ facilitates a new place to explore. When first attempting to describe this track, I immediately felt it was a calling - a cry for communion, a summons to meet, a pull towards something unfamiliar, somewhere to unravel and understand more, perhaps from within a snowy mountain range? I hadn't yet noticed the title, but it makes complete sense that the track is called "Signal." A signal and a calling are fundamentally similar: a message, which is precisely what this music is. The sounds funnel us through the deep, spiralling crevices and dark corners of the mountain. The echoes are hypnotic, fuelling this journey. What Jin achieves here is the expression of a route of thought of her own, providing many paths for the listener to interpret as their own and it’s available to pre-order on vinyl and digital now and will be released on Friday 24th October on Bandcamp. @jinsynth https://www.instagram.com/jinsynth Write up by @danpeplow Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

Sundays are for... [Sep/25]

Sundays are for… All of us. As each year passes, I appreciate more and more the mental haven that has developed. A space to relax, a platform to create. Focusing on moods and sounds that we listen to recover and unwind. Deeply personal, and a sonic window into the soul, the variety of guest mixes, and emotions covers the spectrum. I am so humbled to be able to release each and every entry. This September marks 6 years of Sundays. The musical journey continues, and evolves, so too does the visual. Simple, and abstract. Bridging the digital and analog realms, the art continues to change and match energy. A sine wave in all its glory, nothing less, nothing more. A comfort in its identity, a comfort in its simplicity. Enjoy the mix, this is my yearly ‘moment’ if you will, to let the hair down, and indulge. PREMIERE: ena b. - Fernweh

Readers at Delayed may be aware of our pilgrimages upstate to our home away from home. The long weekends away at a place we affectionately call the ‘Barn’ serve as a mental recharge, and rejuvenation of creative inspiration, not to mention time spent together with close friends. During one of last years’ editions, we were grateful to spend time with Lisbon based artist, Verena aka Ena B. Her passion for music, and penchant for creating ethereal vocal ambient tracks all contributed to a fit in with our crew of fellow music nerds and producers. Marking a new chapter in her musical career, Ena’s forthcoming self release teases a darker, techno edge. She forgoes the light, melodic pads of the past and dives into the depths of a grittier, harder sound. Fernweh, our premiere for today is a slow burner, building tension with every beat. The kicks and spacey textures laying the groundwork for a swelling crescendo of synths later. A moment that would be right gracing any club or dimly lit room, full to the brim with writhing bodies. Building on these themes is a 5 track offering titled, ‘Nightwalk’ that will be out soon via Mexican imprint Secuencias Temporales. Between the two releases, it’s a 1-2 punch of deep techno, and breaks that shows off her production chops. Fernweh will be out on her Bandcamp, the 3rd of October. @enabofficial www.instagram.com/enabofficial/ Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

PREMIERE: TAMA - Bluish Silver [Predawn Records]

Predawn Records is a beacon for all deep techno lovers out there, and Stuttgart is truly lucky to have them. They've built an incredible community in the South of Germany with their intimate shows, collaborations, artist spotlights, and experimentation. No strangers to us here at Delayed, Predawn is made up of Tama, Nils Edte & Laima Adelaide. Founded in 2021, the label has been a home base for the 3 artists & their musical output. An interesting tidbit you may not know about them is the way they're so deeply rooted in classical music. Marko, Nils and Laima all have a background in the genre which explains the precise yet tactile & delicate nature of the releases on the label. For TAMA's (Marko Mrdja) latest release, "Arc," he’s carrying the torch for the Predawn sound. A quick look at his page will give you insight into his other projects, including playing the piano for the Soundrise Quartet. Across all his work, Marko's passion and musical learnings shine through, reflecting a commitment to composing, producing, and playing music that simply makes him happy. We all crave different things throughout the day, and across seasons, and Marko’s projects embody that. Blueish-silver. A gentle pulse, propelled by subtle, distant soundscapes and everyday sounds captured. What they are I’m not sure, but they are certainly comforting and reassuring. The song is smooth—there are no sudden jolts or surprises, just a finely crafted track. Listen to it, then listen to it again, and again, it only gets better, as the details and new sounds reveal themselves with every listen. This track and the rest of the EP including a remix from Rambadu will be available to purchase via their Bandcamp page digitally and on vinyl on the 10th October. @markomrdja https://www.instagram.com/markomrdja_ @predawnrecords https://www.instagram.com/predawn_records/ Write up by @danpeplow Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

Delayed x Perpendicular: STBL (live)

Perpendicular Festival unravels as one continuous thread, bending and reforming across days and nights until the sense of time itself begins to dissolve. From Friday afternoon to the first pale hints of Monday light, the forest carries a constant flux of sound, shifting from floor-focused intensity to moments of near-weightless suspension. The turning point comes when the moon hovers over the DJ booth on the main stage and the current draws inward: La Cabaña, a wooden cabin hidden among the pines, becomes the gathering place for music at its most unguarded and exploratory. Here, reality softens, and performances take the shape of dreams. It was in these hours between Friday and Saturday that STBL opened the portal. His set arrived quietly, almost imperceptibly, whispers in the air, static drifting like dust in moonlight. Slowly, harmonies began to shimmer and unfold, shadowed by pads that seemed to stretch toward some unreachable horizon. Beneath it all, a subtle rumble grew, reassuring, like company long imagined finally appearing at your side. Nothing felt rushed; each sound seemed to wait for the moment it was meant to reveal itself. The power of the set lies in its restraint, in the way it suspended time and quietly rewrote it in the minds of those present. A moment like this resists fading; it lingers, carried forward as a story that will be told again and again. https://soundcloud.com/stable-mechanism https://www.instagram.com/stbl/ https://soundcloud.com/espacio-perpendicular Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

PREMIERE: Ilayruni - Telepathy Tapes [Obtuse Swamp]

Barcelona’s Obtuse Swamp has been building a catalog that values depth over immediacy, and its third release, Reef Stage EP, extends that approach. Ilayruni delivers five originals that follow different routes through polyrhythmic terrain and show a fascination with rhythm’s ability to bend perception, supported by remixes from o.utlier, Caldera, and Arsène Martinet.  There’s a peculiar space on the dancefloor reserved for tracks that are neither peak-time weapons nor background textures, the zone where hypnosis sets in. Telepathy Tapes, our premiere for today, sits right in that territory. Its low-slung tempo carries real weight, yet the percussion feels meticulously carved, with each strike holding space rather than filling it. Vocal fragments drift through like subconscious prompts, keeping the groove alert even as it sinks into hypnosis. It’s music designed to pull dancers inward, less about release, more about the slow, steady locking of body and mind.  The Reef Stage EP is set for release on September 30th. @ilayruni www.instagram.com/ilayruni/ Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

PREMIERE: vauna - Return To Form [Hyphen Records]

Berlin’s Hyphen collective has wasted no time carving out its place in the techno underground. Less than a year in and already on their fifth release, the label continues to thrive on collaboration and open-ended experimentation rather than fixed formulas. Before the Shift EP brings together Hyphen’s own vauna with two fast-rising Italian artists: TOMO, co-founder of Florence’s DE RIO, and Milan-based Peppe Amore (NR, Planet Rhythm). This is a five-track release that embraces intensity without tipping into excess, channeling a strain of contemporary techno that feels both relentless and precise, designed to hit hard while still leaving room for nuance. "Return to Form" builds on a foundation of massive kicks and tribal percussion that slowly liquefy into something more fluid, threaded with spiraling synth lines and ghostly vocal fragments. The result feels both primal and precise. It's like a transmission from a futuristic jungle made for sweat-drenched hours in the middle of the night, and another reminder that Hyphen knows how to keep its trajectory sharp. PREMIERE: OTON - Minimal [Alliance Club]

It’s 3am, the club is full to its brim, both in energy and in bodies. The air is ripe with a palpable tension, there needs to be a spark to ignite the night remaining. Enter OTON, and a return to Alliance with his sequel to ‘New Forms of Silence’. Minimal is that match stick, instantaneously converting friction to heat, and laying the groundwork for what is to come. Akin to a drum machine workout, the tracks are devoid of fluff, and focus on the essentials. Winding melodies and a tight percussion line keep things moving while ramping the energy, higher and higher. We’d be remiss, in not mentioning the rest of the album though, OTON showcases his taste as ideas coalesce through a variety of other genres, all tastefully done. Brussels-based Alliance Club was first introduced to the scene about 5 years ago, as a platform for founder OTON's own releases. It has since gone through a natural evolution, welcoming releases from other artists, and ultimately morphing into a collective and party series within the vibrant Brussels community. With residencies at a variety of Belgium’s clubs and festivals as well as on local radio station microwave, Alliance has nicely established its place in the scene over the past few years. This year, OTON presents his music in the form of an audiovisual live set in collaboration with a visual artist Onohno, something to experience if the opportunity presents itself. New Forms of Silence 2, will be released on the 26th of September. @oton Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

Delayed with... Beau Beaumont

The first thing you notice in Beau Beaumont’s Delayed with mix isn’t aggression or volume, but control. Each layer slots into place with a clarity that leaves no room for drift. It’s techno in high resolution - grooves stretched to their limit, shifts measured with care, a ride that never collapses under its own weight. That clarity comes from experience. Years spent running one of the UK’s most forward-thinking parties, building an independent label Meine Nacht, and diving into modular synthesis have sharpened Beau’s ear for pacing and design. Her work ranges from NTS residencies to commissions for Nike and the WDR Studio for Electronic Music. Still, it’s this same multidisciplinary edge that you hear here, surgical mixing, grooves that never stagnate, and a sense of movement that feels both human and machine. This is propulsion without fatigue: a set built to carry you, wherever you are. https://soundcloud.com/beausoundart https://www.instagram.com/beausoundart Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

PREMIERE: Kyntral - Ancient Apparition (Patrick Russell Phantom Remix) [Danza Nativa]

Over the last few years, we’ve had the utmost pleasure in highlighting an incredible music scene rooted across the ocean in Barcelona. Like the living, breathing entity that it is, the tendrils reach far and wide, connecting artists, and music lovers from around the world. Deep, rhythmic, pulsing low ends, frenetic half-time snares. Spiraling melodies and hypnotic elements all combine into an incredible mixture that gives life to all. At the heart of this thriving community and our focus for today is one of its musical stewards, Patrick Russell. A pure professional, always providing discerning sets from behind the decks, today we listen to him in a different fashion as he provides a rare remix that embodies these sounds and times. Forth-coming on Argentinian label Danza Nativa, Ancient Apparition is a four tracker by co-founder Kyntral that oozes rich bass lines and snappy percussion. Each song unfolds ever so smoothly, stretching its muscles and taking up space. PREMIERE: Guentner Spieth - Vortex [AFFIN]

Spanning multiple decades, the friendship between Markus Guentner and Joachim Spieth started with contributions to Kompakt’s Pop Ambient series in 2001. At the time, neither could anticipate how the future or their respective artistic paths would unfold. Over the years, both have been a guiding presence throughout their careers as they delve farther and farther into ambient and beyond. Striving for only the utmost quality in productions and expression of self. Coalescing in 2023, the pair combined their musical talents for their first album together titled, ‘Overlay’ released on Spieth’s label, Affin. Deep, rhythmic, and bathed in texture, it marked the next musical evolution and a harbinger of what is to come. Enter ‘Conversion’. The seven tracker builds upon themes established in ‘Overlay’, a melding of layered textures and encompassing percussion, giving a sense of weight, heavy with emotion. Our premiere for today, Vortex smoothly enters the mind, with comforting pads, and a subtle uplifting notion. The warmth from the drone-like melodies is echoed into the steady muted kicks that provide an energetic boost to the track. Delayed x Mostra: Robert Henke presents Dust

With the summer festival season drifting into memory, it feels like the right moment to linger on one of the most thoughtfully shaped events in recent years. The Mostra Festival unfolded over the Easter weekend across two Barcelona locations, and what set it apart wasn’t just the programming, but the curation - a balance of trust, patience, and precision. The first two days leaned toward the ambient and the experimental, tipping into rhythm as the nights wore on. Yet the real magic of that opening stretch lay in the beatless hours. Friday in particular offered a moment that still reverberates among Mostra regulars and beyond: Robert Henke’s performance of Dust. If there is any place in the world designed for such a work, Mostra provided the perfect frame. For one afternoon, Henke held the crowd in complete attention and reverence, something essential for any artist, but especially for one whose work is as delicate, shifting, and expansive as Dust. For many of us, Robert Henke, Monolake to longtime listeners, has been a constant presence in the background of our musical lives. His records shaped taste, his performances redefined how electronic music could be experienced live, and his role as co-creator of Ableton changed the very tools we use to make and share sound. Few artists can claim such a dual legacy: architect of both the music and the machinery. Whether in moments of joy or frustration, whether in the studio or on the dancefloor, it’s impossible to imagine modern electronic music without his fingerprints on it. Henke embodies the link between technological innovation and artistic expression, and his influence runs deeper than most of us can trace. Dust is perhaps the clearest expression of that link. Powered by a custom granular synthesis engine, it reduces sound to particles, field recordings, analog tones, machine hiss, bells, and waves, then disperses them into clouds that evolve in real time. The result is less like a composition and more like a living organism: fragile, unpredictable, always becoming something new. At Mostra, this unfolding took shape in late afternoon, after Patrick Russell’s set had sharpened the air with its own restraint. Henke stepped in with a 360-degree surround system that transformed the floor of Fabra i Coats into a resonant body. The sound was cosmic and liquid, grainy and immense, stretching outward until it seemed to erase the horizon. Every surface in the space shimmered with detail, as if the air itself had been tuned. What made it remarkable was how fragile it all felt. Nothing was forced; every movement seemed to arise on its own, like dust caught in late-afternoon sunlight. Yet the immersion was total. People surrendered, leaning into the space as if trying to hold onto something that could never be held. For that hour, Mostra wasn’t a festival anymore. It was a room of people floating together in a world made entirely of sound, knowing it would never happen in quite the same way again. https://soundcloud.com/monolake https://www.instagram.com/studio.robert.henke/ www.mostra.barcelona www.instagram.com/mostrabcn/ @mostrabcn Write up by @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

PREMIERE: Vidění - Refracted Light [Ambient Matter]

Rain falls here in Brooklyn as time marches on and the changing of seasons creeps ever so closer. The long days of summer wane, fall will soon be upon us. With the shift in seasons, comes a move inside, and for many, a period of recovery from a hectic summer season. Rosario Piscosquito aka Vidění’s forthcoming album ‘Ocean Resonance’ on Ambient Matter marks their second release on the Indefinite Pitch sub-label and the first of this year.  From cover to cover, Piscosquito expertly guides listeners through a variety of musical realms, maintaining a certain gravitas and crafting a coherent story from beatless to beat, and back again, with each track building on what came before. Refracted Light, our premiere for today sits early in the album but gives a teaser to what lies ahead. Intricate drum patterns and tribalistic bongos scattered throughout lay the foundation for ethereal pads and subtle melodies that continue to unfold for the duration of the track. PREMIERE: Luigi Tozzi - Insecta (Rrose Rework) [Technokunst Records]

The launch of a label always says something about its ambitions. Some choose the visibility of a compilation, gathering tracks and names to cast a wide net. Others decide to start with a statement, trusting the strength of a single project to carry their voice. After more than a decade and a half of shaping Hungary’s underground through the Technokunst nights, the collective has made it clear which route they prefer. Their new imprint arrives with Split Series 01, a release that pairs two artists whose work already resonates deeply across the international techno circuit: Rrose and Luigi Tozzi. The format is simple but loaded, an original track from each, and remixes exchanged between them, creating a conversation that moves across styles and tempos but holds a singular focus on depth. For a first record, it reads less as an introduction and more as a confident extension of what Technokunst have always done: presenting electronic music with clarity, conviction, and longevity in mind. Today we are thrilled to premiere Rrose's rework of Tozzi's "Insecta". Compared to Luigi's original, Rrose's rework creates a relatively vacant, suspenseful space for the first 30 seconds before striking with full venom. Harrowing layers and ominous atmospheres linger in the background. The escalation is immense. The drama cools, and things settle. The drum returns, but it’s more muted, it’s softer. The drive remains. Available on the Technokunst website on vinyl on September 19th and released digitally in October. @rrose1921 https://www.instagram.com/rrose1921 @luigitozzi https://www.instagram.com/luigi.tozzi.music @technokunst https://www.instagram.com/technokunst Write up by @gilleswasserman & @danpeplow Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

Delayed x Perpendicular: Fhionbarra

There’s always that one set at Perpendicular that people talk about after. In 2024, it was Fhionbarra’s closer, a set that caught everyone's attention and ultimately became the reference point for the entire edition. Coming into this year, expectations were quietly building. The line-up mixed familiar crews with newer names from across Europe and beyond, with London showing up particularly strong. That blend is what makes Perpendicular tick: the local warmth, the international cross-pollination, and the sense that discovery is just as important as reunion. This time, the slot was different. Instead of a final word, Fhionbarra was handed Saturday late afternoon, when the forest is still glowing with light and people are searching for a balance between motion and pause. He leaned into it with a set built on breaks and halftime, cut clean and calibrated for the hour. No force, no shortcuts, just patience, groove, and trust in the moment. The effect was undeniable. The crowd didn’t need intensity, they needed direction, and he gave it to them. The floor moved easily, the heat started to fade, and suddenly the afternoon was marked by that rare kind of clarity when the right DJ meets the right context. Fhionbarra proved last year wasn’t a one-off, he can shape a moment on his own terms, no matter the slot. https://soundcloud.com/fhionnbarra https://www.instagram.com/fhionbarra_ @espacio-perpendicular Write up by: @gilleswasserman Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc

PREMIERE: Elisa Batti & Jorge Fons - Helium (Live Extract) [Wabi Sabi Audio]

Twisting and turning, like a live animal dancing through the air, Helium (Live Extract) gives a sense of movement and looseness that only a live performance can give. The flexing of voices and the undulating elements drifting and snapping back into form keep the ears attention locked in. Initially the track starts off fairly simple with a few textures and drum patterns, drawing listeners in, before adding in a spiraling melody and marching kick drums that ratchet the energy up. As the track progresses, various melodic synths are sprinkled throughout that add a sense of unpredictability. Forthcoming on the Dutch imprint, Wabi Sabi Audio, Elisa Batti & Jorge Fons have come together for the next release, titled Yugen (幽玄). Focusing on creating a variety of rhythms, the two artists have finished off a 5 track release, that ranges from Ambient, to disjointed club time stompers. Delayed with... Hagva

Hagva began in 2022 as a shared experiment between CP1 and Not Mass, artists closely tied to Milan’s Evolvere collective and Stagno Records. What started as a dialogue has grown into a practice of dismantling rhythm and building it back stronger, threading techno through post-club ruptures, industrial grit, and deep ambient undertones. From Evolvere’s underground nights in Milan to RSO Berlin, Module CPH, Buka Milano, Tempovìa, and Zurich’s D.A.S., their sets have carried the same uncompromising edge: a refusal to settle into comfort, constantly pulling dancers into new terrain. The mix we present today is a three-hour live recording from their set at D.A.S. in Zürich earlier this year, capturing Hagva in full flight. There’s no easing in, it’s a straight leap onto a fast-moving train, powered by relentless percussion and groove, with sudden swerves that snap the floor awake. Heavy, urgent, and unpredictable yet always precise, it’s a reminder that energy doesn’t need excess to be overwhelming. For those hearing them for the first time, it’s the perfect entry point; for those who already know, it’s another layer of proof. Sundays are for... [Aug/25]
