Absolutely agree on the sensible teen thing - it doesn't seem impossible, or even improbable to me, that she jumps in to the dance. And I think it's a great analogy for the rules adults the children without explanation/context, which we do test as teens, and often discover the only reason they didn't explain it was because it was something difficult to convey and that would change our perspective of/appreciation for something (losing our innocence/childhood style-o'fing) and they wanted to delay that a while longer. I was surprised by the schemies thing too - seems similar to slurs like Chav and NEDs? Not really in keeping with Pterry's usual compassion. Perhaps he was unaware of the cultural snobbery and class prejudice of the terms root?

I'd never conciously made the Yes, Minster connection/comparison, but as soon as he said it it was blinding obvious! 🤦‍♀️D'oh!
