Today, I want to speak to you from the topic, worshiping God for who he is, rather than what he can do..Now let us look at some of the attributes of God. We're gonna start looking at what God can do. And then we'll move over to looking at who He is. Let us get right into it. Firstly, what God can do for us, is basically the things that will benefit us.What we stand to gain from his attributes as God.If you read the book of Genesis, chapter 22, verse 14, Firstly is Jehovah Jireh. That is the Lord our provider. We remember this story. This is the story of Abraham when he had to sacrifice Isaac. And then at the mountain just before you sacrifice Isaac, God provided a substitute, which was a sacrificial lamb.In turn for Isaac and he says, Abraham says that the the Lord shall be provide for so he is Jehovah Jireh the Lord who meets our needs the Lord who provides if you read Exodus, chapter 15, verse 22, to 26 is Jehovah Rapha, which is our healer. He heals our diseases or sicknesses in Exodus 17, verse 15.Is JJehovah Nissi. See, that is our banner. In the battlefield, he walks before us. He fights for us, he conquers for us.If you read in Judges six, verse 24, is Jehovah Shamma, more peace. When you're in your house, wherever you are, you call on the name of the Lord, who is your peace and brings about peace. Now, there are many more other attributes of what God can do for us. This is just a few that I've mentioned.Oftentimes, we tend to focus on these ministries and churches or even based on the founder in this that is the attributes of God. You can suddenly mistake what God can do his attributes of what he can do for you versus who he is in your life. But tonight, I want to shift your focus onto something very profound and very interesting. The attributes of God based on who he is.That is what I want us to look at.If you read chapter five,he's Jehovah Elohim, which is the Lord our God , Exodus 26, verse 19.He's Elohim, which is called the Most High.In Isaiah 43, verse three, He is the Holy One.In Isaiah nine verse six again, he is the Mighty God and keep your that is who God is.
We need to draw closer to God. And we need to know who He is in our lives. And we need to find out who we are in him as well. That we may be able to live a life of purpose. That we may be able to please him in everything that we do and be able to bear fruit in all the work that he is establishing us in each and every day. So as I have mentioned these points. I would like us to align our emotions, to align our minds to the will of God. I’m just going to give a brief. Just perspective explanation of how I’m going to explain these emotions, how these emotions are connected to the mind and ultimately how they are connected to the will of God and the Spirit of God that leads us. Remember, the main point is that we know who God is in our lives, that our souls may be saved, and that we may obtain salvation from God, our Father. In our everyday life today. You go out, you speak to friends, you speak to people.
How to possess your identity in this time of trouble
Today I want to speak to you about the topic. Temptation versus testing. It is a very important topic. I realized these last days that a lot of believers cannot differentiate the difference between when a believer is tempted and when one is being tested. So let us get into it. Let's first look at temptation. As we have said before, we shall look at it from the perspective of what the Bible basically says. Not from our own intellect, our own thinking. But we shall be Scripture based. And it shall be what the Bible says, Not our own version. Let's first look at James Chapter one, verse 13 to 14. This is temptation, it says, Let no man say I am tempted of God for God cannot be tempted with evil.Nor. Does he tempt any man? So let no man say he's tempted by God. So we worship a God who cannot be tempted by evil, a God who will not tempt us as well. First Corinthians Chapter 10, Verse 13 says No temptation has overtaken you except for what is common to mankind, he says. God is faithful. He will not let you be tempted. When you attempt, he will provide you a way out..So we have established temptation is not of God. Temptation is from our desires.
You know, and nowadays, there are many motivational speakers that are giving out tips on how to be successful people. And yes, we are interested to learn from them what they do every day. That makes them successful. And that is the topic that we have today. The secret to success. Now, I don't want to limit us most of the time as the standard of the world, when we talk about success. Most of the time, people think about money. They think big cars, big houses, they think being famous and all but I don't want us to be limited to that. I want us to get into the secret of success in what God has called you to do. We have been called into different roles in life, we have been called to being mothers. We have been called to being preachers of the word. We have been called into being worshipers, we have been called into being soldiers, the peacemakers, and there's a lot that God has called us to do. Now I want us to get into the secret of the success in what God has called you to do.. I have selected a few scriptures, as famous scriptures, we all know.. Let us read Prov 3_5 -6 Let's hear what it says. It says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways, acknowledge him, and he shall direct your path. And the other scripture is Joshua 1_ 8, it says, This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night. and that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. Now we all know that the word of God is how God communicates with us. It is how God is directing our path. And the second part is it says For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Now, I want us to look at the book of Samuel. For in 2 Samuel. We've been dealing with it in our Bible study for the past weeks, and we are still continuing this week. But there are a few things that I've pinpointed from it that was a way to God to go to success, a secret to success in what God has called you to do. Now, the book is dealing mainly with three characters. We have Samuel, we have Saul and we have David. But today I want us to focus on David. I want us to focus on what David did for his success. What was David's Secrets of Success from a measure pad to becoming a king? What is it that he did? Yes, we know that. It all happened because of God because God had arranged it. But so Saul was also chosen by God to be king. He arranged him to be king, though we know that Saul was not raised to be a king. He was not educated, but he still became a king. But what is it that David did because so at the end, we see him falling
The Word for today it is based or it is from the scripture. This is where the Lord was speaking to Moses, where he was saying, what you have in your hand? What is that you have in your hand? So today I want to say to you in your hand what I love about the early followers of Jesus. They were just ordinary men doing ordinary things, but they were witnessing extraordinary results. And one of the story that stands out is the story of the young boy who gave his lunch to Jesus. He had only two fish and five loaves. The rest of the story is history, which we are still talking about even today. But what I wanted to know from that story that about five lessons.
