Bet you thought you were rid of us. Much like we thought we were rid of the heat, back it came to bite us. We overcame technical changes, we overcame being down a host, and we brought you an episode all the same.
Hear our thoughts on recent developments in the world of gaming, our own gaming tales from recent weeks, and our thoughts and judgments on the PS Plus titles for September 2024.
Here we emerge, battered and bruised from another season of fighting over games we bought on the cheap. There have been bad weeks. There have been good weeks. There may even have been great weeks, but you'll have to go hunt them down and tell us where they're hiding.
Without a tie break this season, things are much smoother. Come with us as we discuss our Bottom 3's and Top 5's of the season we've just... experienced? Endured? Survived? Before we decide a top winner for each of our fabled categories.
Another series of our monthly fights has come to a close, and the generator has picked an appropriate topic for us to end on - Only right we choose games where we go through all this work, and then start over again like nothing happened!
Come see which of Enter the Gungeon, Returnal and Risk of Rain 2 gets the furthest before starting from the beginning, and also see who takes home the coveted loser crown - Someone wins too, but who cares about that?
Xbox is on fire, media is on fire, everything is on fire - Including us, but in the good way! We soldier on the only way we can, by avoiding our responsibilities to play a bunch of games and pass the benefits onto you!
Hear our thoughts on recent developments in the world of gaming, our own gaming tales from recent weeks, and our thoughts and judgements on the PS Plus titles for July 2024.
We personally at Disc Count HQ have been very excited for this one. We obviously love all of our topics equally, like our personal topic children all living their happy lives inside the random genre generator waiting for their day to be chosen. But we can't deny our excitement that a topic as dumb as Fish finally made it out of there. What a great day.
Come along to see which of Maneater, Spiritfarer and Subnautica was the fishiest fish game to ever fish.
Even though E3 is gone (but forever in our hearts), the gaming world still loves to drop a whole bunch of news this time of year. We thought we'd once again awkwardly have it all drop after the May episode was recorded, but a) the last episode was lost to the tech gremlins, and b) the showcases just kept coming so at least one is technically relevant, so we have that going for us.

We had to go outside for this episode. If that isn't enough to garner your pity and warrant a listen, it's hard to say what is. Rather than our usual topics where we look for something in game, for this episode we had to brave the world, go into second-hand game retailers, and train our eyes to the floor in search of questionable titles. It was a time. You're welcome.
Join us as Far Cry Primal, Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair, and Horizon Zero Dawn fight it out to be the most bottom shelf game in CeX, and in our hearts.
This has been a tough test over in Disc Count for this week as no one likes to sell physical rhythm games... even those that were once popular have been booed offstage making it a very difficult task for the hosts to find good games. So take your seats as three white people all try to justify what rhythm is while they all click, tap and bob out of time with one another; one of them is on the beat though as they pretend they are just the best dancer in the Maharaja.
Join us as Sayonara Wild Hearts, No Straight Roads and Crypt of the Necrodancer fight it out to be the most on beat as they try to beat each other.
A lot is said of April showers, and while we have seen our fair share, we bring a different kind of April shower. We are showering you with gaming news and content. Good for you.
Hear our thoughts on recent developments in the world of gaming, our own gaming tales from recent weeks, and our thoughts and judgements on the PS Plus titles for April 2024.
With spring officially in bloom and the sun beginning to poke out from behind its cloud-print curtains, what have we here at Disc Count picked as our suitably springy topic? Snow you say? How perfectly on brand.
Join us as Snow Bros., Until Dawn and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves fight it out to be the snowiest game to ever snow.
With the turn of Spring upon us, Disc Count have encountered miracles. Not only is there a bountiful selection of news, we played new games! We played a whole THREE NEW GAMES! We even played demos! All the content you could ever ask for.
Hear our thoughts on recent developments in the world of gaming, our own gaming tales from recent weeks, and our thoughts and judgements on the PS Plus titles for March 2024.
We are discussing literature's favourite blood suckers in this episode. On that note, is a mosquito a vampire? If you go solely by the definition of sucking blood, they are perhaps the purest vampire and we should show them some respect. Imagine if Twilight involved her falling in love with a sparkly mosquito. The scenes it would've caused. Magical.
Join us as Resident Evil Village, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Code Vein try to be the most vampiric. Do they have vampires? Do they have mosquitos? Tune in to find out.
In classic Disc Count fashion, we wish we had a good spread of news to share with you. What we have instead is a lot of news that happened either one day after we recorded or one day before. Real top and tail scenario. You're so welcome.
Hear our thoughts on recent developments in the world of gaming, our own gaming tales from recent weeks, and our thoughts and judgements on the PS Plus titles for February 2024.
We luckily have yet to encounter critical response to our podcast. We still occupy the niche space where critics have yet to find us, but if they did, they'd obviously provide glowing reviews and generally shower us with praise and love. But back in the real world, these games were not so lucky.
Join us as Cyberpunk 2077, Gotham Knights and No Man's Sky fight to be the most critically panned, which feels backwards but for this episode is pretty on point.
New year, new us. By new, we of course mean completely the same but with very minor differences we will drop by March. See if you can spot them. Bet you won't!
Hear our thoughts on recent developments in the world of gaming, our own gaming tales from recent weeks, and our thoughts and judgements on the PS Plus titles for January 2024.
After the embarrassment of last episode (heh), we've decided to become better people. And what better way to be better than to acquire otherworldly gifts and use them to become better than ourselves. We will be super podcasters, and our powers shall be... podcasts?
Join us as Spiderman, Life is Strange: True Colours and South Park: The Fractured But Whole fight using their acquired superpowers to fight a generic bad guy and then an evil version of their own powers, probably.
Happy Holidays, and Merry (insert relevant denominational festival here) to one and all! We're back again after the overwhelming (read: same as usual but we liked it) audience response to our last year in review episode by bringing you each of our top fives of the year, along with other fun stuff such as favourite game we played this year that didn't come out this year - Or something snappier that conveys the same idea.
Embarrassment is totally normal. In fact, we here at Disc Count say you shouldn't be embarrassed for playing the games you love. Be proud of them. Embrace them. Unless it's any of the games on show in this episode, in which case, we condemn you to the gutter of embarrassment you strange, magnificent creature.
Join us as Catherine: Full Body, Lord of the Rings: Gollum, and Megadimension Neptunia VII have a good ol' scrap to be the sensory horror show you least want to glance at.
It is nearly the end of the year, and while much of the world begins to slow down into a nice Christmas haze, we here at Disc Count refuse. Much like the Pokémon franchise, we refuse to slow down even if it would be much to our benefit.
Hear our thoughts on recent developments in the world of gaming, our own gaming tales from recent weeks, and our thoughts and judgements on the PS Plus titles for November 2023.
Fighting is hard, we all know that. And what would help to make fighting easier? Fancier limbs, you say? Okay, sounds good. We here at Disc Count are all in favour of fancy limbs, so much so, we based an entire episode around it.
Join us as Devil May Cry 5, Bioshock and Middle Earth: Shadow of War use their fancy, augmented limbs to beat each other black and blue.
