This is the final episode of this podcast. In this episode I express my appreciation for the project as well as what I've learned from it. Shout-out Professor Gilbert. Thank you so much.
This episode is slightly different than the others. There is one main point, and I explore 3 different sources to back me up. The articles were "Doing Nothing Can Make You More Productive", "Why You Should Ditch Your Phone Before Bed", and "How Electronics Affect Sleep". I talked about our phones distracting us before bed, the effects of blue light, melatonin decreases, how your screens stimulate you before bed, the importance of nightly routines, and more. Follow along with me by accessing the articles with these links(they are in the order listed above): https://time.com/6254135/doing-nothing-more-productive/ https://health.clevelandclinic.org/put-the-phone-away-3-reasons-why-looking-at-it-before-bed-is-a-bad-habithttps://www.sleepfoundation.org/how-sleep-works/how-electronics-affect-sleep
This episode is part two of reviewing the article titled "Negative Health Review of Cell Phones and Social Media" by Danielle M. Viola. The points that I hit on this episode were 1) Mental and Physical Health 2) Ways to balance screen time. If you would like to follow along with the episode (which I highly recommend) you can access the article using this link:https://www.mentalhealthjournal.org/articles/negative-health-review-of-cell-phones-and-social-media.html
In this episode I spring into the studies and observations in the article "Negative Health Review of Cell Phones and Social Media" by Danielle M. Viola. The two main points that I reviewed were 1) Need for human connection 2) Mental Health. This episode only reviews half of this article, for it is packed with interesting information. The episode on the second part of this article will be posted later today. If you would like to follow along with this episode, you can access the article using this link:https://www.mentalhealthjournal.org/articles/negative-health-review-of-cell-phones-and-social-media.html
In this episode, I dive into the article "Effects of Excessive Screen Time on Child Development: An Updated Review and Strategies for Management" by the NIH. The main points focused on were 1) Decrease in academic performance 2) Negative effects on language development 3) Social-Emotional Development 4) Strategies for managing screen time for you and your kids (the first 3 are all as a result of abusing screen time and the context in which screens are used). If you would like to follow along with the episode the article link is https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10353947/#REF7
This episode talks a bit about who I am as well as the structure and focus of the podcast.
