Welcome back to Dive Right in with Jackie and Hannah! This week, we wanted to provide an approachable look into what is going on this week in the United States. Throughout the episode, we discuss the controversy surrounding the AP African American Studies course, the recent shooting In Monterey Park, CA, a brief overview of Lunar New Year, the Taylor Swift Ticketmaster hearing, the new Oreo flavor, and the decision to temporarily remove the M&M spokescandies. This episode has a great balance of serious and fun topics, but they all share the theme of criticizing what is going on in the United States. As always, please reach out if you are interested in being a guest or if you have any episode topic suggestions. Welcome back to Dive Right in with Jackie and Hannah! After a brief fall hiatus, we’re back with a current events update. This week, we zoomed in on antisemitism through the lens of Jewish joy. We talked about Kanye West, the effects of his words and actions, and what we can do to fill this world with love. The goal of this week's episode is not to give Kanye or any other extremists more attention, but rather share why we’re each proud of our religion, community, culture, and traditions. We’re excited to share this empowering episode with you all and look forward to hearing why you are proud of your heritage.  Love,  Jackie and Hannah  ---------- Check out our Website: https://diverightinpodcast.weebly.com Follow our Link Tree: https://linktr.ee/diverightin Twitter: @DiveRightIn2 TikTok: @DiveRightIn Email: diverightinpodcast@gmail.com Follow our Instagrams: Podcast: @diverightinpodcast Hannah: @hannah.plotkin Jackie: @jackiespinnell

“Why are we willing to live with this carnage? Why do we keep letting this happen? Where in God’s name is our backbone to have the courage to deal with it and stand up to the lobbies? It’s time to turn this pain into action. For every parent, for every citizen in this country, we have to make it clear to every elected official in this country: It’s time to act.” -President Biden This week we decided to devote the entire episode to talking about the recent school shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas this past Tuesday. Our hearts break for all of the families in this community, and we send them all of our thoughts and prayers. We spend some time discussing what this means for our country and what we can do to help. We hope you all learn something, and we will see you all soon! Love,  Jackie and Hannah

“Won’t it be wonderful when black history and Native American history and Jewish history and all of U.S. history is taught from one book. Just U.S. history.” – Maya Angelou Welcome back to Dive Right In with Jackie and Hannah! This week, we talk about what it means to be good allies to the Black Community especially during Black History Month. “The takeaway from this episode is recognizing that you have a voice. Youth are the future of our nation, and no matter how you decide to use your voice, your thoughts and opinions matter." -Jackie and Hannah  Welcome back to Dive Right In with Jackie and Hannah! This week, we invite on two guests, one who identifies herself as not being politically aware and another guest who does consider himself to be politically aware, to try and figure out why some teens feel the desire to be involved in politics and others do not. To start us off, we welcome Phoebe, Jackie's sister who is still grappling with where she stands politically, to talk about how she uses her voice in political settings. Phoebe identifies some reasons she chooses to stay out of politics, while also recognizing the need to stand up for what she believes in. We also welcome Aaryan Ram to the podcast to talk about why he thinks political engagement is so important. Aaryan talks about ways he's able to stay politically and socially aware, while also recognizing that it's important for teens to start small with issues they care about. We end the episode by reminding all listeners that they have the power to create change by using their voice!  Love, Jackie and Hannah ---------------------------- Jackie and Hannah: Check out our Website: https://diverightinpodcast.weebly.com Follow our Link Tree: https://linktr.ee/diverightin Twitter: @DiveRightIn2 TikTok: @DiveRightIn Email: diverightinpodcast@gmail.com Follow our Instagrams: Podcast: @diverightinpodcast Hannah: @hannah.plotkin Jackie: @jackiespinnell
