Welcome to Season 8 of Who & Company!  As we kick off a new year, we thank our listeners for sticking with us the past 7 years, and as per our January tradition, this month we have a couple of our cohorts from THE Doctor Who Podcast - James & Michele! They join us this month to discuss the recently released animated story, The Underwater Menace (now available worldwide).  Does this story hold up?  Is the animation actually better than the story?  Can anything in the world shtop Zaroff?  These topics and many more are tackled in this episode of Who & Company!   Thanks for listening!   whoandcompany@yahoo.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/doctorwhoandcompany/support
Our very special guest this month has been working in the film industry for over 30 years.  He's written for countless comic franchises including Logan's Run (and his own - Discord), worked as a special effects makeup artist for some of the biggest names in Hollywood, created incredible puppetry for many big-named films, and even won a Saturn award for his own film that he wrote & directed, Encounter (2019).  And if all that isn't enough, he even owns a Dalek, a Zygon, and THE original TARDIS console from the 1996 TV Movie!  He's Paul J. Salamoff and he joins us to talk about all of these things and of course his love of Doctor Who. Then Paul brings us his Pick of the Month - the iconic CBS anthology series, The Twilight Zone!  We discuss at least five personal favorite episodes of Paul's and talk about why the series remains timeless to this day.  Join us as we look (spoiler-free!) at this very influential series which you can watch currently in North America on Paramount Plus. And here's a link to Paul's movie, Encounter (currently on Prime Video) and a huge list of comics and books that Paul has written over the years! Encounter (2019) Paul J. Salamoff on Amazon As always, we hope you enjoy the show! whoandcompany@yahoo.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/doctorwhoandcompany/support
It's that time again!  Usually once a year we like to talk movies and to keep it Doctor Who related we pair those movies with Doctor Who episodes.  It's a fan favorite and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do making it.  Thanks for listening!  See you again later in April! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/doctorwhoandcompany/support
This month, podcaster Jason Miller joins us to discuss his weekly podcast, Doctor Who Literature!  It's full of insightful information and fantastic guests.  He's here to talk about what led him into podcasting, his recent fun-filled weekend at Gallifrey One 2024, and the exact moment he fell in love with Doctor Who. Then we drive a stake through someone's heart this Valentine's Day month with Jason's Pick of the Month - the 1966-1971 ABC smash daytime hit, Dark Shadows!  Some of us are new to this show and some have been watching for years, but we all agree that this was an exciting, bingeable series.  Does it still hold up today?  And what about the two movies it spawned in its heyday?  And the 1991 Revival series on NBC?  And the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp movie from 2012?  Hmm...the less said about that the better.  Or maybe you disagree!  In any case, join us for this very fun episode! Drop us a line about what you think of Dark Shadows on our Twitter (or X) account, @whoandcompany (https://twitter.com/whoandcompany) or email us at whoandcompany@yahoo.com! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/doctorwhoandcompany/support

Every year we do something a little different.  Usually it's April, but this time it's June and we've decided to do another of our popular pairings of favorite movies & Doctor Who episodes!  Of course, we aren't going to spoil them in this blurb, but be warned - there are SPOILERS EVERYWHERE for the movies and the Doctor Who stories that are paired.  If we mention a movie you're interested in, by all means go and see it and come back and listen to our thoughts.  And while you're at it, drop us a line and let us know YOUR thoughts!  You can find us on our Facebook page, on Twitter @whoandcompany, or a good old-fashioned email at whoandcompany@yahoo.com.  See you next month! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/doctorwhoandcompany/support
Podcasting legend and L.I. Who showrunner Ken Deep joins us this month to discuss how his lifelong love of a show has grown from fan clubs to podcasts to convention hosting.  Ken talks about discovering Doctor Who, riding his bike across town to the "skyscraper of Doctor Who Towers", the joys of running a Doctor Who convention, and how a randomly recorded episode at the end of a dubbed Doctor Who tape led him straight into another fandom. That fandom would be Ken's Pick of the Month - the BBC renegade sci-fi classic, Blake's 7!  Hear us discuss why this is one of Ken's favorite all-time shows, how very closely related it is to Doctor Who, how influential the show was to other sci-fi phenomena that came afterwards, and how it still holds up over 40 years later.  Was this the Torchwood of its time?  And to exactly which Star Trek episode does Ken compare the entire series? Find out more about L.I Who 2023 at longislanddoctorwho.com for guests, hotel information, and tickets.  That's August 18-20, 2023 at Holiday Inn Long Island.  Who & Company will also be there!  Come say hello! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/doctorwhoandcompany/support
