This audio first appeared on my weekly newsletter here: https://documentally.substack.com/p/a-wandering-existence-2160While walking the dog I spotted a man coming along the road pulling a four-wheeled cart loaded with what looked like everything he owned.Obviously, I had to stop and find out what was going on.His name is Adam Richards and he was just about to cross the border from Scotland back into England, part way through a 2,433-mile walk that started in Manchester. So far his journey has taken him through the Lake District, along the Scottish coast, through Ayr, Paisley, Stirling and Edinburgh.Adam says he’s doing it for his kids. He wants to show them that money needn't be your main focus in life. Sometimes it’s enough to decide to do something, to follow your dreams, believe in yourself and just go.He describes himself as technically houseless rather than homeless. While living on about £400 a month and documenting the journey online, everything he needs is in the cart he pulls behind him. After our paths crossed, I ran home, grabbed a mic shield and caught up with him before he crossed the border. This podcast is our conversation. Adam can be found online in various places as @Rant_N_Roam Thanks for listening.

Topics include file sharing, copyright, internet freedom, digital entrepreneurship and the future of media. Looking back from today, I feel it offers an interesting snapshot of how the UK wrestled with the challenges of a rapidly changing internet. A year later Spotify would find it's feet in the US and everything changed.
