A monster is haunting Ben Ramos — one that visits in his weakest moments, one that knows his every secret. Hallowed North #1 is the first entry in a limited comic series about mental illness and its devastating, destructive capabilities.
I got to speak with the creative minds behind this book - Jeremiah Espinoza & J. Schiek. We talked about the inception and inspiration behind the book, the impact of mental illness, and more.
We also talked about Fountain Pen's, TMNT, Dune & more!!

Ian likes to write about SCARY things. Not necessarily things that go bump in the night or jump at you from the shadows though. Ian writes about the horrors of reality. Crime, Inequality, misinformation, and the things we do to ourselves as a society.
I brought Ian on to talk about THE BLIND BOX which is a monthly newsletter he does with other artists.
It contains a piece of short fiction that is inspired by (and paired with) art from extremely talented artists in the indie comics scene. Its a unique concept that you won't find anywhere else.

Riley Little is a staple in the Canadian Gaming Industry.
He interviewed the one and only, Shigeru Miyamoto, who created a loyal following within the online gaming community and bringing the WalmartGaming social media platform to new heights.
I wish I could sum up my chat with Riley in a few words but we just had a convo that went from Smash Bros to Street Fighter The Movie.
Make sure to check out Riley on Twitter at his respected pages and show him some love!

The show is going on an indefinite hiatus. Not sure if or when it will come back but thank you for your countless support this past year.
More details in the episode
Ernie is a content creator and a comic book encyclopedia. He is a ball pit of fun, a fountain of nerd knowledge, and a genuinely great dude to chat with.
Make sure you check out his YouTube channel
It's the longest DM Episode YET! Stick around though, we go some places!

It is an honor to have Dave on the show. He is one of my favorite comic book writers/artists and for good reason. His book Chasin' The Bird changed my perspective on reading comics and experiencing music. His artistic style is vivid and raw. It portrays so much detail beyond what you see.
He came on to talk to me about his exciting new book Enter The Blue (out January 2022), his origin story on getting into comics as well as his history with music

Steve is known as the guy that hates pineapple on pizza. Aside from being a well-accomplished tech journalist that is.
With that in mind we causally just talked about what's been keeping us up at night. Thankfully the recently released Halo Infinite Multiplayer has had no problem taking the responsibility for us.
Please join me as I slowly break down Steve into accepting pineapple as a viable topping on pizza in our current society.

Kids are really living in a great time right now. Who wouldn't want to learn with video games as the vessel of knowledge?!
Well thankfully kids have Zack Hartzman to thank for this. He created Hey Listen Games as a resource for people interested in utilizing video games in classrooms.

I've wanted to do this topic for a very long time and I couldn't have a better partner in crime than with Matt Ligeti.
The dude runs Comic Book Yeti, a site for comic reviews and more that cuts the filler and gets straight to the point.
Prepare to hear us build the shop of your DREAMS.

Why hasn't there been a current open-world Power Rangers game? We were close to one I'll tell ya that. Carlos was the concept artist for exactly that type of game, codenamed, Project Nomad. His designs are some of the most perfect iterations I've seen done to the MMPR team EVER!
We talked about his other work such as the infamous FAKE VIDEO GAME covers. Honestly, these will make you mad they're not real, like this TMNT one or this Star Fox one
Aside from his work on this, he has done so much more in the Pop Culture space. Make sure to check out his sites and more of his beautiful work

Shane has written a children's book about a year without Halloween (hence the title). But before we dive into that I wanted to just geek out with everything that I can pull out of that crazy brain of his. If you think all he does is kids books....think again

JUMP TALES KICKSTARTER - ENDS OCTOBER 17TH
Darren is a fantastic Cartoonist / Graphic Designer that is contributing to the upcoming Jump Tales mag.
He is currently trying to crack the code of portraying music in a visual-only medium. Seeing music in comics is one of the things I admire most about artists in comics (which started with Chasin' The Bird by Dave Chisholm - My Review)
I'm excited to talk with Darren more on these topics in future episodes!

Back and better than ever with a banger of an episode!
Apologies for the missing episode last week.
Ben Murray is best known for his roles in Light This City & Heartsounds, but I've always been amazed at the fact he started his own record label (Creator-Destructor Records), and to still be doing this 15 years later, on his own, is just amazing and worth celebrating.
As a long time fan, it was overall just a privilege to chat with the person who has created some of the music that helped me through some rough times (and still does today)

Savage Wizard is about a disgraced barbarian who must align with a (slightly) unhinged wizard to stop his former brother-in-arms from taking over the world.
I had Lesly Julien & Brian Flint join me to talk about the book leading up to their Kickstarter launch.
After that, we dove into what inspires them as creators and then what drives them in their fatherhood.
You know we had to talk about Bluey right?

Move over Cher, because Bongzeez is here to take over the one-name game.
Had a great time chatting with Mr. Zeez on the whole #CollectorsHelpingCollectors tag on Twitter that helps people in different cities or even countries track down hard-to-find toys!
Before digging into that we also randomly staggered into conversations about Beetleborgs, Climate control, Gripping to our childhoods, and the collapse of Target (Retail) in Canada.
Make sure to check out The Bongzeez Show on YouTube
Also mentioned during the show was eCollectibles - A Canadian retailer helping us get those toy goodness that's hard to get for fair prices (not an ad I SWEAR!)

If you read this week's episode title and are confused. Think of the theme song from DuckTales
Joining me this week is Sam Owen! He, along with a few other creatives, will be launching Jump Tales, A small press comics magazine for western fans of manga!
Sam walks me through what we can expect from the site, the upcoming Kickstarter (September 14th) amongst some other topics such as the new cowboy bebop tv show, his most inspiring manga, and influences
Make sure to follow those links and check everyone out

You'll hear him going through our childhood on Turtle Recall but today I am joined by Jason Sohiel as he surprises me live on the episode to tell me he just SKIPS ALL CUTSCENES IN GAMES?
Also he gets into his unique rating system - is it better than Devil May Cry 2? Is it as good as A Link to the Past?

She goes by NerfAlice online but she's known as Alice Matthews. An amazing artist out of Wales.
Her style is raw and unique. She captures her favorite interests in art form.
I had her on the show to discuss the term Fan Art and how it could sometimes be used to put down artists.
She also tells me about Charlie Cox and that damn smile!

BELIEVE!
That's where it all started. When you see Ted hit that sign you know what you're in for. It has been a motto of the show since day one and its still ingrained in it.
A special 3-way all Canadian boy cast talking about the fantastic Apple + series, Ted Lasso
Expect light LIGHT spoilers
