Description
Doing It Together is about empowering women and men to heal from cultural messages so that they can discover true pleasure and connection in their sexual relationship and marriage. This podcast addresses the common dynamic in a heterosexual relationship in which the wife doesn’t want and enjoy sex and the husband does.
Too often, the focus is placed on labels like “low libido” and “low sex drive” without addressing the root issues including physical and emotional safety, shame, porn use, unintentional pressure, lack of emotional awareness, and many others.
I’m Janna Denton-Howes, a Relationship Coach and Sex Educator who has specialized in this one area for the last 7 years, helping thousands of couples create a sex life that both partners can look forward to and genuinely enjoy. I’ve developed Doing It Together (formally known as “Wanting It More”), a unique program offering both men and women the tools, skills, and support to do the work required for a healthy and sustainable intimate life.
If you’re looking for a fresh perspective on how to have a great sex life that is truly nourishing, connecting, and fulfilling without any feelings of obligation, duty, or guilt, this is the podcast for you!

Janna speaks with Ericka about the use of alcohol and how it can become a crutch in intimate situations. Ericka started drinking in high school, initially finding that alcohol eased her anxiety and helped her feel more relaxed before sexual encounters. However, this pattern led to risky situations and a troubling reliance on alcohol to numb out her fears and concerns about sexual performance. The result was a disconnection from her true feelings and intuition. Now four years sober, Ericka has created a valuable resource kit for women navigating intimacy and sobriety, available at sobrietycurious.com. She’s seen many women in online sobriety groups struggle with the question, "What do I do about sex now that I’m not drinking?" Listen as Ericka shares her journey to a healthier, more authentic way of rediscovering intimacy and self-worth without the haze of alcohol. The waitlist for Janna's new Wanting It More Foundations Program is open. Celeste truly felt like she found her soul mate when she married her husband. She loved him deeply and could be her authentic self in their marriage...except during sex. She couldn’t understand how she could love someone so much yet dislike the sexual experience so intensely. She could never find the right words to express her feelings and would often cry after sex because she felt confused, frustrated, and broken.Raised in a culture that discouraged asking for help, it took her years to finally talk to her husband about seeking guidance about low sex drive from Janna. Together, they took the leap into the Doing It Together program, which opened the gates to the communication they had both been searching for, leading to transformative change in their relationship. The waitlist for Janna's new Wanting It More Foundations Program is open. At 51, Heather is finally discovering what truly brings her pleasure in sexual experiences by asking herself, “What do I need?” Although she was once a curious and precocious sexual being, her desire diminished during marriage when sex became an expectation and duty. The traditional formula of what sex should be didn't work for her and depleted her natural libido, but she couldn’t articulate why. It wasn't until she and her husband participated in the Doing It Together program that she realized she had been missing the nuances of true intimacy and neglecting the acts that brought her real pleasure and enjoyment. Listen to how Heather learned to unfollow the "media sex formula" rules, give specific directions, set boundaries, and savor the wide range of possibilities in the buffet of the sexual experience. The waitlist for Janna's new Wanting It More Foundations Program is open. It's our 100th episode! To celebrate, I'm announcing a big change: a name change. As I've evolved over the years and learned from the couples I've served, so has my program. After adding an entire men's coaching and education program to Wanting It More, I realized the name needed to reflect a broader perspective. I was no longer exclusively speaking to women with low libido; I was teaching couples to work together to achieve fulfilling sex lives in their marriages. So, as of today, the Wanting It More program and this podcast will now be called Doing It Together. I will continue to share the stories of men and women to help you better understand your own journey and to ultimately know that you aren't broken, you never were, and there's a better way forward. The waitlist for Janna's new Wanting It More Foundations Program is open. I know that was a hypothetical experience but I was also touched by how Janna was able to verbally express what she wanted and more importantly what she didn't want. I have been trying to communicate these wants to my husband for years and the main take away for him is " you have too many requests or dislikes" and " I don't make you jump through all of these hoops for me". Anytime there is a situation or there is something I don't like he responds" you don't love me like I love you". Thanks for listening
I am so glad that the facebook algorithm brought me to Wanting It More! I have now listened to the first 8 episodes and taken your online class. All I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart. I no longer feel guilty for saying no, ignoring my husband's comments and feeling shame. I have been given the ability to talk with my husband in a way that I feel safe and in control. I am so glad I am not alone.
