In this interview I sat down with Megan Poole. I do have a small disclaimer to drop here. When this interview was recorded Megan was an attorney with the Cortland County Department of Social Services, she has since moved on to another position but still continues to practice law. That being said, she's still willing to share her story in an interview that is honest, grounding, and a reminder that you get to choose your path forward in this life. As always I hope this episode inspires you to do it scared, enjoy!

On today’s episode I sat down and talked with Kit Patel. Kit is the kind of guy you can't help but instantly love when you first meet him. He's got great energy, easy going vibe, and he’s simply a great conversationalist. All of these traits made for a super fun and insightful interview. During our conversation Kit and I dug deep into his recent exploration of personal growth. He shared about how he is trying to combat the hard feelings of seeking external validation and finish line syndrome. He has found that refocusing on the small wins along the way is a great way to stay grounded and connected to everyday life instead of constantly thinking about what's next. This conversation ended up being full of little gems of advice and information from someone who has done a great job working on reflection and growth recently. As always I hope this episode inspires you to do it scared, enjoy!Kit's watch company on social media is @amptimepiece
On today’s episode I caught up with Spence Hartnett. I want to start by providing a trigger warning for the content of this episode. Within this interview we’ll be discussing important but sensitive topics of depression and suicidal ideation. Spence was willing to sit down and talk about all aspects of this life from his career in video game design to his struggles in his mental health. I understand this can be a sensitive topic for listeners, that being said Spence and I both believe in trying to create a space where tough topics can be shared and we can provide support for each other. I also want to highlight the fact that this episode about Spence is about so much more than just his mental health struggles. He has an incredible job at EA sports and it was so fun to interview him about a career field I know nothing about! Without further ado as always I hope this episode inspires you to do it scared, enjoy!
Hello everyone and welcome to “Doing it scared; With the Buzzing B’s” I’m your host Bri Clark along with my co-host Brittany Button. In this 20 minute breakout series on the first Thursday of every month, we share our opinions about various adulting experiences we have been through. In honor of my 32rd birthday, today's episode was hosted by a special guest, my little brother, Marc Harris! He took the chance to put me, Bri Clark, in the hot seat and ask me about my "doing it scared" experiences. We talked about my love for travel and musical theater, what it was like growing up as the older sibling and what's next on my list of adventures! I hope you enjoy learning a little more about me and as always I hope this episode inspires you to do it scared, enjoy!
On this week's episode I caught up with Sarah Maizel. Sarah and I met while studying recreation management at app state. Flash forward a couple years and Sarah tells me about how her career has taken her beyond the reaction field and into something she never really saw coming. But for Sarah changing career paths isn't the scariest thing she has done in recent years. Admitting to the realization that she had become unhappy in a long term relationship and deciding to end things, she says it is one of the hardest things she had to do. During our conversation Sarah was an open book about what she learned, what she hopes others can learn from her, and how she grew through this time in her life. As always I hope this episodes inspires you to do it scared, enjoy!
On this week's episode I sat down with Kayla Clark. Kayla is a woman who wears a lot of different hats, wife, mom, business owner, business developer, the list goes on and on. During our interview we talk about where her entrepreneurial mindset came from and how she has used it to grow not one, but two businesses. We chat about the struggles and triumphs of building a business from the group up and a little on how she balances it all in her life. Kayla is the definition of someone doing it scared, not because she necessarily does things scared but more so because she understands that things worth having take hard work and time and sometimes its simply about trusting the process. As always I hope this episodes inspires you to do it scared, enjoy!Kayla at Dryden Realty @tompkins_living The Corner Brew is @thecornerbrew_dryden

On this weeks episode I got the chance to reconnect with my friend Tyler Holms. Tyler and I first became friends while attending classes at the same community college. We both wholeheartedly admit that at the time neither of us knew what we wanted to do with the rest of our lives, but looking back at it, its safe to say we both turned out just fine! Tyler has done some incredible things in his life, from working at a summer camp for kids with special needs, moving his whole life to a different state to a city where he knew no one for a new job opportunity, getting married and he just just bought his first home! While chatting about our lives Tyler admits that he doesn’t take as much time as he would like to reflect back on how far he has come, and during this interview we talk about how nice it is when a friend provides that space for you. As always I hope this episodes inspires you to do it scared, enjoy!
On this weeks episode I sat down and talked with Dakota Rodriguez. Dakota is a member of the United States Space Force, a father, a husband, and honestly all around cool guy. We talked about his journey into the military, his first year of marriage being spent in a foreign country and a little about his outlook on parenting. Dakota shares about events in his life that helped shape who he is today. He doesn’t view these events as “struggles or hardships” but just simply as the pieces to the puzzle that life had given him. He is someone who likes to look forward and not dwell on the past but simply thank it for the lessons it provided. So, as always I hope this episode inspires you to do it scared, enjoy!
On today's episode I sat down and talked with Johnna Gray. Johnna and I actually went to high school together and have stayed connected over the years through a mutual friend. That being said, I had a lot of fun sitting down and getting to know more about the adult Johnna has become. We talk about her college experience, her work experience, her love of Disney and how through trial and error she has found a career in real estate that she really loves. One of the big things Johnna and I connected on during this interview is our recent complication of running a half marathon. Something neither of us had ever done before. It was really a special moment to talk about what this accomplishment meant to both of us! We both truly hope that our openness about doing something new and unknown inspires you to do it scared, enjoy!Johnna Grey Realtor on Instagram - @johnnagrayrealtor Johnna Disney Etsy shop Instagram - @undertheseam_
On today’s episode I sat down and talked with Austin Lindhorst. Austin and I first crossed paths as students at Appalachian State University, where we were both studying recreation management. We quickly became friends based on our mutual love for the outdoors, our want to connect with people, and our desire to simply enjoy life as it comes our way. This is something Austin really capitalized on after college. He is someone who has learned to just take whatever life throws at him and run with it. From living at the beach working seasonal jobs, to being a camp camp counselor via zoom during the pandemic and then moving out west to work for the national parks service, Austin has done it all! All while simply following what calls to him and making the best of it. One of my favorite parts about talking with Austin is his openness to talking about the success of his journey but also the hardships and struggles. He recognizes that life comes at you in waves and he's willing to ride them out with a smile on his face. So, as always I hope this episode inspires you to do it scared, enjoy!
On today's episode I got to sit down and talk with Rachel Beverly. Rachel is someone I would consider a jack of all trades! She has become this way by simply following her various passions throughout her life. Her love of music and entertainment is how she became a singer/songwriter. Her passion for helping people is how she became a personal trainer. And her passion for science and thirst for knowledge is what pushed her to go back to school for nursing. Rachels willingness to break free from the mold of expectations is a boldness I believe everyone should strive to have in their own life. It’s really what this podcast is all about. Being bold and following your own path in the face of hardship and the unknown. So, as always I hope this episode inspires you to do it scared, enjoy!Rachel's music account @rachelbeverlymusic Rachel's website for music is www.rachelbeverlymusic.comConnect with Rachel as a personal trainer @chpt_official
On today's episode I sat down with one of the coolest guys I know, although I have to admit I might be a little biased considering he is my little brother. My guest for this episode was none other than Marc Harris. Although I walked into this conversion well versed in Marc’s life, I really enjoyed hearing the deeper side of his journey into adulthood. We talked about his nontraditional high school classes, his years after high school where he was just a little lost but kept pushing forward, and then how he eventually ended up in the Space force. I've always known my brother to be a compassionate man, pretty level headed and easy going, and although I still believe all of those things to be true, it was interesting to learn about the man that is more than just my little brother. My brother is not afraid to take the road less traveled, or even take the wrong road honestly, as long as he's moving forward he's happy, and honestly, isn’t that what life is all about?
On today’s episode I had the opportunity to sit down with Kelsey Block. While talking with Kelsey I quickly learned that she is someone wise beyond her years, she has such a big heart and a huge desire to help people! She is one of those lucky people who found a way to channel all of these really wonderful traits and passion for helping people into her professional life by becoming a registered dietician! We chat during this episode about some of the technicalities of her job, along with the fun and exciting parts of it! She takes the time to answer some questions our listeners have as well as give some general nutrition advice. Although Kelsey is super passionate about her job, it was also really fun and exciting to talk about the person she is beyond work. We chatted about how she keeps a work life balance and the creative outlets she enjoys after spending the day at a job that is so heavily science based. Kelsey is someone who simply believes in following the trails for the things that make you happy in life and honestly, that’s something I think we could all get a little better at doing! On todays episode I sat down with McKayla Christopher. I’ll admit this conversation wasn’t what I expected, it ended up being so much better! During our chat McKalya and I talk about her career as a traveling nurse, the places its brought her and her husband and the things she has learned about herself while doing this highly demanding job. We talk about the idea of turning failures and rejections into door opening opportunities, something we recognize is easier said then done. We also take a deep into the ways McKayla has spent a lot of her young adult life dedicated to becoming her truest self, really learning about the things that make her happy and fulfilled. When digging a little deeper into what makes her happy, McKayla has found that helping people is really something she loves, as if her being a traveling nurse wasn’t proof enough of that, she is now working on her personal training certification to further help women live a wholistic life.Follow her traveling nurse adventures at @mckaylachristopher Follow her fitness & wellness journey at @herbalancedbody
On todays episode I got the chance to interview one of my mentors Rodolfo Bonates. Ro and I first met over zoom when he interviewed me for a position as a studio manager at Orangetheory Fitness. The funniest thing about that interview was that years later when we reflected back about it, he and I both agreed that it only took a few minutes of chatting for us to realize that we were two people cut from the same cloth and our lives were meant to overlap. Which is why even after we both left OTF I still consider him not only a mentor but a friend. Ro is someone who believes in investing in relationships, whether these be personal or professional. This passion for people is what has driven him throughout a majority of his career, so much so that Ro recently embarked on a journey of self employment to start his own consulting business and podcast. This interview ended up being a mix of insight into who Ro really is, what he loves, what he struggles with, and what drives him but also some insightful thoughts and conversation about what makes a good leader. Safe to say this episode is full of advice and passion!Instagram personal - @rodolfobonates Instagram for business - @ipl.consultingRo's Podcast: Impact Purpose Leadership Podcast on Spotify and YouTube
On todays episode I have a conversation with Melisa Davany. Melisa and I first met in the hallways of Homer high school, although She graduated 2 years before me, we have been friends ever since then. Since high school Melisa has done a lot of different things! She is one of those people who believes in following her passion, weather its in her personal life or her professional life. In trying to really figure out what is it that she loves, Melisa has tried several different career paths, and although that might seem a little scary and unsettling to most people, she has embraced the opportunity to learn something new and then continues to build in her passion from there. Melisa’s openness to trying new things and simply following her passion in life is something that I think is much easier said than done for most of us! And honestly extremely refreshing!
