This RERUN was from episode #77 and in this episode Mel and Trish sit down with their long-term friend Lisa Curry to chat about, among other things, life, business, and hormones. Although Lisa is well known for her sporting achievements, television appearances and involvement on the speaking circuit, many don’t realise she is also a successful businesswoman.In 2015, Lisa established Happy Healthy You, an Australian-based health and lifestyle company with women’s hormonal specialist and Naturopath, Jeff Butterworth. Although the girls have never wanted to hyper-focus on hormones, in the end, it’s an unavoidable topic for midlife women. Hold onto your hats because for their #97th episode, Mel and Trish lean right into the woo woo, when they hook up online to County Laois, in Ireland to chat to the truly incredible Elizabeth Grant about soul enlightenment.From a young age, Elizabeth felt different and connected in some way to a higher source. Fast forward to adulthood and having fallen very ill following the birth of her second child, Elizabeth’s doctors were unable to determine what was wrong with her. In a final act of desperation, she turned to spiritual healing, and this single act, changed her live forever. She went on to complete studies in Reiki, Integrated Energy Therapy, Massage, Reflexology, BioGeometry and Body Talk then in 2009, added Spiritual Response Therapy (SRT) to her list of accreditations.The girls learn about spiritual committees and the role they play in the process of clearing. They talk about healing and past lives. In episode #89, Mel and Trish were excited to chat to the very awesome Louise Pfeiffer, a smart-smart girl with a lifelong calling to do good in the world. After completing two university degrees and spending years working in the highly competitive financial services sector, Louise found herself at a career crossroads and decided to follow her calling. Louise is now director of philanthropy at ‘The Life You Can Save,’ an organisation that curates a group of nonprofits that either save or improve the most lives per dollar. This takes a lot of stress out of the donation process. The organisation carries out due diligence, and provides an impact calculator which quantifies the impact of donations, there is also a questionnaire to help donors decide exactly where to donate.Louise is a calm force of nature trying to achieve social change by reducing suffering and if that’s not enough, in 2017 she decided to step into the political ring and joined the Animal Justice Party of which she is now Vice President.It seems there is no stopping Louise. In episode #86, Mel and Trish sit down with writer, speaker, and ABC broadcaster Sheridan Stewart to chat about the recent release of her book I Am Enough and the impetus behind its conception. Sheridan Stewart had been struggling with burnout for years but couldn’t find a way to break the cycle of rushing about feeling guilty for spending and eating too much as well as not being a good enough wife, mother, friend and so on. Verbalising her complaints to her husband, he suggested she go back three months to look at where she spent her money, how she spent her time and why she was always rushing. This suggestion led Sheridan on a quest to prioritise calm, selfcare and what really matters in life. She set herself a 90-day challenge to spend less and this experience made her contemplate what it means to have enough, do enough and ultimately be enough. It also inspired her to write about her experience. The challenge wasn’t just about how she spent her money either, but how she spent her time and the affect a lack of work boundaries was having on her life.Sheridan wants to inspire others to follow her lead and take the challenge. She has created a simple, do-it-yourself way to spend less and have more.
