Douglas Merrick on Romans

Explore the many blessings we have through our redemption that is in Christ Jesus with me here in Romans 8!

Romans 6--7 forms a kind parenthesis between chapters 5 and 8, because of the much needed explanation of the Christian's relationship to sin, to the law of God and to Jesus Christ. Hope you enjoy this excellent study!

In this episode I've tackled the wrong approach to sin's relationship to grace. Grace abounding is not dependent upon sin's commission. It is rather the law's just exposure and condemnation of sin that increases the radiance of grace in the believer's life. Enjoy, comment and share.

In this podcast, I analyze the analogies of baptism in Christ Jesus, baptism into death, burial with Christ, and the resurrection of Christ. Understanding these analogies has impact upon our grasp of what it means to be "in Christ". Hope you enjoy!

In this episode, I look into the substance of the language in Romans 5:12-21, and find that Paul basically presented the Covenant of Works, juxtaposing Adam's administration of it with Christ's administration of it. The application of this knowledge moves one to a better understanding and appreciation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
