Dave Rebstock was Morningside’s longtime Sports Information Director before he suddenly passed away in the summer of 2018. Known on campus and among his peers to have a steel trap of a mind when it came to sports and statistics, and trust me, this was not limited to  Morningside, Dave gave his all to acknowledge and celebrate every athlete’s successes.
John Sievert was Morningside’s second individual National Champion in wrestling, claiming the 2013 title for the 197 pound weight class. He was the 2013 GPAC wrestler of the year, an NAIA All-American, and a three-time all-conference selection.
Kelley Ashby was a multi-sport standout for Morningside, playing a role in softball, volleyball, and basketball in her time on campus. She was a two-time all-conference selection by the Io-Kota in softball and was selected NAIA All-District both seasons. Ashby was part of the Io-Kota conference championship teams in both softball and volleyball in 1988 and was a member of the 1990 softball team that made the move to the North Central Conference.
Cassie (Cheever) Kubik was a four year starter as a middle blocker for the Mustangs’ volleyball team. She was the first volleyball player in Morningside history to receive first or second team all-conference honors all four years. She was part of the 2007 team that won a Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason tournament title, and was named second team all-region by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics in 2006.
Beau Kildow was a standout wide receiver and return specialist for the Mustangs. He was a three-time first team all-conference wide receiver and two-time first team all-conference punt returner. Kildow was also a 2008 and 2009 College Fanz Sports Network first team All-American.
Kelly Anderson is the girls basketball coach at Ballard High School.  His team was the 2021 Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union 4A state champion and took the runner up title in 2022.  Anderson has been the head coach of the Bombers for a decade, but has seen the program become a perennial powerhouse in his 20 years of coaching at different levels in the district.
Morningside University first-year softball coach Brooke Pruner looks ahead to the 2023 campaign during the Mustangs' annual summer golf outing.
With their 2022 season openers right around the corner, head football coach Steve Ryan and head men's and women's cross country Frank Wallace share insights on their teams.
Head men's and women's coach Tom Maxon looks ahead to the new years with plenty of anticipation, as he discusses preseason workouts and some of the leaders for both programs.
Morningside University women's volleyball coach Jessica Squier discusses some of the early leaders on the 2022 Mustangs and why she has enjoyed the build up to the beginning of the year.
The 2022-23 Morningside University athletics Down The Mside Line podcast series starts with a look back at the Mustangs' men's and women's basketball summer golf outings. We hear from alumnae Maddie Clayton and alumnus Garth Hamilton about their experiences as well as head coaches Jamie Sale and Trent Miller.
Head coaches Jessica Squier and Tom Maxon share insights on the biggest accomplishments from their teams as the road to 2022 continues.
Morningside University alumnus and former men's basketball player Dustin Cooper talks about his role with The Arena Sports Academy and how his experience as an undergraduate on campus has led him to where he is today.
Head coach Steve Ryan discusses the many positives seen out of spring camp and some of the fun things about the 2022 spring game.
Former Morningside University men's and women's track and field and cross country student-athletes Neeia Cooperwood, Monte Larsen, Michelle Mumm, and Jay Welp share memories and what the Mustangs head coach, who is concluding his final season at the helm of the program, has meant to them on and off the track and course.
In what will be a new regular feature of Down The Mside Line, tennis coach and walking Mustangs athletics historical compendium Larry Mason joins us to share the fascinating behind the scenes story of the M Club blanket (remember those?), the Athletic Hall of Fame, and a favorite memory of a past M Club luncheon.
Tom Davis, a former resident of the Morningside community area of Sioux City and a life-long Mustangs gridiron fan, recounts some riveting tales his father Harlan "Hoss" Davis, an Mside alum, regaled him with about his late grandfather Lee Davis, head coach of Mside in 1946 and 1947, and how he brought George Allen, the legendary NFL coach, to Sioux City. He also discusses an article he wrote for Hatch Magazine about the Morningside - Notre Dame football series of the 1910s.
Morningside University alumnus Delbert Christensen enjoys following many Mustangs sports but softball tops the list. He talks in this episode about a group seeking to start a summer collegiate fastpitch league in the Siouxland area and the renovation of Sioux City's venerable Hubbard Park.
Four former Morningside softball student-athletes look back at their favorite memories with the long-time softball coach and how she played an integral role in their collegiate experiences.
Down The Mside Line collaborates with Inside Mside on this trip down memory lane with long-time education professor and Mustangs sports historian/fan Dr. Sharon Ocker. We talk cowbell, Who's It cards, and more during this episode.
