M Club Hall of Fame 2022 - Dave Rebstock

Dave Rebstock was Morningside’s longtime Sports Information Director before he suddenly passed away in the summer of 2018. Known on campus and among his peers to have a steel trap of a mind when it came to sports and statistics, and trust me, this was not limited to  Morningside, Dave gave his all to acknowledge and celebrate every athlete’s successes.

M Club Hall of Fame 2022 - John Sievert

John Sievert was Morningside’s second individual National Champion in wrestling, claiming the 2013 title for the 197 pound weight class. He was the 2013 GPAC wrestler of the year, an NAIA All-American, and a three-time all-conference selection.

M Club Hall of Fame 2022 - Kelley Ashby

Kelley Ashby was a multi-sport standout for Morningside, playing a role in softball, volleyball, and basketball in her time on campus. She was a two-time all-conference selection by the Io-Kota in softball and was selected NAIA All-District both seasons. Ashby was part of the Io-Kota conference championship teams in both softball and volleyball in 1988 and was a member of the 1990 softball team that made the move to the North Central Conference.

M Club Hall of Fame 2022 - Cassie (Cheever) Kubik

Cassie (Cheever) Kubik was a four year starter as a middle blocker for the Mustangs’ volleyball team. She was the first volleyball player in Morningside history to receive first or second team all-conference honors all four years. She was part of the 2007 team that won a Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason tournament title, and was named second team all-region by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics in 2006.

M Club Hall of Fame 2022- Beau Kildow

Beau Kildow was a standout wide receiver and return specialist for the Mustangs. He was a three-time first team all-conference wide receiver and two-time first team all-conference punt returner. Kildow was also a 2008 and 2009 College Fanz Sports Network first team All-American.

M Club Coach of the Year - Kelly Anderson

Kelly Anderson is the girls basketball coach at Ballard High School.  His team was the 2021 Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union 4A state champion and took the runner up title in 2022.  Anderson has been the head coach of the Bombers for a decade, but has seen the program become a perennial powerhouse in his 20 years of coaching at different levels in the district.

Tom Davis, a former resident of the Morningside community area of Sioux City and a life-long Mustangs gridiron fan, recounts some riveting tales his father Harlan "Hoss" Davis, an Mside alum, regaled him with about his late grandfather Lee Davis, head coach of Mside in 1946 and 1947, and how he brought George Allen, the legendary NFL coach, to Sioux City. He also discusses an article he wrote for Hatch Magazine about the Morningside - Notre Dame football series of the 1910s.
