What a Saturday! It was so great, we had to break them up into separate podcasts, which we give to you together! On Episode 777, we discuss Duke Football winning the ACC title over Virginia, its first ACC football title since 1989. Scott Rich joins Donald and Jason for both episodes to make it a ton of fun. First, it’s the football, where Duke overcame all odds and every cynic to avenge a November loss to the Virginia Cavaliers, taking them out in overtime to claim Duke’s first ACC football title since 1989 and first outright title since 1962. It was a phenomenal effort and some great calls during the game to win the title, and we love that this team fought through all it did to emerge as the ACC champions. They may not be in the playoff, but they can’t take that feeling away! Next, you’ll switch to the other episode and get the basketball recap as Duke took out Michigan State at the hostile Breslin Center. It was a hard fought, physical game, but Duke was able to move to 10-0 on the season and hold perhaps the best resume and best player in all of college basketball. We talk about all the good from this game along with the things to improve, and of course we discuss the play of the game and our player of the week. It was a special day to be a Blue Devil! Immediately after you finish this, check out Episode 778 for our recap of Duke Men’s Basketball’s win at the Breslin Center against Michigan State! Make sure you’re following us! It will come as no big surprise to hear they are a hard-working team that attacks the boards with unrenetling pressure. After the break, the focus turns to football as Jason and Scott assess what it will take for Duke to find a victory in Charlotte on national TV and, maybe, a chance to get to the College Football Playoff.  Learn more about your ad choices. What is it about the ACC-SEC Challenge and Isaiah Evans? After burying Auburn under a barrage of threes a year ago, he turns the tables by hitting almost nothing against Florida this year... until the moment when it mattered most. The Duke Basketball Roundup has a joyous recap of a thrilling game that was as tense and exciting as just about any you will see. Duke pulled it out thanks to some stellar play by the big men, Cameron Boozer, Pat Ngongba, and Maliq Brown. Jason and Donald give you all the good moments from this game and also dive into what it was that caused Duke to struggle so much on the boards against Florida. Enjoy the win now because Duke faces a true road game against another great rebounding team this weekend in Michigan State.   Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
We’re back with Episode 775 where we begin with our preview of the Florida Gators and NO WE DON’T! DUKE’S IN THE ACC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! All plans to start with the Florida preview were thrown out the window the second a SMU kicker sent his potential game-tying field goal yards right of the uprights, sending Duke to its second ever ACC title game. We have to lead with the events that led up to that moment and how Duke took out Wake Forest to set up this possibility. This weekend will be a championship weekend (Women’s Soccer in the College Cup, Duke Football in the ACCCG) with a Duke-Sparty matchup, and we will preview that in full later this week. More immediately ahead of us is the ACC-SEC Challenge matchup with the defending national champions, who come into Cameron on the struggle bus, but are still a strong opponent. We get into how they’ve done, what the metrics say about them and what we’ve seen from their players. We then get into the things to watch as that game takes place on Tuesday (and the team is calling for a Blackout!). We also get into some of the other ACC-SEC Challenge matchups and our hopes for the ACC. Make sure you’re following us! The Duke Basketball Roundup is breathing a huge sigh of relief after the Blue Devils took down a spirited and extremely talented Arkansas club in a Thanksgiving night matchup that was non-stop thrills. As Jason and Donald tell us, this was more than just the Cameron Boozer show as Duke's Player of the Year candidate got help from unexpected places like Caleb Foster and Nik Khamenia. The back and forth contest also showed that perhaps one thing that separates this Duke club from last year's stellar bunch is the ability to close out games in the clutch. Thanksgiving will be extra special for Duke fans this year as the Blue Devils play in prime time on CBS against the Arkansas Razorbacks of John Calipari. Coach Calalways has a talent-laden roster and this year is no exception with multiple players who figure to be in the lottery conversation when the NBA Draft rolls around. The Duke Basketball Roundup breaks down everything you need to know about this big, big game. This episode of DBR Bites also includes quick nuggets on Nina King; a big NIL deal for a pair of Dukies; and an update on how other ACC teams are doing in their holiday tournaments.   Learn more about your ad choices. We return with Episode 773 to recap a great weekend on the basketball court and the football field! Duke Men’s Basketball finished out the weekend with a 93-56 victory over Kenny Blakeney, Nate James, and the Howard Bison. We discuss some of the takeaways from the game, which lived in the 58 paint points Duke had! We discuss some of the things to improve as we look ahead to a big week and hand out Play of the Game and Player of the Week honors. After the break, we shift to the football, as Todd Pelino became the hero in a 32-25 Duke win over UNC. Duke took care of the football and made some great plays, but it was the gutsy fake field goal call late in the game that has us so happy. And…dare I say the ACC Championship Game hopes are not dead just yet! Make sure you’re following us! In one of the most balanced attacks in recent memory, Duke dismantled the Niagara Purple Eagles of Greg Paulus in the first game of The Brotherhood Run. DBR podcast hosts Jason and Donald were impressed with the defense, the shooting, the depth, and passing and just about everything else Duke put on display in this game. They also enjoyed listening to Jim Boeheim, who was in full comedian mode much of the game. The latest edition of the Duke Basketball Roundup also dives into other ACC action from Friday, including 4 important matchups in which the ACC went an impressive 4-0. There is little question the ACC is significantly better and deeper than it was last year. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
It is a weekend to celebrate connections at Duke as Kenny Blakeney and Greg Paulus come home... and they bring their basketball teams with them. The Brotherhood Run will feature Duke against Niagara (coached by Greg Paulus) on Friday and Duke against Howard (coached by Kenny B) on Sunday. Oh, and the two teams will play each other in Cameron on Saturday, which should also be a ton of fun. The Duke Basketball Roundup has a preview of what to expect from these contests, the players to watch out for and the things Howard and Niagara do that could present challenges to Duke. Have a listen as Jason and Donald break it all down. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
We’re back with Episode 771 to recap Duke’s big win against Kansas in the Champions Classic! Jason and Donald are still happy after a Duke performance that took out the Jayhawks in a big game at Madison Square Garden. They start with the headlines from the game and get into all of the good things they saw on both offense and defense, including some gritty, determined play that got Duke into the lead and allowed them to control the second half. They highlight performances from Cam and Cayden Boozer, Pat Ngongba and Isaiah Evans. In a big time game under the bright lights, they performed bright. We also discuss the things to work on, from the early start to some of the details, like free throws. All in all, it was another test passed for the Blue Devils as they get ready for the Brotherhood Run. Make sure you’re following us! Duke has a big game on Tuesday in Madison Square Garden. The Duke Basketball Roundup is here with a preview of everything you need to know about the Kansas Jayhawks, including the uncertain status of their star freshman Darryn Peterson. The Jayhawks are a different team without Peterson and it robs all of us of a huge matchup with Cameron Boozer... but Kansas is still dangerous and Duke will need to bring focus to a big time, national TV matchup. After the break, Jason and Donald dive into the end (probably) of Duke's ACC championship football dream. They discuss what went wrong in that dispiriting loss to Virginia. Whew... what can you say about Cameron Boozer's big game? The Duke Basketball Roundup is almost at a loss for words to describe the stat-stuffing outburst from the star freshman. And there was much more to enjoy in this game beyond just the big performance by Cam. Duke showcased defensive disruption that will give migraines to opposing offenses. After the break, Jason and Donald dive into Cam Williams, yet another 5-star high schooler who has decided to come to Durham next year. They also discuss Kon Knueppel's homecoming and the wild women's game against West Virginia. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
It is going to be a big Friday for the Duke Blue Devils. First and foremost, there is a game against Indiana State. The Sycamores may not be a power conference team, but this is a step up from the past couple games against lower tier D1 programs. The Duke Basketball Roundup breaks down how Indiana State plays and who their dangerous players are in this contest. Plus, Friday will also bring some big recruiting news as the best PF in high school, 6-11 defensive whiz Cameron Williams will announce where he will play basketball next year. Duke, Arizona, and Texas are his finalists. The DBR lets you know what to expect from a kid who looks like a special talent. Finally, after the break the podcast gang looks ahead to Saturday's football contest against Virginia. This is a monster game that likely goes a long way toward determining who will make the ACC Championship game. Duke's path to glory is right there... and it begins with a victory over UVA. The Duke Blue Devils went to West Point on Veterans Day and blasted Army by a 114-59 score. Jason and Donald recap the win on Episode 768. Duke got the shooting going and the defense was suffocating. But it was also a historic night at West Point as a record crowd witnessed the game, and both teams put on a show in the first half. We go through the headlines and all the good from this game, from Dame Sarr to Darren Harris to Cayden Boozer, and more! We also look at the things to improve from this game, and in a game where Duke puts up 114 points and wins by 55 points, there will be some nitpicking. But, as this team moves forward, this was a huge confidence boost. Make sure you’re following us! Jason and Donald bring you a quick preview of the Black Knights and what people should watch for on Tuesday night. West Point, Duke-Army, Veterans Day…it’s going to be a special night, but Duke should also do what it needs to do to get the win. Duke crushed Carolina on Saturday... no, not that Carolina, the Western variety. The Blue Devil defense overwhelmed the Catamounts, holding them scoreless for 7 minutes early in the first half to make it an easy afternoon of hoops watching for Duke fans. The Boozer brothers, both of them, were the stars of this one and the Duke Basketball Roundup podcast has a breakdown of all the things they did to help Duke to a convincing victory. Also on this episode, the podcast dudes talk about a tough loss for the football team at UConn. It was an exciting, back-and-forth game that wasn't decided until the final seconds. Perhaps more importantly for Duke football, a couple other top ACC teams lost on Saturday meaning the the door to the ACC championship game is wide open for the football Blue Devils. Just win baby and it will all happen! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Whether you know what a Catamount is or not, you always need to respect your opponent. That's why the Duke Basketball Roundup takes time before every single Duke basketball game to preview the team coming up next on the calendar. But, before Jason and Donald get to their lookahead at Western Carolina, they welcome longtime basketball writer and host of The Underdogs Podcast, Jordan Brenner to the show. You may recall a year ago that Jordan made regular appearances on the DBR Pod to talk about how he saw Duke progressing and growing. Once again this year he will come on the pod every now and then to provide expert commentary on the growth of Jon Scheyer's latest team. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
The Duke Blue Devils were able to surge in the second half to defeat the Texas Longhorns in the Dick Vitale Invitational, and we recap the first game of the season on Episode 765. Donald and Jason begin with the headlines from a game that was a tale of two halves in many respects. We then get into the good stuff, from the team defense to Cam Boozer’s second half to Isaiah Evans hitting a bushel of 3s to keep Duke moving forward. We love some of the things we saw and the fight we showed in once again overcoming a slower start. We then get into the things to improve, and there were plenty from the first official game of the season. The team will certainly look to get better as they dive head on into the season, with Western Carolina the next test this weekend. Make sure you’re following us! The Duke Basketball Roundup dives into one of the most thrilling college football games of the year as Duke took down Clemson 46-45. Manny Diaz needs to be nicknamed "stones" for the gutsy calls he made on 4th down and in going for 2 to win the game. Jason and Donald loved it and, because it all worked, he looks like a genius ;) After the break, the "basketball" part of the podcast kicks into high gear as the guys preview Duke's first game of the regular season, a tilt in Charlotte agains the Texas Longhorns. Listen in to hear what Texas brings back from last year's tourney team and what they added via the portal. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Heel fan. I will admit that I started to get a lump in my throat during the post game. Even though I don't like Duke but the rivalry and college basketball will never be the same.
