Dungeons and Disableds

The young couple walks slowly towards the last house on the street at the outermost town limits of Haven’s Rest. They stop for a moment, clasp each other’s hands and turn the corner, and as soon as they cross the threshold of the street towards that last house, the entire world around them starts to get darker and several degrees colder. The well-maintained road fades into thick, uncut grass and dead leaves. Quiet is the word of the day at The Odditorium, a curio shop of Oddities, rare trinkets, and some enchanted items. Not much is happening in the world of the arcane. Kinda just an average day. It makes sense; the arcane leylines had been off a bit for the past week, so there's not much interest in investing in the odd curiosities of the world. But Poppy, the owner and founder of “The Odditorium”, doesn’t notice or also seem to care. The blue and white glow of the arcane gate in the town center now fills with orange and purple as the sun peaks over the horizon. We’ve all been to a small town before with an arcane gate, right? You know how it is. Visitors and merchants travel the arcane highway to visit this little town to do business or enjoy the “quiet life.” The Obsidian Senate would describe Haven’s Rest as a town of “some importance,” and they would be right. It has a harbour, which is nice. It has a good population of townsfolks and mages who like to study away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It even has a few taverns to keep things fun. This season of mini-shots, we’ll take a look at what this specific day looks like for some of its citizens.
