As friends of the podcast already know, it’s DG FISMA (The Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union) that prepares joint proposals for Regulations on sanctions for adoption by the Council of the European Union, and represents the European Commission in sanctions-related discussions with Member States. The EEAS is our partner in this, especially when it comes to dealing with countries OUTSIDE the EU.
