Touchbacks: Ball spotted at the 14-yard line (previously 20). Flag Guarding: Still a penalty, but no longer results in loss of down; must involve contact. Intentional Grounding: Now a foul with loss of down. Game Format: Switch from 2 halves β†’ 4 quarters (12 minutes each at varsity level). Clock Rules: Stops for penalties, scores, changes of possession, and final 2 minutes of halves. Timeouts: 2 per half, no carryover; includes a 2-minute warning timeout. Punting: Now legal; special recovery rules apply. Screen Blocking: Legal for the first time (non-contact only). Rush Rules: No more 7-yard rush mark; any player a yard off the ball can rush.
