Did you know that we, the consumers are ultimately part of what drives farmers to grow what they grow? Did you realize that over time, due to a lot of our own demands food has become less diverse in nature? Today we're going to discuss this some along with the ramifications of our decisions.
Today we will discuss agriculture and the history of farming in the US and then compare it to more modern methods.  I find the best way to see where we are going as a population is to look at where we've been and this applies in farming as well possibly.   I’m not a farmer, per se. Just a Master Gardener. I do raise animals, grow a garden, I have a small orchard here in Interior Alaska.  I hope you enjoy this and let me know if you have feedback!  I welcome it all!
Hey all, first exciting day! I'm just learning Anchor so definitely bear with me (after all I'm a Gen X'er, we're not known for our tech abilities like Millennials or Gen Z) but I do have some exciting news. I'm right in the middle of writing a very lengthy podcast that will most likely be between 5-10 episodes.  This will be all on the history of farming in the USA, nutrition, shopping locally, growing your own and just why should you do it.  I cannot WAIT to get started on it!  There's so much to talk about here and this honestly is a favorite subject for me.   I hope to see you on future episodes! I promise you won't want to miss them!
