I truly related to this. my mum would beat me. she let my stepdad abuse me in everyway. and now she's constantly needing to hear how she was a good mother. I struggle with balance with her. I get told I am her favourite I was the best child. yet I was the focus of all the abuse (I had a sister who was a very rebellious trouble maker who never felt this abuse and thinks I made it all up).
