Earlier today, I popped in a set of Apple AirPods, jumped onto an uptown 6 train, and began a short journey to our New York office. That would be a pretty apt description of any of my daily commutes to work, but today was different: Because I was using the new AirPods Pro, I didn't have to dial up the volume dangerously high to hear my music over the din. Apple's new, $249 wireless earbuds hit stores tomorrow, and they're a big improvement over the models we've already gotten used to. As you probably guessed, we're putting together a full, comprehensive review we'll publish later on, but the AirPods Pro have made a strong enough impression that I had to share a few thoughts now. Tesla's handy Smart Summon feature was hailed as the next big thing in motoring convenience when it was first announced earlier this year. Press a button and the car comes to you? Brilliant. The Hero 8 isn’t foolproof, but it’s heading in that direction. The clever new design and the new UI make this the friendliest GoPro yet for newbies and experienced users alike. For me, I’m actually excited about using a GoPro again, in a more creative way. Rather than routinely using it in the same mode all the time. And that’s more important than ever, now that DJI is providing some much needed competition. At the end of the day, I can’t help but feel that iPadOS 13 is a more significant update than iOS 13 — not only does it include more stuff, it also suggests we’ll start to see the feature gap between iPhones and iPads grow wider before long. Good. That’s how it should be — Apple has long insisted that the iPad represented its vision for the future of computing, and it’s about time the software powers it all steps it up. Today, Amazon held its second-annual hardware deluge. Like last year, the company had a lot to unveil. It revealed a slew of Echo devices, Alexa-powered wearables, Ring's first indoor security cam and a smart oven. OnePlus doesn't want its fans to have to wait a year for a phone with the most advanced chipset available. So in 2016 it started launching new flagships about every six months. Beginning with the OnePlus 3T, the company began doing sort of mid-cycle upgrades, or "T" variants each year. Then with the OnePlus 7, the company introduced a "Pro" version, offering a higher-end device for those willing to pay a bit more. Things got even more confusing when OnePlus got ready to launch the T-versions. For one, there's no Pro version. At least not yet. Instead we're only getting a OnePlus 7T. And weirdly, it gains some features once exclusive to the 7 Pro. It even packs a more powerful processor, but sticks with a lower res screen. The latest footage from Boston Dynamics is, unsurprisingly, both impressive and terrifying. Over the past few years we've seen Atlas navigate uneven terrain and even jump around a parkour course. This is on another level, though. The bipedal robot does a handstand, rolls around and even does a few jumping twists -- all without losing its balance.
