Engineer Like a Girl

Caitlin Moffett (from Season 1, Episode 1) joins the podcast as a co-host for Season 2. Season 2 will feature a different woman engineer of the past in each episode, and her contributions to technology and innovation. Although Hedy was very innovative, her intelligence was often overshadowed by her beauty and fame as an actress. However, later in life, Hedy finally received the acclamations she deserved for her contributions to technology. Some of her awards include the 1997 Electronic Frontier Foundation’s Pioneer Award and the 1997 Bulbie Gnass Spirit of Achievement Award.Journalist Fleming Meeks gave permission for the use of a clip of audio of Hedy Lamar from a  1990 interview, which can be heard at the beginning of this episode.
