Accomplished Second Assistant Director, film industry veteran and devout rock and roll fan Josh Watkins joins Dewey and Christina to riff on mental health and illness in the film and music industries, rock books worth devouring and what it was like working on the only film being shot in the world during COVID. Dewey also reflects on the Mad Max-like conditions in modern Portland in a wide-ranging conversation that touches everything.
Dewey and Christina riff on mental health, Dewey's mysteriously detached experience of life right now, the primal nature of sex and selection, what fight or flight does to being human and lots more in this far-ranging conversation.
Lochlan Watt is an independent musician, frontman and founder of his band RUN, his latest music adventure after some high-profile gigs. He's also the host of Australian radio station Triple J's The Racket, the weekly heavy metal show. Here he dives deep into life after his cancer diagnosis and recovery, taking risks, why screaming is good for your mental health and why everyone loves dicks.
Musician Nate Newton (Converge, Old Man Gloom, Cave In) reflects on mental health as a musician, why all guitar riffs are stupid, life, the universe and everything in between.
Christina and Dewey explore their experiences of their respective mental health conditions, reflect on what elements are shared by everyone who faces mental health struggles, discuss the differences between living in an unarmed country vs. an armed country and learn all about one of the most important four letter words in the Australian language.
Activist Richie Hardcore joins Dewey and Christina for a deep dive into mental health and how it relates to young men, violence and masculinity, modern sex education and the rise of OnlyFans, cancel culture, whether anyone deserves a road to redemption and young mens' experiences as what it means to be a good man transforms before our eyes.  ABOUT RICHIE HARDCORE:  Richie Hardcore is a board member at White Ribbon New Zealand, Ministry of Social Development and an 'It's Not Ok' Champion who is working to end men's violence against women. He is an educator and public speaker, focusing on exploring masculinity and ending rape culture, sexual and family violence. He also speaks passionately about mental health and wellness, and as a former alcohol and drug harm reduction community worker, on how we can address AOD issues in our society.
Meet your hosts Dewey Halpaus (Peer Pleasure podcast) and Christina Rowatt. We riff on our own experiences of mental health, mental illness and reflect on what it means to be stable. Dewey also shares a harrowing story that taught him the value of life.
