14: Training - Planning For Your Future

Have you ever heard the saying ‘when we fail to plan, we plan to fail’?  You can’t build an amazing house without a blueprint.  You can’t build a great business without a compelling vision.  What plans have you made to get to where you want to be?  A good place to start is understanding where we currently are.  Once you know where you are and where you want to be, you can create a path to get there.  Whether it be in family, faith, fitness, or finance, where do you want to make improvements?  In order to realize your vision you have to ask yourself if you have the right materials and resources.  When you have a good vision you have a better outcome.  If you have no target you’re guaranteed to miss the mark. So get out of autopilot, get intentional, and be the kind of person you can be proud of. -- I am the Straight-Edged Entrepreneur. 13: Fitness - 5 Mistakes Business Leaders Make With Their Health

We have back in the studio Ashton Tate from Glory to Glory Fitness and we’re talking about the five mistakes business leaders make with their health and wellness. Business leaders are often successful at work but sometimes to the detriment of other parts of life, sometimes their health. One big mistake is not having a vision for your health.  Why do you want to be healthy?  Maybe it’s to be around for your grandchildren.  Anchor your health to deeper things.  Be clear on your intentions for your health and take small, intentional steps everyday.  Another mistake made is thinking you're too busy or that there will be a better time.  You have to make the time.  You either spend time on the front end staying healthy or you spend it on the back end with health issues. Tune in to hear the other 3 mistakes business leaders make. -- I am the Straight-Edged Entrepreneur. Survivor of abuse, ward of the court, runaway, and a drug addict by 14 years old. Now entrepreneur & businessman. I had a spiritual encounter that changed everything in my life. 12: Training - Investing in your Pocketbook

Today we’re talking about financial investments and the lies we’re told about money.  Money is neither good nor bad, it’s simply an object.  Like a weapon is an object, whether it’s good or bad depends on whose hands it's in.  Don’t believe the extremes concerning money; money does matter, but money isn’t the only thing that matters.  What limiting beliefs do you have around money?  Do you believe that money is hard to come by and there isn’t enough to go around?  Do you believe that rich people are evil, corrupt, or entitled?  Your limiting beliefs could be keeping you from a life of abundance.  Let’s talk about how to change our belief systems in order to get different results.  Let’s learn to seize the opportunities given to us, live in moderation, and reach our full potential. -- I am the Straight-Edged Entrepreneur. 11: Fitness - Emotional Wellbeing

Today we have special guests Zack and Jeremy from the Fit Mess podcast.  With their last episode being about releasing your trauma to their next episode being about medicinal uses of essential oils, these guys touch on it all.  They admit that years ago they would’ve laughed at these topics but they have allowed themselves to be open to different experiences and are better for it.  Things like feelings shouldn’t be taboo for men, they’re a vital part of health and wellbeing.  Being a whole person means being curious and growing.  Would you agree that vulnerability is a super power?  Try to not believe everything you think, to be open.  Try to question things, to dig deeper.  That vulnerability will allow you to connect with people in a really meaningful way. -- I am the Straight-Edged Entrepreneur. 10: Training - Making Investments Into Your Health & Nutrition

Obesity is hard and being fit is hard, you get to choose your hard.  Just remember you can’t be successful while forsaking your body.  What kind of relationships can you have without a body?  What great business can you build without a body?  What kind of impact can you have without a body?  The answer is you can’t.  Everything we want is wrapped up in the human experience and it all requires a body.  The ancient people considered the body a temple, a container for the holy spirit that dwells within each one of us.  If that doesn’t give you a sense of importance of taking care of yourself, I don’t know what will.  Take a look at what you're consuming and doing with your body.  Your daily routine and your health should be a positive impact on your faith, family, fitness, and finances.

9: Fitness - Five Cornerstones of Health with Ashton Tate

Today we have special guest Ashton Tate from Glory to Glory Fitness. We’re discussing the five cornerstones of health and how you can apply them to your life. Taking audience questions we’re getting to the bottom of optimal health. The first cornerstone is functional fitness, never forget our bodies were made to move. Second we have optimal nourishment, are you focused on what your body does need to thrive or are you just focused on what you don’t need? Hydration is another cornerstone, we need water to function properly, to think and perform. Rest and recovery is often overlooked but is very important to keep the balance. Finally, we have multiplied maintenance, sticking with your progress and adding on to it. When we focus on all of these cornerstones and take a well rounded approach to our health we can do the things we were called to do.

5: Business - How To Change A Habit

One biggest problem entrepreneurs face when trying to change habits is thinking that environment doesn't matter. I get it, everyone says to change a habit we need to focus on our mind only, so it's easy to fall into that trap. So let me ask you some rhetorical questions. Wouldn't changing your environment make it a lot easier to follow through? Wouldn't changing detrimental relationship be more beneficial for you in the long run? Wouldn't it be nice to not have to muster up self-control all the time? Yes right? Do you want to believe that environment doesn't matter or do you want to change it to get the success you are looking for?  -- I am the Straight-Edged Entrepreneur. 2: Business - Mindset Is NOT Everything with Special Guest Jesse Ewell

Everyone wants to tell you that mindset is everything, but Tim is here with special guest Jesse Ewell to tell you it isn’t.  Mindset is a great place to start, but is it enough to get you to your goal?  There are a lot of pieces that go into the whole.  Your mindset is only your thoughts and external beliefs; you need more than that.  We must include our bodies, our hearts, and our faith.  What good is your mindset if your body isn’t propelling your forward?  You also have to put your heart into it to keep your passion fueled.  Without faith how will you stay committed before you see the results?  While mindset alone can bring about some change it won’t be a lasting transformation.  Challenge yourself to put your mindset, body, heart, and faith into alignment. -- I am the Straight-Edged Entrepreneur. 1: Training - Your Life Is For The Most Part A Sum Total Of Your Investments

Ask and ye shall receive, right? Not quite. We all want the good fruits, but those fruits take work. Faithfulness and growth don't happen automatically or immediately. There is no get-rich-quick or lose-weight-fast cheats when it comes to meaningful change. Are you cultivating the soil? Have you planted the seed? Are you giving your seed proper nutrition for growth? Only then can you reap what you have sown. If life, for the most part, is the sum total of our investments, what are you investing in? What seeds are you planting? One Main Truth Fruitfulness and growth doesn’t happen automatically and immediately. To Put It In Perspective Would you ever expect fruit on a tree in its first year? Would you reap a harvest without having planted any seeds? Does a woman conceive and give birth the very next day? Two Main Beliefs Life is, for the most part, the sum total of all our investments. You are going to reap what you sow. We All Want Good Fruit It all starts with the soil and the seed. The soil is a representation of our hearts. The seed is our ideas, dreams, belief systems, etc. You must cultivate a heart that’s ready for a positive change. The Process Preparation is required Seed planting - investment is required Proper nutrition - must feed the dream Growth - after we invest time, attention, and money Satisfaction - the pleasure of partaking of the fruit will come in due season Things That Cause The Seed To Die Defects in the seed; a hurtful or harmful idea. Abort the seed; decide it’s not convenient or comfortable Don’t provide the nutritional requirements. -- I am the Straight-Edged Entrepreneur.
