Description
Started by two young Somali mums in London, Entry Level Mums is more than just a podcast - it’s a space for real, unfiltered conversations about motherhood. Nasra and Sawiya don’t sugarcoat the journey. They share their experiences with honesty, vulnerability, and, of course, a good dose of banter. With completely different birth stories - Nas having a natural birth and Sawiya a C-section - they bring two unique perspectives to the table. But one thing they both agree on? Postpartum was tough. Isolating, overwhelming, and nothing like what they expected. No one should feel alone in motherhood.

We're having the conversation that Britain keeps avoiding. Islamophobia. What does anti-Muslim hate actually look like right now, how widespread is it, and why is so much of it never getting reported? We sit down with the latest research from the British Muslim Trust and honestly, some of these numbers stopped us in our tracks. 45% of all religious hate crimes in the UK are directed at Muslims, the highest of any faith group, and up 19% on the year before. More than half of Muslim adults experienced prejudice based on their faith in just the last twelve months. And yet only 7% of them reported it.We also get into the assumptions people are making about Muslim women every single day, and what our personal experiences tell us about the statistics. This episode is made in partnership with the British Muslim Trust, a national charity appointed by the UK government to monitor and tackle anti-Muslim hostility across the UK. They run a national helpline, carry out research into what Muslim communities are actually experiencing on the ground, and deliver workshops in schools to challenge prejudice early. If you or someone you know has experienced anti-Muslim hate, whether that's in person, at work, on public transport or online, please report it. It doesn't have to be a big deal to be worth reporting. Every single one counts.Website: britishmuslimtrust.co.ukPhone or WhatsApp: 0808 172 3524 (Opening times Monday - Friday 10am - 3pm)For online hate, just screenshot it and send it to their WhatsApp. That's genuinely all it takes.Find them on socials: @britishmuslimtrustDon't forget to the like, leave a comment and please hit that follow button so you don't miss an episode!
