After partnering with Method, WSOE is holding a 24/7 World of Warcraft Classic race that will run throughout this week. Yes, the Farming Simulator League does exist, and no this is not a joke. An actual league with major sponsors like John Deere has popped up around the Farming Simulator game, proving once and for all that literally any game can become an esport with enough ingenuity. I am joined by Max Bettendorf to talk about what this league is, how it works, and to make a bunch of farming jokes. Hope you enjoy. Madden esports are pretty complicated. There's a draft mode, Madden Classic, a salary cap mode and Ultimate Team as options for Madden esports players to compete. Each one comes with a unique set of challenges that make it unique from the others. Zac 'ZAN' Neal is a former Madden pro turned Esports Program Director and Shoutcaster. He takes Mitch through the wide world of Madden esports, what is new to Madden 20 and what Muthead has planned for the upcoming NFL season. Cheating in esports comes in a variety of forms. Aim bots give perfect shots, wall hacks allow you to see people you shouldn't but one form of cheating is the simplest of all. Screen peeking. Many a fight were caused from the simple act of looking at an opposing split screen, and it still happens in the highest levels of esports. A Fortnite World Cup player was removed from the event for screen-peeking. To talk about the problem and how designers are working on it, I brought on Dustin Sweeney from HKS Sports and Entertainment. He's worked on projects like the US Bank Stadium, the LA Rams complex and the Team Vitality HQ. We talk about this problem, then move on to talk about designing facilities for different esports and how the Overwatch and Call of Duty Leagues move to hometown venues is going. Dustin also is slotted for a panel at SXSW so if you enjoyed this conversation please vote for him (https://panelpicker.sxsw.com/vote/103199) and attend the event if you can. Plus, why many in the fighting game community don't consider Smash Bros to be a fighting game and why I think they are wrong.
