João is a Brazilian qualified Lawyer with a strong background in research and litigation focused on the civil, economic, and social rights of Brazilian nationals, refugees, and migrants. Fadi Khalil is currently a Working Group Expert Member at the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights. Harpreet Singh Hora is a practicing lawyer in the Supreme Court of India and various High Courts in India for the past 6 years. He has experience working with the Government of India, as well as serving as a Legal Aid Counsel for Magistrate Courts on the Criminal Panel. His private practice includes Criminal Law, Family Law, and Service Law, and he has also represented clients in cases related to student rights, constitutional rights of religious minorities, and prison reforms. Fernando is currently a Doctoral Candidate at Yale Law School and an Associate Professor of Law at Jindal Global University. He holds a Master of Laws degree from the Yale Law School and a Law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), where he graduated summa cum laude. He also studied Taxation in the PUCP LL.M. Program; Public Policy and Taxation at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain; International Taxation and Transfer Pricing at the Leiden University, Netherlands; and US Law at the Columbia Law School Summer Program. He has authored several papers in prestigious Law Reviews and chapters in books on a wide variety of legal and policy issues. He has served as a Lecturer at PUCP and the Universidad del Pacífico in courses related to Taxation and the interaction between Economics and Law. He has served as a Tutor in Law at Yale Law School and a Lecturer of the Yale Young Global Scholars Program. He was awarded the 2022 Teaching Innovation Project (TIP) Grant by the Yale Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning to build strategies to connect university classrooms with social leaders. His research areas include Constitutional Law, Taxation, Law and Political Economy, Public Policy, and Law & Economics. He started his career in private practice, working for several years in tax consulting for BigLaws and PwC, where he became a Senior Manager. After leaving PwC, he worked as an independent consultant on tax and policy issues and for the Tax Justice Network as a researcher. He is currently focusing on his academic research.

Özgenur Kara Balcı, completed her bachelor’s degree at Ankara University Faculty of Law in 2015, was granted an LLM degree at Ankara University Graduate School of Social Sciences with her LLM thesis entitled “Financial Leasing of Ships in Maritime Law” and she is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Ankara University Graduate School of Social Sciences. During her LLM studies, Ms. Kara Balcı has been in Germany with the Erasmus+ Program at University of Mannheim School of Law and Economics. She is working as a research assistant at Ankara University Faculty of Law Maritime Law Department since 2018 and as a researcher at Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) since 2021. Currently, she is conducting her Ph.D. research at Tulane University Law School in the U.S. as a visiting scholar with a scholarship from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK). Her research areas are Maritime Law, Transport Law
Renato Saeger M. Costa specializes in Constitutional, Comparative, and Administrative Law. He graduated with an LLB from the Faculty of Law at the Catholic University of Pernambuco, in Brazil, and holds an LLM from the University of Queensland, in Australia, where he held an Endeavour Awards Postgraduate Scholarship. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate and RTP scholar at T.C. Beirne School of Law from the University of Queensland, where he also teaches public and constitutional law.
