Divided into six teams, Craig and the Cobalt Unit take on the Roth in the city of Old Salem. Things seem to be going smoothly, but the deeper in they get, the more it appears that they've bitten off more than they can chew.
Merana lets Chariot in on her secrets. Meanwhile, Craig, Grey and Phelps work in teams to move toward the center of Old Salem.
Merana discusses her past and dealing with crippling disease as a child. Chariot obtains blueprints to a Roth Temple where she believes her friends are being held. In Old Salem, the Roth have a plan let the chrysaors out and Craig won’t be able to stop them…
A mysterious man named Bishop shows up at Cobalt Unit’s camp asking to see Craig. Meanwhile Craig might be sleepier than he thought – or is he really seeing ghosts?
Craig interrogates the man Bishop to learn where he came from. It turns out that Bishop has a very appealing offer for Craig. Merana meets secretly with Mic Deko to ramp up the attack on the resistance. And Chariot discovers some very frightening things in the dungeons beneath the Temple of St. Anne.
The battle in Old Salem is going poorly, but Lev Bishop proves to be more useful than Craig originally thought.
Chariot wakes up with vague memories of the night before. Unsure if it was real or a dream, she consults Professor Paul Roman. They may be in more danger than they could have imagined.
Jason Phelps wakes up with evidence that he must have been badly injured, but feels great and doesn’t remember a thing about the accident. Chariot wakes up in a dark dingy cell and is held prisoner by the Roth. Meanwhile, Craig doesn’t find the weapons, but rather finds something unexpected inside the warehouse.
Mic Deko is filled in on his orders in Old Salem by an old enemy, Colonel Lucas Fouschet. Chariot has a disheartening conversation with Merana. Craig gets the opportunity of a lifetime to interview the one and only Alexander Kouros.
Mic Deko begins his plans to rescue Alexander Kouros, but Bishop is pre-cognitively warned of the attack.
As Craig prepares the Cobalt Unit to abandon Old Salem, the Roth soldiers get their first look at the "Fear", Mic Deko's plan to save Kouros. One way or another, a lot of people will die tonight.
Chariot is put one-on-one with a Roth interrogator to whom morality isn't a high priority. Meanwhile, Deko and Fouschet begin plan "B" as they chase the rebels and Alexander Kouros across the state.
Craig and Phelps continue to argue over the issue of Bishop and the High Children. Meanwhile, Chariot and Merana are led into downtown Atlanta to be publicly executed.
Craig and the Cobalt Unit take Alexander Kouros to the Red Horizon city of Charlotte. They arrive just as Mic Deko, Fouschet and the Roth begin their massive attack on the city.
Recovering in the hospital, Dalton Grey has a bit of a revelation as he talks to Bishop. Meanwhile, Craig fights for his life as an army of chrysaors are unleashed on the city.
