One of our amazing Everyday Ultra Coaches, Christie Brinker, just finished the Leadville 100M as her first 100M!Leadville is a tough course; with most of the race being above 10,000 feet of elevation, having over 15,000 feet of climbing, and having unforgiving cutoffs, it is a beast to tackle for a first 100M.But Christie trained hard for it, executed her plan well, and overcame all of the mental obstacles to get it done.And one of the most impressive parts? Badwater 135 is one of the toughest ultramarathons in the world. The race is a 135 mile footrace through Death Valley, California, where temperatures have gone up to 130+ degrees at times. The Tahoe 200 miler was the hardest race I've ever done. Between battling hallucinations, unable to breathe for most of the race, and some of the lowest mental lows I've ever had, this was the fight of my ultra career.And despite all of that, we finished in the top 10!
