The podcast had a birthday! In honor of the milestone, we are posting a revised edition of a fan-favorite from Season 1, Episode 5: Fried Eggs - Starfire GPS History. There have been some updates to the Starfire GPS line since it was posted, so we thought it was worthwhile to add another chapter to the episode. We have some big plans for Season 2 of Everything Ag & Then Some, hopefully you'll join us on the ride!
Sam, Chris & Dale sit down again with Zach Johnson, otherwise known as the Millennial Farmer, to talk about all the goings on at Commodity Classic, the John Deere model year '25 product launch, how many bag phones Chris has owned, how social media farming has changed agriculture, why Duck Duck Gray Duck is better than the goose game, and how Zach deals with hackers.   Sam Paulson: Product Sales Specialist Manager Chris Horob: Precision Ag Support Manager Dale Vatthauer: General Sales Manager Zach Johnson: The Millennial Farmer
Sam, Chris & Margo are joined at Commodity Classic by Bryan Earwood, Large Tractor Marketing Manager for John Deere, to talk about the biggest addition to the Deere tractor lineup, the 9RX 830, including how it meets emissions standards without DEF, how to troll the internet into thinking it did, and how a chrome stack would add even more horses.
Sam, Chris, & Margo are joined at Commodity Classic by Nathan Kramer, Product Line Marketing Manager at John Deere Harvester Works, to talk about the new S7 combine models that were introduced for 2025, as well as new harvest automation technology, updates for headers, and how to properly pull off a bright green jumpsuit.
Sam, Sam, & Chris are joined by Margo Suiter, Product Support Specialist for Kibble Equipment, to talk about what you need to do to get your equipment, data, & technology ready for the incoming spring season. We cover topics ranging from AutoPath setup & mobile row-unit runoffs to Tupperware parties & how to smuggle lunch out of your spring clinics.
The crew is joined by Kevin Poppel, first-generation farmer, and owner of Poppel Custom Ag Services, who shares the path that brought him to farming, and how innovation has been key to his success. We also talk through the future of our RTK base station network, and why Des Moines is lovely this time of year.
Sam & Chris take the show on the road to Kansas City for the John Deere Precision Ag Business Meeting, and are joined by Jon Ebert and Dan Paschke from John Deere to talk about what’s new in the world of Precision Upgrade Kits, as well as the newest path to Deere precision ag technology, Solutions as a Service. What does this new business model mean for Deere customers, and why is it not going to be called a SaaScription? There’s an easy answer to that second question.  Dan Paschke: Director of Marketing, Solution as a Service   Jon Ebert: Precision Upgrades Product Management & Marketing Lead
Sam, Sam, & Chris are joined by Dwain Lammey, Kibble Product Specialist, to talk all the details around the new G5 Essentials Kit, and how this new business model is disrupting the current precision ag market, and what that might mean for the future of John Deere technology.
Sam, Sam, & Chris are joined by Jeff Hanegraaf, Corporate Parts Customer Support Analyst (CPCSA) for Kibble Equipment, to  talk about the inner workings of the Parts Department, and he shares his best advice for dealing with Sammy J every day.
Sam, Sam, & Chris are rejoined by Chad Buendorf to share his experience and year-one review of the See & Spray Ultimate system, the business model, and lessons learned. The crew also explains the See & Spray Premium kit that can be added to your existing sprayer, why single guys don't need to be on your Christmas card list, and Chris' weird idea for an in-cab sprayer "upgrade kit."
Sam, Sam, & Bossman Chris are back to talk equipment demos, (demonstrations not demolitions) Celine Dion, clipping mailboxes, and what’s missing from the brand new Starfire 7500!
Sam, Sam & Chris talk about the history of John Deere’s remote machine monitoring capabilities; from JDLink Machine Messenger, to the ability to monitor your whole fleet from your phone, and being able connect machines together in-field with Machine Sync.
The crew goes digging back in Bossman Chris' kooky old warehouse to find every GreenStar Display, from the Brown Box to the brand new G5 (don't call them Gen 5s), and provides their best shot at an entertaining and historically accurate chronology of the John Deere GreenStar Display.
Sam, Sam, & Bossman Chris are back talk about everything you need to know before you go out to combine this fall, like: watching out for post pounders, how to avoid the "row of shame", and how to make Dad's life easier with Work Planner. We also talk this new world where there's no more new John Deere plows.
Sam and Sam are joined at FarmFest by Amanda and Louie Nigg to share how Amanda's journey to mental wellbeing through physical fitness has transformed into the FarmFitMomma helping hundreds of others achieve their mental and physical wellness. We also talk old barns, planking challenges, waterskiing, & warbells.
Sam and Sam sit down with Chet and Doug Larson at MN FarmFest, and talk about the growing pains of being a YouTube farming family, how equipment demos aren’t always easy on the checkbook, and why Dougo’s future career isn’t as a pilot.
Sam & Sam are broadcasting from the Kibble Equipment booth at FarmFest and are joined by guest host, Andy Pasztor, from Andy Clean, and special guest, Bryan Johnston, from Auger Agriculture to talk social media, how long a Canadian hour actually is, and the typical age demographic in a Culver’s.
Two Sams on the podcast wasn't confusing enough, so we got a third one! Sam Csizmadia, joins the full crew of Sam, Other Sam, & Bossman Chris to talk Turf & Utility sales, and we dive into the history of Deere's entry-level lawn tractors. We also learn there's some interesting ingredients in John Deere Glass Cleaner.
The Millennial Farmer, Zach Johnson, joins Sam & Sam to talk social media, family life, farming fame, and, of course, the telenovela that has been the strip-till rig.
The full crew of Sam, Other Sam, and Bossman Chris sit down with Kibble Equipment General Sales Manager, Dale Vatthauer, to talk John Deere Large Ag Sales. From the 90s-era price books & the invention of AutoTrac, to the precision ag focus of the modern sales rep, Dale tells the stories and shares the advice he's picked up from almost 30 years of John Deere sales experience.
